Where is the RACE MOD menu?
That's a picture of the weight reduction area, place, thing.

The last icon is the Race car mod.
There is another one with body kit mod.

People should stop fooling themselves and accept the fact that all 800+ standard cars are the ones from GT4/GTPSP.
I don't think too many of us are fooling ourselves. When I discovered the cooler aspects of Photo Mode a few months ago - sometimes I'm a little slow - I fell in love with GT4 all over again, and have been drooling over hundreds of my car images in anticipation of GT5.

Yes, the Premium cars look astounding. But on their own, the Standard cars still look darn good. The trailer looks great. I'm not shy at all about looking forward to having the Standard cars in front of my camera in Photo Mode, because they will look better than this:

I wonder in GT5 how many cars can be able to race mod, I hope many of the standard cars should too.

Ahem:

RACECAR
Don't forget to add these:

ARTA NSX '08
Epson NSX '08
Cusco Subaru Dunlop Impreza '08

And to think someone told me they were hard to make out, I knew my eyes weren't deceiving me. Now if someone could scroll more through that playview demo, I'm willing to bet the other two are in as well :)

Race mods were confirmed by Famitsu, the week TGS was on. It was an interview with Yamauchi.

After that we saw pics that led us to believe it was the race mods, but ever since the Famitsu article, we´ve taken that as a confirmation. They said Racing mods were absent since GT2 and were making a return on GT5.

It´s one of the best news we got from TGS actually.

Mkay. The picture he posted had nothing to do with race mods. That's what I was pointing out.

I see, well either way I love looking at the pic :D I cant wait to mod some cars! I wonder if the body kit mod will have ONE body kit for a car or more then one choices. So far I know its confirmed that not all cars will have body kits race mods.

By the way did we have any info on Engine Swaps? Last time I remember Kaz mentioned swapping engines with any car manufacturer, but thats what Kaz mention about a year or more ago. I really hope its still a go for GT5 and not GT6!

Honestly a car list thread is not needed, when the release is looming closer.

Even though they will release a full car list, I would like to see a complete list when the game drops, or someone can confirm/go through all cars. It would be nice for people who don't have the game/haven't heard of the game/are beginning to have an interest in cars to check out the final list before purchase would be nice.

I would love to see full car list before the game ships. I will already try to think about my first few purchases. I think I will judge GT4's credit car prices on used cars.

I'll do as I always do it. See what the used dealer has and if nothing I like is there I'll make a week go by using the license tests and then check again when inventory updates.

What kind of car are you looking for in used cars?
FWD? RWD? turbo cars? Sporty cars? maybe 80s Japanese classics?

For me, I think the Nissan Silvia K's are always a good starter car, RWD, can be moded nicely so with one car I can go far with it.

Maybe with GT5 I will look for a VW or a Civic and switch things around.

Nice to see more people link to my blog! :) You know, since the picture of the two blue Dodge Vipers came from my blog. Both should be from Gran Turismo 1, by the way. Thanks for the photo credit (Gejost, Post #32019).

I haven't really done any detective work with the PlayView thing (or whatever it's called), but that's just crazy detail. About as crazy as double-digit megapixel pictures. I do feel sorry for the one(s) who called that Mine's Skyline as the Mine's Lancer Evolution VI. Sad.

I started GT4 all over again a couple weeks back and I started out with an early EVO, I'm more of an STI guy.
I think my first cars were the evo3, 93 j limited mx5, 96 sti, 89 r32 gts-t and a 95 EG civic SiR.

Nice list, something I would go for, except for a Civic, but this time I'll try to aim fro civic, even it could be slower over the Sti or EVo, and yeah I am more of a STi guy as well.

I needed a FF car and even though I'm not much of a civic guy, the B13 wasn't in GT4 so I had to get a civic. ITR was too pricey.

I wonder what direction PD is going to take in regards to how you play the game.

-Is there goal to make it relatively achievable to own and drive most every car? (with the exception of F1 cars and Project X1 and the like)

-Or, do they want to make you really earn each and every car?

With so many cars in the game, it will take an insane amount of hours to purchase each car, so basically, it boils down to this...are you going to get a nice chunk of change for doing well in races, or will have to fight and scrap for every penny in order to end up buying every car available in the game?

I love sim racing, but unfortunately don't have a vast amount of time to pinch pennies just to buy a lot of the cars I want to drive. I will do it if it has to be done, but I really hope that it isn't just minding numbing (in a bad way) to tediously earn every car. It is fun in its own right to do it that way, but for time reasons because of 1000+ cars, it'd be a TON of work.

I think it will be just like the previous 4 with one exception. They wanted people to be able to get as many cars as fast as possible with the share feature in GTPSP. So that will carry over into GT5.

Well one thing is for sure for anyone who has GTPSP it will not take long at all to acquire all cars in game that are that are transferable. I'm not going to transfer mine yet I will decide on that later on down the road. I want to be able to "achieve" something in the game.
