The added roof/hood cam is pretty nifty! Here's hoping for a cockpit view that is closer forward! Can't stand driving from the back seat
at least it's better than driving from within the steering wheel like in Forza 3

Supercar Challenge & the new WRC game (demo in the UK store) have a more forward cockpit choice. Same as FM3?
To my understanding, PC sims have field of view adjustments. You can move the seat forward & back as well as up and down. I'm not expecting it in GT5, it would make for a great addition to the game!

I am crawling out my skin right now, GT5 is on my mind the demo is so good, and thats playing with no vibration and my throttle is X, and my brake is square. I got a small taste which i wanted, but know it has me wanting so much more. I can imagine how good this game is going to be. The demo is so fun, trying to knock your lap times down is so exciting, or just simply trying to get a feel for a car can be a great experience in GT5 demo. I'm so excited to get a chance to play with some of you guys on the forum, with now a great passion I had for GT4. 👍

No you can actually drive from hood cam, and roof cam. Here are some shots of the hood, and roof cam.

If there is a hood camera in GT5, I won't use the cockpit camera at all. Sure, the dashboard view looks good in GT5P, but it's not the view of choice for me.
This could be big news.

I think this is same camera. The car's is different highs so on Super GT Nissan it look as hood camera and on NASCAR it look as roof camera... 💡

AIMS (Australian International Motor Show) opens from the 14th Oct in Sydney,Australia. last time I went to the Sydney motor show was i think in 2005 and they had GT4 running. I will definitely be going to this years one, and hopefully they will have GT5 running. If they do I will make sure I bring plenty of photos and videos for you guys Anyone here going to AIMS?

We missed these new screens of Gran Turismo 5′s Auto Shop when they appeared a week or so back, but hey were human, and at least were running them now. And besides, with the benefit of not rushing them out we can take a bit of a closer look.
See the first image in the gallery below? Cast your peepers over those icons at the bottom in particular the two picked out below. The first is hopefully aero parts like front and back bumpers and side skirts and the one on the right looks like its racing modifications.
The former would give GT 5 some much needed customisation aspects, because although were not getting a full livery editor (unless Polyphony really do have one hell of secret up their sleeves) it would be nice to have some way of differentiating our cars.
And the latter, racing mods, that hasnt been seen en masse since Gran Turismo 2 the option to race spec our vehicles is very welcome indeed. Lets hope both pan out the way we want them to when the game launches in the first week of November. Yep, GT 5 is nearly here

Nah man you can actually switch from that high hood cam to actual roof cam on the same car (SLS) 👍

First, welcome to GTPlanet. Second, no "txt spk" please, it's against the AUP that you agreed to when you joined ("ppl say" and "i" not being capitalized), and lastly, according to this picture, you can see the icon that highlights bumpers, side skirts, and the rear spoiler. So it is pretty much confirmed yes.
EDIT to JDMKING13: If that is indeed true, great news!!
