JDM, thanks a lot for shooting the 24. My goodness, I hope certain sounds are adjustable. Gear whine is far from real! Been to a NASCAR race and you can't hear yourself think!

Thats the E3 build you've played. Here's the Gamescom Build:

Still baffles me why the public demos are old unpolished builds while show builds like this are far more advanced, kinda throws off people.

Show builds get more media attention, get recorded with high quality equipment, are shown to gaming industry people with alot of experience (overall) in gaming and very refined reference points for judgement.

Kiosk builds are for the average yahoo-Joe Q 2hr\week gamer in for a quick pack of batteries at Walmart and has time to kill so will make a quick BB\iphone fuzzy capture with no sound(90% of the time) and horrible driving.

Danny what is a "Nascar"? I gave a good description of exactly what the NASCAR Cup car sounds like on the recent pages of the sound thread.

Ha, and when i typed that i just remembered reading the discussion about how NASCARS are supposed to be called NASCAR Stock Cars  my bad Dave ;)

I don't know when the embargo will be lifted because Sony denied my requests for a review copy of the game.

Those big, fat meanies!!!

I don't see why anyone is surprised of this though.

Perhaps but in reality GTPlanet has proved to be one of the few sites that can hold their water where GT5 is concerned!

I'm quite disappointed by that, shame on you Sony :indiff:

I am quite sure Sony is aware of how trust worthy GTPlanet is with embargos but my theory is Sony knows when the embargo lifts GTPlanet will let ALL the info and details flow. Regular media makes a general vague review on their thoughts (likes and dislikes) GTPlanet would most likely dissect every little detail and make GTP the only place to come rather then bothing with IGN, Gamespot etc what so ever.

Off topic mode: If someone forgot or didn't know, the qualifying session of the Japanese Grand Prix should start in a few minutes.

A quick thought.

Does anyone think that we may actually see some open-wheeled motorsports in GT5? such as F1 or Indy? What makes me think this is that inside the Apex book we can see a page showing open-wheeled racers (not too sure what type) and i remember in early Jan? A PS magazine stated that Indy cars would feature (which was then later taken back) maybe PD requested for them to say that Indy cars would not feature to hide the surprise?

I'm probably over analysing things here, but i thought i would share this with you guys :)

Sorry for any confusion, but I didn't actually say that. In my comment, I only mentioned the official GT5 Launch Party in Madrid will be on the 26th. I don't know when the embargo will be lifted because Sony denied my requests for a review copy of the game.

Oh damn, my mistake. I should be apoligizing for jumping the gun on that, should've waited until there was some definate info.

Sony probably thinks GTP's review would be bias since it would be done by a serious GT/car enthusiast. I guess they feel safer with the average Joe from IGN/Gamespot. I don't think any of the reviews I've read over the years have been one sided. Sony should reconsider on the review copy.

Did it finally stop raining? I was trying to watch last night at 12amCST but it was pouring. 20hrs later and they finally do quals?

We need to plan a "bank job" and ambush the ship/truck that carries all the GT5 boxes to the retail shops :)

Alright, I'm in, we'll have to plan it carefully, this is do or die, John Dillinger style, we stop the truck, we take it and run with the games after shooting the truck driver in the vocal chords.

I suppose it would be a stupid to ask if they told Jordan exactly why. I am curious as to why they wouldn't allow GTP a Review copy.

Personally SuperShouden I don't see the point. GTPlanet people shown to be fair in Cologne respecting the time for publishing new information.
I actually can't see why GTPlanet could be considered a potential danger for its review if they (we :)) get the review copy the same day as the other reviewers.
By the way that's just my opinion

Any forum would be a liability. Who knows, Jordon might get a review copy at a later time, but, from a business stand point, any forum would run the risk of revealing secrets. It wouldn't matter if you know the forum is trust worthy or not. Those interviews were with Polyphony, not Sony, and Sony's the company that gives out the review copies. Jordon would have to be budies with someone at Sony to get a review copy, and even then it would be hard. (Although, he could try to give Kaz a call, since he's part of Sony.) It's all about business. Once the information embargo is lifted, that would be the time to ask Sony for a review copy as then it wouldn't matter if secrets were leaked.

At that point, it would be moot.. the embargo will probably be lifted only a matter of days before release. Jordan would be able to get a copy faster by just waiting until the 2nd and buying it in-store.

A quote from Famine's Gamescom Breakout Session :embarrassed::tup:

The remainder of GT Mode retains all the old favourites – licences, dealerships, tuning shop, used cars and five different levels of series (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Professional and Extreme) with the five different types of cars (Kart, Production, Rally, Race and Formula).

Hmmmm... slightly off-topic, but attempting to tie it in; since we have an mkII TT (pre-facelift, though) in-game, and Racing Mods are making a return... what are the chances we could end up making it look similar to this just-unveiled VLN racer?

Hey guys took some more video today, however they are not the best my camera was dying so I had to get what I can get. The videos of the Lambo and SLS IMO show the difference between, some type of hood cam and roof cam. please state your opinion I also got a video on the stingray on the Ring, pretty scary car to drive because of the soft suspension I also had S3 tires on and it still had me :scared:. I could not get the whole video my camera died. I got some grass kick up footage though. This TV is not a good one its a 22 inch 1080i, but the effect still look good, i can imagine how it would look on a nice TV.

SLS

White Lambo, another example of hood and roof cam IMO.

Stingray

The only way to get that hood cam was with the replay? It looks nice.

This may be a little off topic but does anyone in Sydney, Australia have any info if there is going to be a GT5 booth in the Sydney International Motorshow?

The added roof/hood cam is pretty nifty! Here's hoping for a cockpit view that is closer forward! Can't stand driving from the back seat :(

There's cars other than the Lambo...

@ tom_jgg, Don't quote all the videos - especially when they're on the same page.

Sorry man It was not enable or something, I will try to crash hard tomorrow I did not have a lot of time today.

@ Dave I wish that car was available to drive i would try it.
