http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/driving/granturismo52/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-56725429&pid=941103 I found this at gamespot, I can't pull up the website on my phone but it claims that it has gone gold, would someone care to check into they website they posted?

I'm not too worried about this only because I Googled 'ModNation Racers' 'goes gold' and got no hits that directly stated when that happened either. That game, of course, is already released.

My point is that we may not be given that information when it happens. At the same time, I must confess to looking at all of this very simply: when it is released, I will play it.

Hmmm... that is interesting. I assumed (probably mistakingly) that all major games have announcements when they "go gold". But, now that I think about it, that may not be the case.

just followed through that link for you and it's just some guy posting that with a crap source, which is this:

http://www.classification.gov.au/ww...c82dafb7342e8a6eca2577b90057efd6?OpenDocument

did we expect the game to be MA or something?

unless there's something in the gaming industry that a game only gets categorized after going gold. *i don't know*

The sound is of PS1 / PSP quality. Here is the proof:

Recognise?

Yes it's a fictional car, but 6 litre V12's don't just turn into a hive of bees inside a megaphone when you tune them.

I don't think that means GT5 has gone gold.
God of war 3 's date of classification was 2010/01/12.And it has gone gold on February 19.

Theres too much financially for Sony riding on this to screw up release dates. The deadline date was announced months ago-Sony would look really bad, and lose some credibility with retailers and fans if this date was not met :)
I don't think there is much financially riding on the release, in all honesty the game would sell more copies if it were released later (not 4 days before c.o.d black ops) because casual gamers would chose cod 90% of the time and most if not all could not afford to buy both games in the same month. IF there is a delay I wouldn't be surprised if its purely down to cod being released virtually at the same time and gt5 gets pushed back to the end of Nov maybe Dec (Just in time for Christmas shoppers ).
As for credibility I think retailers have already lost it as far a gt5 is concerned.
they won't keep giving shelf space to a game that keeps getting delayed.
The sad thing is I think pd and Sony are realizing (maybe through pre-orders) that gran turismo may not be the power house it used to be, times have changed peoples gaming habits have changed and moved away from driving sims.
Sorry to mention Forza but they would have had t.v adverts / magazine articles running for weeks if it were there new game being released.

UK retailer Shopto.net claim their GT5 Pre-orders are higher than Black Ops combined.

Speaking to IncGamers, ShopTo’s Phil Driver said: "Currently MOH is outselling COD but only by around 20% so with another twenty days to go I think we will see much higher numbers for COD in the end. However the true star of the show for us at the moment is Gran Turismo 5.

WRONG, racing sims are becoming more popular.

WRONG, pre order sales are very high right now and with the special version selling out at some retailers.

you obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about

Not compared with fps games there not
gt5 213.000 pre-orders, c.o.d pre-orders for ps3 575,153

you obviously don't have a clue what you're talking about
time will tell, maybe I know something you don't :sly:

No you don't, we are not comparing a racing game sales to a shooting game, and like i said earlier the sales of GT5 are doing great even just on Amazon with it being number 15 on the top 100 best selling games list and NFS at number 83 F1 2010 is not even on the list.

EDIT: Even on GameStop.com it's on the best seller's list.

Hi guys, I work in HMV.

Although our (store) display graphics were not edited with new release dates tonight, our track system was reporting the release date as 26/11.

Last time I checked on our system was on Saturday, and it was 5/11.

So, we'll see...

Wow, the Ferrari in that video sounds... my gosh!! What a beautiful sound!! I'd give anything to have engine noise like that in GT5.

Disclaimer: I am not claiming to know anything for sure. These are a series of "best guesses". Please feel free (and I know you will) to pick this apart. This is nothing more than an attempt to add some detail to the "delay conversation".
______________________________________________________________

Yea, I don't think any of this malarkey is related to COD at all. If it were, then we will definitely see a delay in NA. However, all of the news/rumors so far seem to point to PAL areas. And these are the areas where GT5 is beating out COD, or it seems that way according the pre-order info for the U.K.

Plus, GT5 is not going to beat out COD. It may get closer and closer over time, but it will take a long time to catch up with it. And as someone said earlier, Sony had to have known that COD was coming out around this time when the date for GT5 was released.

If I had to take a guess, I would say that we are looking at 3 possible scenarios.

1. It is delayed worldwide and the "delay reasons" were more apparent in certain regions first. So, those regions are notified, with the hope that it only effects those regions. However, it slowly becomes apparent that none of the region's orders can be filled on time. Therefore, it is delayed worldwide.

2. It is delayed in "PAL Regions" only. Australia, Europe, Russia, etc are all effected. It is something that is related to the PAL version only. Japan and the much of the Americas are unaffected.

3. This only happens in Russia. Sorry guys.

My personal feeling, which is based on nothing, is that this will happen to all of the PAL countries if it happens to Russia. Russian is not exactly an obscure language. It is also an neighbor with Japan, so I don't think they have a shortage of possible translators. If that happens that would be really strange.

More likely scenario is that it will effect the "PAL Version". There is a major glitch or series of glitches which they attempted to alleviate. However, they are now pushing back the release to resolve. I know a lot of you will say these things can be fixed with patches, but understand that major glitches will not be left on the disc. Only minor ones will use a patch.

Edit:

Nice Videos and it is good to hear him say November 2nd.
