It's probably been pointed out already but the European GT5 homepage is still saying November 3rd... which I think is a bit cheeky, surely someone could have altered it in light of todays news...

Personally I'm hoping it's a very short term delay, I don't physically see how it can be November for this long (after an already long production period) and then have a major delay. Like others, I'm happy if it's out by Xmas, waiting til January or forbid even later would just not be right.

And with this bombshell we end todays program!

Thank you and GOOD NIGHT 👍

Nov 2nd, 3rd, and 5th was a worldwide release. All video games and DVD's in the US are released on tuesday. Friday for UK as I understand.

There aren't any left for the rest of the year. But SEMA takes place on November 2nd and the Tokyo Motor Show takes place on December 3rd. Kaz is going to be at SEMA but a TMS appearance is unknown.

Maybe he should postpone the his travels for the rest of the year.

They're supposed to announce the release date by the end of this month and if they do that then the game will likely be done and possibly already in its gold stage.

What I'm saying is the boss shouldn't be spending time away from his job if the job isn't finished and there is a problem.

Given the game had already been sent out to classification boards and reviewers, it must have been very close to completion. I'd say it's a last minute bug that someone has discovered and is likely to take 2-4 weeks to fix plus the manufacturing time of the game. You can guarantee that both Sony and PD will be throwing a heap of money at this problem to get the game released before Christmas.

I wonder if they're just going to delay until the delayed series of Top Gear returns?!

ha ha I hope not there's no date for the new series yet ! only "early next year" I don't think there really THAT close are they ? I read a few pages back about top gear not having a stig! the stig will stay but with another driver top gear are still using the stig in the magazine and on the website.

The latest TG Magazine said it's coming back in January. We don't know anything about the NEW Stig except that...

You seem to be terribly mistaken, visiting those auto shows usually IS part of his job for it aids in the research aspect. Now this late in game for GT5 probably not, but for say GT6 its aids in knowing the current automotive trends.

As RACECAR said, in many ways visiting these shows is part of his job. It not only allows him to keep informed on some of the latest trends in the industry, it allows him to continually get the games name out. And he also hands out an award at SEMA.

It's also worth noting that Kaz probably isn't doing much on GT5 at this point. If it's a polishing issue then there's not much he can do as he's not a programmer. That's up to the rest of the team. So he really doesn't need to be there for them to finish the job.

From a comment on that page:

"Microsoft know that once GT 5 comes out the Xbox 360 will be officially dead and everytime it’s release date draws near Microsoft crap themselves and rush out another 12 Halo games."

Made me smile.

well halo reach was not that good really

Mr. Imasaki said the company “is shooting for it to be out by the holidays. You won’t see too much more delay.”

Hmmm. Not exactly reassuring, given so far, PD couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a spade.

Too much more delays? are these guys on crack, do they still plan to delay the game? even though am not mad i find that quote very very disappointing.
