Doesn't the "Holidays" start with Thanksgiving? Technically it starts with Halloween, but I always thought Thanksgiving was part of the "Holidays" since it's within a month from Christmas.

Well the big sales push starts the day after, but yes Thanksgiving is part of the Holidays.

It's good to know that reason for delay is not a bug in programming, but just "bad" release date decision!
To be honest - I'm not so worried. We have day/night, weather, track creator, data logger with real-world replays and only God knows what else + 300 pages of Apex + game will be available at country's native language.
I mean seriously - this delay is nothing.(compared to quality and quantity of a coming stuff)

Complex system ? I think he's referring to premium and standard car in a rainy night track.

It could refer to anything from the damage system to dynamic weather to the course creator to night/day transition to the changing track conditions. It can be any of these things or a combination of these things.

Try having all these systems work in tandem and not conflicting with each other. That is programming hell. Since I'm studying to be a game design programmer, I am not looking forward to that sort of thing, but that comes with the territory.

延期しちゃってごめん。複雑なシステムを落ち着かせるのに手間がかかったせいです。ほ んとごめんね。みんな、すまない・・・。ちょっとまってて。

Sorry got postponed. That was because I took time to calm the complex system. Really sorry. Everyone, sorry. Wait up to a minute.

What's a complex system? And why does it need to be calmed? Why is it upset in the first place? You are a very confusing little man, KY.

With all that demos and stuff I think PD lost the final build "ISO", now they need time to find it on their servers!

Here's a quick trip down memory lane with GT4's release date

Gran Turismo 4 has just been hit with another delay in Japan. Sony Computer Entertainment announced today that the game, originally scheduled for 12/3 release throughout the island nation (even Okinawa!), will now arrive a few weeks later, on 12/28. This delay affects the game and all promotional packages associated with it, including the racing bundle and the limited edition Nike bundle.

As reason for the delay, SCE cited some fine tuning that still remains with the product. The company also pointed to the huge volume contained in the game, including the more than 700 cars and 90 courses included within (we thought it was 50 courses... but oh well).

That delay was announced on November 18th in Japan.

I don't beleive they are doing it on purpose... It causes so much hassle for everybody involved.

Sure there are some positives that come from delaying the game but no way would they have planned this. It's just another case of PD putting the quality of the game before everything else.

6 years of waiting this game needs to be near perfect so it's understandable why they are being so fussy.

If this is a production delay, in the sense that there's an issue with pressing the discs, than there aren't really any positives, nor is it really a case of PD "putting the quality before everything else".

If it's some final polishing by PD themselves... why the hell set a deadline you can't hit?

The problem is we're not getting one solid answer as to why this delay is happening.

IMO this seems to be more of a fault with Sony. However, PD may have screwed up somewhere, and this is the result. I highly doubt it is anything like adding content like people are suggesting in some of the comments on the news page.

I pre ordered my SE, I called them and they said as soon as the game is released, I will get the pack. And I got 5% discount!

I think PD announced unavaible features in the game to promote GT5. Now They added these features Something wrong happened
