Personally, I think they should just forget about GT6 and concentrate on supporting GT5 with tons of DLC for the next few years. After all, what we are getting is the ultimate driving experience. All the delays must mean that he is cramming as much into the game as possible, so what more is there to add, apart from new cars and tracks? Or even other driving disciplines/tournaments, like Indycar or Touring cars?

From Kotaku:

Toyota's stand at this year's Australian International Motor Show in Sydney will be playing host to a 24-hour race of Gran Turismo 5, beginning at 3pm next Tuesday, October 19, and running until 3pm the following day.

Sadly, while the race will be taking place on GT5's rendition of Germany's famous Nürburgring Nordschleife, that's about where the toughness ends, as only two teams will be competing in the race, and each team will consist of 24 members.

So, yeah, each driver will only be racing for an hour.

A journalist colleague of ours, Gregor Wildermann, who is visiting Tokyo and Polyphony Digital passed on information of what Polyphony Digital head Kazunori Yamauchi had to say about the cancelled release date of Gran Turismo 5.

His reply was that the game was only three days late from their side, and that Sony has to decide what that means for the release. And so far Sony have not given gamers a new date, but hopefully the wait won't have to be that long.

So, a confirmation of gold status then isn't it?

I'm not bothered by that then. I think in all respect we should probably get mad at Sony by not backing themselves up in such an eventuality.

Edit: For those of you who are young 'uns, I suggest you research "Daikatana" by Ion Storm, and you shall see that this isn't all that bad.

GTP blog
a Sony Canada spokesperson to Reuters Canada, clearly stating that “production difficulties were to blame for the delay”.

Sorry to sound so skeptical, but "production" issues sounds quiet vague to me. For sure at this point PD/SONY will not shoot themselves yet another bullet in the feet by divulging alarming/bad news about the game itself?

Those duplicating facilities are spread around the world, so is it likely they all faced the same issue? Or would Sony assume a global launch delay to preserve an almost worldwide release? Also by this day and age I’m surprised we never heard about a little YK’s tweet in the form of “ Rejoice, the game got gold!”.:nervous: (how efficient would that cheap form of promotion be?).

Anyway, as long as the Madrid launch party remains on the schedule, I’ll try to remain confident and patiently wait for better news by the end of the month.

Really? I'm betting that it's all Ben Collins' fault. Ben Collins jumped ship with his ill-advised autobiography, which has forced the BBC to find an alternative. If the BBC are rebranding the Stig, GT5's Stig-heavy content would be out-of-date before it even hit the shelves.

I wonder if they deliberately made the spray-gun look like a chamaeleon...

I'm quite relieved with this latest news about the fact they were only 3 days late.
If that news is correct, the game is ready and just need to be pressed ?
That would be really relieving.

People who were crying yesterday and bashing GT5, should be embarrassed and not consider them self true fans... how can you say "im cancelling my pre-order" without knowing the reason behind the delay? :/

All the crying and its only 3 days..

people should really get out of their houses and get a life.

Its pathetic.

Read, It isn't only 3 days, it's more than 1 month...

On a similarly positive note, I have been privately informed that review copies of GT5 were only briefly postponed and should still be in reviewer’s hands within the next few weeks. I can also report Sony is targeting a new release window within approximately 8-12 days after November 26th (“Black Friday” in the United States).

Well good news Gt6 will not take 6 years but only 3 years :-)

3 years... plus the "scheduled" PD trademark delays :dopey:!

Seriously I still think it is a marketing decision. If the delay in March was clearly the need to tweak and perfect all the different aspects of the game, this seems likely to be a pure marketing strategy thing - Christmas is just around the corner from November 5th... and it's so tempting! Although technical difficulties might have created the scenario for a small delay, I think this is being taken as an opportunity by Sony to turn GT5 into a Christmas best seller.

ITs up to SONY .

So whats the big deal?

like i said: people these days are Pathetic! 👎

also read:

""Of course, three days could be just enough to build in – say - a newer firmware requirement…""

Also myabe it means development time has increased by 3 days to add the Jailbreak block aka FW 3.50.

If that was the case then why wouldn't Sony have simply announced a Christmas release date back at E3?

November is a very good time to launch a big title. You are guaranteed large sales through December anyway but you also picked up large sales through all of November. Also as far as the US is concerned Black Friday (Nov 26th this year) is a very important shopping day. Sony would want GT5 on store shelves for that date so it could sell not only copies of the game but also PS3's and 3D HDTV's on the largest shopping day of the year.

I don't think Sony would sacrifice Black Friday sales in the US unless they had absolutely no other choice.

What don't people understand? The game missed the production date by 3 days. That production date would have been booked months in advance to allow for the burning of however many million GT5 blu-ray discs, booklets and whatever else. Other companies would have been booked in after GT5's date, to have their games produced (COD black ops NFS etc.). What that means is that Sony have to find time in their production schedules to produce enough GT5 games to allow for a world wide release.

So that means that Gran Turismo 5 will be released in several weeks instead of 3 days later? I'm perfectly ok with that, it gives me more time to save up money.
