It depends. Is the word "short" the same as "soon" in Japanese?

Joking aside, next week would be right if the given reason was the real reason. By next week they should have a firm production schedule, hence a firm release date. Let's hope so.

I would take that with a grain of salt. I mean Nov 2nd was a firm release date yet, it was still delayed so any date that PD mentions is to be taken with a grain of salt because who knows if it is really firm :dunce:

There was never an official release date besides Nov. 2nd here in America. So anyone who says it's been delayed over and over are wrong. So what if it's delayed. Patience is rewarded. GT games are awesome, and this one will be the best yet. Photo realistic graphics, body kits, wheels and paint shops, Stig challenge... come on now, weve got plenty to wait and be excited for. It's gonna be soon. No doubt about it. If magazines are getting their hands on it, we'll be next.

Actually there has been several delays. I think it was Spring 2010/2009/2008?? that it was schedueled for and was delayed.

For all we know, we still might be waiting for this game come October 2011. I take nothing for granted anymore. I not once complained about having to wait for a video game, because a game doesn't (nor should it) control my life.

Kazunori is a hard-working guy who is great at what he does...but I've lost respect for him because of his dishonesty as a business person (which are often chalked up as mis-translations). The guy has lied over and over for over 6 years regarding GT games for the PS3 console.

I'll still buy the game at midnight on launch day...for now...but PD is on a slippery slope right now in the community. They can't be convincing too many XBox'ers to fall in love with PS3 if they have to wait so long for good games...even if they are better.

That's what I said, nothing OFFICIAL in terms of a release date, except for 11/2/10. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Regardless of pushbacks from when we thought the game would be here, it's not here yet. People fret over the small things but expect something grand. What if Kaz did the same thing? What if he released GT5 without any of the features we'll see? Like a new B-Spec? How about the return of race modification? What if he said no 3D? How about 8 racers instead of 16? 30fps instead of 60? 20 tracks instead of more than 40? And maybe best of all, Track editor! We get the best of the best when we get GT games, this is the first FULL GT game of the new generation. GT in the past has been the best of their generation, so why expect anything different? I sure don't. It'll be a blast to have the GT 'feel' again. To have updated sounds and physics, graphics like nothing else, that's what I'm eager for. GT is like no other racing game, sim, whatever. GT is in a class of it's own.

Period. 👍

You gotta love going out end of september and buying a 42" Plasma for this game. Then buying a PS3 just about a week ago now...For this game.
oh well i was going to buy the wheel and stand, untill i heard of the delay again....guess ill wait till i know more to buy that.
So just about $1,300 spent for a game that just got delayed.:ouch::nervous:
I cant wait though
Now i have time to see what all the fuss is about..Playing God of War 3 and Uncharted 2. (which are freaking astonishing)
Not all is lost........................net yet:)

I've never been a fan of B-spec. People are always complaining about endurance races, saying that they want a save feature, or that B-spec isn't reliable. IMO it kind of defeats the purpose of completing an enduro if you've saved multiple times and had AI driving for half of the race.

It doesn't seem like you can do that anymore. A Spec and B Spec are now separated.

You do know that a lot of endurance races have multiple riders, right?

Thats my one and only complaint with it on GT5. I can no longer participate in the owner/driver role I've always liked.

I do realise this, but the fatigue from a driving simulator and that of a race car are quite different.

True, but the eye strain from driving in front of a television for 24 hours probably doesn't feel that great either....nor do many of us have that amount of time.

If you, and I know a lot of people here, have done the 24 hours on A-spec, I applaud those people, but I sure as heck don't have 24 hours straight to drive in a video game...but I still want to complete the game....therefore a save feature would be great for a lot of people....like myself.

Well, if you're dead set against B-spec or saving progress in the pits, according to "ME", you are not allowed to pause the game at any time for any reason. You better buy some Depends bucko!

We don't know if B-Spec is completely separate from A-Spec right now. It could be, then again it could very well be how it was in GT4. Regardless, it won't affect me any. I'll drive a 24hour race. Sometimes i'll sit at the end of the pits for a half hour while i eat then resume and catch up to the field in a few hours. I bet GT5 won't allow for that though! I hope that this time around if I use a 787B, I'll race against a Toyota 88CV or a Nissan R89 and R92 or the Sauber Mercedes C9 and the older Peugeot!

I'm just not interested in the B Spec concept. I buy racing games because I like to drive :)

Hypothetically, if B Spec has been the cause for delays I'd be a verry unhappy person.

I have to agree with you 👍

Who would have thought that at one post every 48 minutes (on average) this thread would be over 37,000 posts long.

Good point, wonder if their is some sort of record being set here.

Longest pre release thread type thing.
Can't see Duke nuke em having this type of thread.

Seth, I would have to say that judging by GTPSP, PD may have dealt with "bringing a machine gun to a knife fight".

Ahh well that's good. No more running around with my 787B lapping SuperGT cars once ever 30-45 minutes. I don't even remember my lap times! I would guess they were high 5 minute marks, 5:50 or around 6:00 flat. The 787B was just perfect, it was gentle on tires and with the right tuning topped 245mph easy.

I think the people who say you shouldn't be able to save during endurance races are stupid , it is a game for **** sake, it's not real life. I would never have the time to do one 24 hour race let alone however many there are in the game.

amen brother, many of us have jobs and a life too...

I had both when I did GT4's 24hr races - working full time, playing hockey every Saturday, family engagements on a Sunday. I completed them with the pause button.
