What's hot now in PAL territories? You should start getting worried about the possibilities!

Not sure what's hot or not anymore around here, although I was never bothered about that to be honest but if I had to make a suggestion ( apart from that perfectly fine Chemical Brothers 'Horsepower' track ) for an opening track in Europe ( purely based on personal preference ) I'll go for something by Goldfrapp or Portishead.

Although I fear it will be some generic faceless Esperanto music.

How about that time less face of pop.
CLIFF RICHARD. The elder statesman of pop recently turned 70.
What better way to honour Sir Cliff as to add him to this great game.

Well... having good music is only half the battle. Looking back to other GT's intro, while working real good with Cardigans "My favourite game" and quite well with that Chemical Brothers remix, it's still clear that they were tailored to MotC.

On GT3, the intro worked well with both SCEA and SCEE choices (more so with the latter), then GT4 came out and (IMO) it didn't work well with their choices (and that was an epic intro along with an epic song).

Now if GT5 follow on GT4 steps and delivers an intro featuring something along these lines: >>LINK, switch Panama for that MCR song and I don't think the results would be any better :|

EDIT:
Yeah, this is just my opinion\speculation on the matter, as until GT2 they only used one track for each intro. After that, they started mixing MotC (pentagon A-spec mix and the orchestral version) with whatever SCEA\SCEE did choose (which I think it will backfire on them if they try the same approach with GT5).

I think 'Phat Planet' would be better than 'Planetary Go.'

Just needs a slight remixing and It'd be perfect, has an awesome bassline and tempo.

You guys do realize that no matter what song is choosen there will be people who do not like it. Personally I do not care what they use though maybe Highway to hell would be interesting :) If they do in fact let us customize the music with our own mp3s then everyone should be happy no matter what music is in the game itself.

Planetary (Go!) doesn't sound too bad.

For all the whiners, just import the game from Japan if you care that much.

That is completely true as music taste is something very specific and there's nothing that'll be equally liked by each and everyone.
I would've wished they made an epic classical music score specifically written for GT5 as that's probably the 'safest' option regarding being suitable to most tastes as opposed to a rock or dance track for example without being potentially a turn off or boring as a lot of games these days have excellent classical music scores specifically written for those games.
Having said that, I already really liked the opening song in GT4 ( PAL ), does anyone remember what it was called, was it a version of 'Moon over the castle'?
Anyway, whatever it may turn out to be, it's just the opening track so no big deal I reckon ( if it's crap turn the opening scene off, just one listen won't harm anyone ).

How about a (shortened) version of this for the Euro release, cos as much as I'm not fussed my the MCR, I'd rather something more electro, less rocky, more in keeping with our European traditions :P

Has a brilliantly desolate epic intro, but when it really kicks in at the end... sexy. Tempted to make my own trailer to this music in fact, after the current one is done, which is taking me some time :(

Fact is pd have chosen mcr so live with it, just like they chose to ad Nascar.
Is there not a complaining thread or music in gt5 for this kind of thing ?

The first part, before the "action", is Moon over the Castle (GT4 "orchestral version"). After that, Kasabian kicks in.

The other versions are the GT1 MotC ("Knight's song" from T-Square), GT2 MotC with the lovely piano intro (and outro) and GT3 MotC that had a peculiar intro... that I can't describe. The GT5P version is kind of... weird.

Anyway, whatever it may turn out to be, it's just the opening track so no big deal I reckon ( if it's crap turn the opening scene off, just one listen won't harm anyone ).

What!? Just imagine the epic footage it will feature! Better to just mute it then :P

Or like a trailer, watch it fully at least once!

SCEA chose it. If it was PD, ha, if it was PD... they would propably find a way to make it work, make it good. Just watch any trailer PD have released for GT5 and GT5P, different kinds of music but they complement what's on screen.

Now take one of those official or epic fan-made trailers and switch their audio track for something else or specifically that MCR song in question... it just doesn't work.

So long as it isn't stupidly loud like GT5P, for some reason that was ten times louder than anything else in the game. So scary turning it on.

"Like".

I'm glad to think that SCEE might choose a different song.

Edit:

Approx £55 GBP.

Looks like Signature edition is worth the £150.

Looks also like its been stolen from the factory or something...I hope my model car isn't missing when my Signature edition arrives...

If I have to speak on the delay...

I know the reliable info we have right now etcetc but...

I think PD and Sony knew about the delay. They planned to film the We love cars (real) commercial before the delay was announced. As of now they only have about 9 days left until the (should have been) release. I think they delayed the game on purpose so they could advertise it more. They still have to get the commercial edited & approved to be televised.

TLDR i think Sony delayed GT5 so they could market it, and the 3 days/disc burning facilities is all a rumor.

Does another developer have the Koenigsegg license.
Similar to the Porsche agreement with EA.

If Koenigsegg are not in, that would be another blow to the encyclopaedia of cars.

The car is in NFS Shift.

I'm curious about something. PlaystationEU twitter says "We expect to confirm a new release date before the end of the month ", so is there any possibility that they'll NOT announce a new release date or they'll announce a new one %100?

What if they won't say anything about this "new date" this week?

This is the way I look at. I think they are very capable of not telling us a release date. If they told us a release date at E3 and then blew that a few weeks before release. I think Sony is capable of anything except being on time. :)

Didn't that fell through? SolidSnakex posted the same info back in September, then someone (or him again) reported that the review was postponed...

And then an advert from OPM made its way to the internet saying "Take to the track in November", so, maybe next issue.

EDIT:

Only 2 and a bit days until Paris game week starts (27th October).
Hopefully we will get the release date and hopefully it will still be in November.

Can we expect any new features? I'd like to see a demonstration of GT Auto by Kaz.

Also a more in depth look at the weather system. For example what tracks will feature these weather effects and are there different levels of weather i.e light rain, moderate rain, heavy rain.

We have yet to see if we can race the Nurburgring at night. This would be a nice edition.

The Nurburgring is a track with endurance races for it, therefore you can race at night on it.

The review has been also delayed for the next issue :guilty: .

When's that? In the US, an October magazine comes in late September, however, in the UK, I'm not sure as to how that works. Do issues actually come out in the month they are listed in? If not, the "next issue" (November issue) would come out in late October/early November.
