Not sure what's hot or not anymore around here, although I was never bothered about that to be honest but if I had to make a suggestion ( apart from that perfectly fine Chemical Brothers 'Horsepower' track ) for an opening track in Europe ( purely based on personal preference ) I'll go for something by Goldfrapp or Portishead.

Although I fear it will be some generic faceless Esperanto music.

Mmmmmm... Portishead.

Planetary (Go!) doesn't sound too bad.

For all the whiners, just import the game from Japan if you care that much.

Ah, you gave the gift of contempt. Though if as you say, the song "doesn't sound too bad," then it also doesn't sound too good. :)

When's that? In the US, an October magazine comes in late September, however, in the UK, I'm not sure as to how that works. Do issues actually come out in the month they are listed in? If not, the "next issue" (November issue) would come out in late October/early November.

Here in Europe I think is the same, they comes just weeks before the month in question, but taking into account that this tweet is from October 13th I suppose the review will be released in the issue that comes in late November, I guess.

The issue 51 would be the December issue. So the one coming at the end of November (for subscribers at least) will be the January 2011 issue? Wow, talk about confusing. If the advert is correctly, then, this is the issue that would, probably, be carrying the review.

Two months in advance? I'm not sure about that, but is more than possible  .

The tweet from the OPM's Twitter doesn't sound like we will see the review of GT5 any time soon and according to the ad the magazine comes out in 2-3 days so I guess it will be in the January issue, with the reviews of AC:B, COD:BO, etc, that should come in late November.

I hope they keep their promise about revealing the realease date this week or maybe that will be delayed too? :sly:

Actually it feels weird not knowing the release date for a game which should be out within two months. Unusual.

Waiting for a new release date is intense. Never know when you pop up the news page and see, "Gran Turismo 5's release date."

I don't mind companys setting embargo's but I wish someone would go against the embargo this time and show Sony that they should follow through with their promise of the release date. I mean what's another few weeks, it's not going to cause the apocolypse, not releasing the info might though. :)

ahem, Gamestops getting set on fire.

I doubt we'll get the release date this month. I know they said they would, but I doubt it. The question for me is, will we get the release date before the original date 11/2.

I don't think that this has anything to do with an embargo. No one has a review copy of GT5 right now. OPM UK mentioned having a review in their last issue because they expected to get their review copy some time in late September or early October.

Exactly

We've got to see what options we'll have with on-line racing. Now my thoughts are on what type of groups with be mad. Take my idea, I'm working on a FIA type racing division with only specific cars allowed. Some of the rules will follow some of the current FIA rule book. Now this is the tricky part making sure that the rules are followed. Yes we'll be able to watch the races. But we will be able to record the races. Or have enough people to watch the races as stewards. I know for a fact I'll be racing in the division. So I'll won't have a chance to watch all the races. So that still leaves how will it be done. Any thoughts or ideas would be great on the matter. And one other thing some of these current racing division need to be rethought through. Don't get me wrong they're great and well managed. With all the number of class divisions don't you think it will be more of a challenge to have lower class divisions and have two differnt cars classes? I think it would be a great and fulfilling challenge to have.

I should have been more clear. I didn't state the embargo was the reason why we haven't seen a review yet. I understand that no one has a review copy of the game and I should have said that. But what I am saying is that when they get the review copy they should release their review as soon as they can. Embargo or not. I mean who wants to take a chance waiting on a review of a game during the holiday season. If they wait on a review they may have to wait till whenever the game is in stock if it sells out during Christmas.

I also think that some magazines and news sites might release a review copy to early. I mean how long do you think that these magazines or sites need to do a in depth and correct reiview. I want to know features of the game not a review because my copy is paid for so I know I'm getting it.

If the game actually comes out at the end of November (unlikely) and the game hasn't been printed yet, is one week enought time for a company to do a correct and justified review?

Hmm you realize that you are only talking about a 1 day difference between being this month and being before the previous release date right? 11/1 would be the only date that would not be this month but before the scheduled release.
I say we get the release date from the game show this week.

As long as Sony doesn't do some over glorified video with lightning bolts, lights flashing, and a car jumping through a ring of fire. That was done at E3 and the flash, is to tell you the truth gone. I'm sure everybody there will be screaming and jumping up and down but I won't until I get that recording of the hot chick from Gamestop telling me my copy has arrived.

edit: I know that my attitude has changed in my posts recently and I am sorry if I am sounding negative all the time but thats just the way it is. I will be excited when I get the game. I'm still excited for the game just not excited waiting on news.

I really doubt that there are many people waiting for the review of GT5 in the sense that they're waiting to see what it gets to determine if they want it. It's one of those games with an established legacy so people that want it are going to be going out to get it right when it comes out.

Hey I didn't know that Sony checked GTPlanet
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/10/24/playstation-around-the-web-what-we-read-121/ (among the list there's the X1 article)

And in the comment section: Jeff Rubenstein "answers" :grumpy:

Just played a 2010 BB demo (In canada), I only played the rally, with the GTR-vspec.

Great physics, and Stunning day-night transitions. Basically 2 of the highlights.

I'm sure more than 50% of GT buyers are average joe gamers, non racers. They wait for reviews and word of mouth especially now with the economy.

Toronto?? please toronto

No, B.C.

However, I must say it wasn't at best buy, But at an EB/Gamestop.
(I just called it the best buy demo)

Im sure there are some in toronto, and personally thought they would have brought it there first (for Canada).

What do you think the chances of seeing the game this year are? They already broke their promise thus far, what do they care if they piss off thousands of GT fans even more?

They care a lot. You should also take into account that their shareholders are also expecting GT5 this year. Especially when you consider that GoW3 was the last major title released on the PS3 and that came out in March.

must check, thanks for the heads up...ok now it has been spotted in Montreal and B.C. good to know

My opinion:

If Sony fails to release the game this year, then things really went wrong. Personally, I think they are busting tail to get it out before "Black Friday". But, to answer your question directly, I would say 75% before the end of the year. And 40% that it is released before the end of November.

Shareholders care about fiscal year numbers. 2010 fiscal year ends in march in JP and the 2011 US fiscal year started this October. Sony is in no hurry.

WHY? People go crazy on black friday cause they "think" everything is cheap, they don't go out to buy regularly priced items.
