This makes sense as Premium cars are the new way of modelling ( future-proof apparantly to an extend ) eventually fully replacing the Standard cars, they just don't use the old way of modelling anymore as that would be pointless and a waste of time so no new additions to the series are Standard.
Standard cars are just old assets, modelled before developing GT5, graphically retouched to add variety ( according to Kaz ) or filler ( according to me ).

Or to put it simply, something they had lying on the shelf and deemed to be still usable.

Hummm, I must enforce SuperShouden's point on this one mate, if that's true how do you explain the Lamborghini Countach pictured in the official GT site as a Standard model?

Yes but on the straights the CCX and Veyron are much faster. I think that the CCX would be quicker on circuits like Laguna Seca, and maybe the Veyron on tracks with long straights and not many technical sections. The CCX needs a very skilled driver to get the best out of it though.

It's in GT PSP, so it's not new to the series, making it standard and not premium.

His point is: The Enzo and GT-R are also in GTPSP but available as Premium cars in GT5...

Oh my G...please PLEASE think, all of the people still arguing about this point, yes Enzo is premium now because PD considers it important enough to be premium, but ALL ALL ALL ALL ALL cars, which have NEVER been in any GT will ALL ALL ALL ALL be premium.

Do any of you guys think if we sign a petition for a definite release date, that PD and Sony will respond? haha cuz the way I see it right now; November is a few days away and we were promised a release date before the end of the month. I mean leaving us in the dust until the last day of October is kinda ridiculous. Now if they don't give a date by the 31st I am willing to make a petition to have them give us something.

I just threw up a little in my mouth... I played this while doing a few laps on GT and it goes to driving like an Albino to the sun...

This could very well be the worst GT intro song ever...

Looks like ill be skipping the intro this time around...:yuck::yuck::yuck:

Wtf PD? This cross marketing stuff is getting out of hand, ok win GT5 at subway, ok cool, but wat does my chemical blowman have to do with GT cars racing or even recent pop culture?:yuck:

The way I understand it the standard cars will be from previous GT games but that does not mean that some of the premium cars have not also appeared before. It does indicate to me anyway that the cars not seen before will be premium cars.

I think that Countach was modelled during the GT4 development or shortly afterwards perhaps ( like that Diablo racecar in GT3 ) which is indeed odd I'll give you that but maybe they expected the Lamborghini licence earlier.
But I don't think it's an indicator for more Standard cars build since as that would be even more odd in my opinion.
Why spend time modelling new additions using an old obsolete method when you already decided to 'future proof' new additions using the new method?

Dude, calm down. I'm not even arguing. Just saying, man. I for one couldn't care less about that Premium/Standard stuff.

Didn't want to be rude and it was not specifically you mentioned by me, it's all, who still debate.

sounds the intro song's going to be the biggest let down in GT5 once it comes out. I need one of Clarkson's metaphors to describe this this atrocity..

After hearing some of the new MCR album I say it sounds very much like weezer. It's nit traditional MCR, which is a good thing IMO.

Have we even heard the song yet? I haven't really looked.

If that is the biggest let down then I will be a happy camper :)

If the music featured in the GTPSP teaser (orchestral MotC) is anything to go by, I don't think they can create an intro that can accommodate both tracks... that didn't work well for GT4.

I really hope Daiko Kasho makes a remix because this is just terrible.

Please tell me you're joking.

I listened to the intro and some bits of the song, and from what I can make out from a live version I don't mind this at all... wait and see how it will fit in with whatever video is they've put together before you all slate it just because of the band and some poor quality footage, and have a little faith, I'm sure it'll be a great way to get us all pumped up for the game. And it's better than bloody Moon Over the Castle or whatever :P
