I don't want tourist trophy, I don't want a psp game, and prologue is a big demo that doesn't represent the final game. I want GT5. "Forza 3 with Kinect controls" is Forza 4. It will be called Forza 4.

This isn't the GT PSP forum or the tourist trophy forum. This is GT5.

My point is just that development is taking a long time.

What has the fact what you want or not, to do with the fact the aforementioned titles made by PD are made after GT4?
That was the proof given they did make more games after GT4 besides GT5, not whether you'd like them or not.

So there's news about GT5 being released and confirmed that it will be released, "Later this year" ...story here

From the article: Earn your chance to drive the Red Bull X1 when Gran Turismo 5 goes on sale later this year", says the company.

"yea sure, later..." is what my girlfriend says that I'am always saying when she asks something. So no, the game isn't coming this year either...

I have been invited to a GT5 release event and after the game was delayed i have been waiting for the new date of the event.

I just got an email asking if i will be availible on November 1st.

They have been waiting for cofirmation of the release date so maybe this is when they will receive the first copies.

Is this the Madrid event?

Sorry if this was mentioned already, this is of course a pretty long thread, but i'm pretty sure the UK Official Playstation Magazine is due out on Friday 29th, and that there is an exclusive review of GT5

There was a preview in the last issue, I would confirm it 100% if I could lay my hands on the ****in magazine, but I seem to have mislaid it :grumpy:

Well, this isn't a Forza forum either.... And the development is taking a long time, yes, but because this itineration is a monumental gap respect to the last one and because they have to do those other games too. Maybe you don't want any of them but that doesn't matter, they cost development time either way you like them or not, just saying.

I respect that and your point. But they could make a GT game follwed by 12 looney tunes games and then go back to GT. That would make looney tunes fans very happy but someone on the GT5 forums pretty upset.

I think what you're saying is that they have not devoted their entire time to GT5. Some has gone to other projects. But time managment is the reason we are on here waiting for a release date. They mismanaged their time and beacuse of that we're not getting it next week.

Reading around, and it seems that Sony wants to introduce a playstation phone pretty soon. I'm thinking this is going to be a big key in GT5 also. If this is introduced it might just tie into GT5 because they will need a main title to drive sales of this phone, and GT would be the way to go. Afterall it was said that you could do things online with GT5, that would be a good tie in with a playstation phone with online content, and with it running a new OS from Google's Android, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

I don't think so.... they are denying all rumors, maybe next year, there is too much that a wallet can take!

A new 3d TV, Home-cinema speakers, 3d glasses, a PS3, GT5! Too much, a PS phone is maybe for next year.

I guess i have to repeat myself. I said I can have fun too. Meaning when you guys joke, I can joke as well. The tone you take, can be the same tone I take. Just because someone ASSUMES that I'm in a bad mood, doesn't mean I am. I've got plenty to be happy about. No reason some corny jokes will get on my bad side! :scared: I'm not 'freaked out' or 'going crazy' I'm just pointing the finger in the other direction.

Sorry fresh, I misinterpreted your posts. That's on me. (:dunce:) 👍

I guess no-one has found the new 'Play' mag?

No, visit the site that I gave, it's officially a test phone for the new PSPhone. They have more than one image, which is why it's official. Sony and Google just deny rumors regardless. Of course they don't want the secret to be out! But According to the article that I read, GT could be one of the main titles that launch for the phone. If not a new game, at least a tie-in to GT5 online content, it's a must. GT is the biggest Playstation title. I can only see something like GT or maybe Metal Gear moving this thing in better numbers if it's branded as a new PSP and a phone.

I have, look at one of those pics it has 'a' & 'b' PS use 'X' & 'O'.

I think that a PSP phone will come early/mid-next year with the GT5 feature remember (On your Laptop/PC or PSP) in this case they might spread time because as I said 3d tv, great sound system, PS3, GT5, PSEye..... it all adds up.

If this is all true, then ole Matthew at 3xg may have the last laugh after all.

Sorry, but how do you know that they've mismanaged their time? Simply because it has been 6 years since GT4, does not mean that they've mismanaged anything. 2005 Interview with Yamauchi:

GT4 Engine Notes: Kazunori Yamauchi Interview
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=116051

Finally, the racing game market seems to be going two ways: the over-the-top action racer; and the more authentic Gran Turismo-style driving experience. Do you think there's space in the console market for both these styles of game, and do you plan to merge the Gran Turismo brand with this other, more action-oriented style?

Kazunori Yamauchi: I don't think we really need to make a definite distinction between these two types of game. The 'flashy' driving game and the more realistic driving game don't need to compete against each other, and I don't think they are going to collide in the future. By this I mean that I do not want to deny people who prefer 'flashy' driving games, or a different kind of automobile lifestyle, access to the GT universe.

To this end, there are opportunities in the future for us to expand the GT universe in different directions while still keeping the core 'realness' of the GT brand at the centre of everything. Imagine that the authenticity of Gran Turismo is a multi-faceted shape with many different faces. That is what I am planning - to satisfy the desires of every automotive lifestyle while still remaining true to the GT brand.

Only when the basics are set can you forge ahead and take things in a new direction. With GT4, I think we have set the basics very well.

Yes, I'm quoting myself (sort of). Shameless promotion for the thread, but I did seek out and post the interview, so I'd appreciate a little leeway. :)

To me, this shows a very clear macro-plan that would take time. PD had a plan, but decided to shift gears and go for a visually higher quality game, while still sticking to what is in red. They lost time, but was it mismanagement? I am not sure that I can call it that from a business point of view, as they sold millions of copies of what you call a demo. That's what I call taking a negative and turning it into a positive; loss becomes gain.

OPINION: GT5:P might not be a full GT style game, but it I've spent as much time with it as Fallout 3, and far more time with it than Dirt 2 or F1:CE. It was money well spent and completely in the spirit of the GT4:P released all those years ago.

Maybe the main problem is that the speed of the tools need to catch up to desires of the creators.

Just played the NFS demo. Very boring. They could have at least added online in it. And no cockpit either
It's a demo. They aren't going to release everything with it. And there technically is online integration within it.

I don't think a cockpit cam would be that cool in such an arcade game.
But man, 🤬 NFS. This is about GT5!

It's not a fake. It's a prototype for an upcoming phone that could be the PSPhone. Sony didn't say it was fake, and whatever source you got that from is lying. You can check one of the above users comments that reflect the words I just said with a link to the sixthaxis's website.

If it is real then hopefully the Ericsson brand has improved...

Running Android is definitely a step in the right direction. Also they need to add a joystick or two to that bad boy.

And a UMD slot.

Does anyone think they're going to build the X1? Remember in the E3 trailer when Kaz was closing the giant oven door. Well we now know it's the X1 but does that lead us to believe their creating a fully functional X1?

I really hope so, use it to break a bunch of speed records. Top Gear get to do a segment on it. Takes around high 20s mid 30s to lap Top Gear test track. Oh it would be so awesome if all this came true hahah

I don't think sony would want to spent any more GT5 related expenses and just get the game out there and get some of their expenses back.
