I don't think sony would want to spent any more GT5 related expenses and just get the game out there and get some of their expenses back.

I don't think it has much to do with Sony just like the GT by Citronen was a collaborative effort between PD and Citronen, this would be between Red Bull and PD. I'm sure Kaz can do side projects that has nothing to do with Sony.

So 2 more days left for Sony to reveal the new rls. date :)

Again a Sony classics, pushing everything till the last minute... I think today must be this paris thing and if we get no rls. date than again lies lies lies...

Im thinking the SEMA show is more likely.

Although you're whining quite often in your posts (no offence buddy ), I have to agree with you on this one, so damned typical.

Well, I don't know if RB or Kaz have the finances to produce something of this caliber simply for testing and fun.

It's already friday in Japan so there will likely be no release date this month. Unless they wait and release it after hours in japan and during business hours in the US, which is doubtful.
Good ole pd/sony blowing butt smoke.

For those not yet racing outside of the video game realm: If you think about the time GT5 has been in development (it still isn't out), how many of you think about where you would be if you had decided to do some grassroots rallying, SCCA autocrossing, karting or etc.? 5/6 years is a long time to hatch and develop a plan.

Agreed :D

I know man I don´t know why but it´s true :scared:

Ok another whining now but why the hell did they need this lies all the time? The new release date will be revealed in october... Then you all know what to think about this "The game will be out before christmas" thing... Ready for another dissapointment everybody?? :)

Oh and by the way, I don´t care about the game all day but for some reason, when I come here and start to check the new posts and see again that there are no news, I´m getting pumped and start to whine and get angry for nothing :D In reality I really don´t care that much about the game the hole day because I got to do many other things...

When the first GT5 trailer came out, I was in the last year of elementary school. When GT5 will come out, I would have finished my first year of university.:ill:

The delay wasn't announced at this time. I'm not saying that the new release date will be announced Friday (US time), but just because it hasn't been announced now doesn't really mean much.

I wouldn't say so.
I've got a friend in Japan who works for a game developer. Working on sundays or late at night isn't unusual in Japan. Sometimes he updates the company website on weekends at 23:XX JST

But a big official announcement on the weekends? I'm sure it has happened before, but I haven't heard of one specifically. Anyone care to give some examples?

Anyways, I think it's Sony who's going to release the date, not PD.

I think it would make more sense to release the news US time anyways.

Anybody notice that Gamestop's Turismo Tuesday didn't have a unlock for week 3? Maybe they only had enough content for 5 weeks, and they are stalling the content until they get a firm firm release date.

Sounds plausible, so either next week or the week after that they're updating it, my guess.

It's a demo. They aren't going to release everything with it. And there technically is online integration within it.

I know its a demo but other demo racers have included online like blur and grid. I wouldn't buy the game based on that demo. just saying.

Exactly. People seem to keep forgetting that Sony is the publisher and therefore is the one that decides the release date, Polyphony Digital is the developer and only develops the game.

I have done a little bit of Hillclimb and autocross. But I can't afford to do that for a while. GT5 is much cheaper. If I break my car doing hillclimb and autocross it's very expensive and the car I used is my daily driver. I'm trying to save up for a project car so I can get back into grassroots motorsport.

I didn't even notice this existed! Interesting. They probablly stopped thanks too the delay though.

It takes longer than that to become an elite athlete/sports person or the best in your field. If you train 4 hours a day including weekend and holidays (including the days when you're sick), it will take close to 7 years to become an olympic athlete, a master carpenter, a really good F1 driver etc. It's the 10,000 hour rule that applies to anything that a person does. For example most olympic athletes like a swimmer train for almost 10 years before they've finally made it. In short, there is no shortcut.

Well according to their website its On or about 11/30/2010!!

Interesting. Here is the direct link. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&XID=O:Ps398272:dg_ggldf&productId=8198552921666238185#additionalImage1%22

By the way, here are a few more details I pulled from the PSM3 article.

1. They mention another theme for the course creator called "Dawn in Rome".

2. Kind of related to the above, they also mention choosing "street circuits" themes from the creator

3. They say that the "special events will regularly get updated to keep things fresh"

4. The playview demo. You know the one with all of the cars on the screen. And you can zoom in and out in full detail, etc. They say that is "in GT5". Here is the video of it if you are not sure what I'm talking about. Personally, I think it will make for a great start to the "GT Museum" that has been mentioned elsewhere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd6aa...layer_embedded

5. They say that you choose your favorite 100 cars from GTPSP and transfer those cars. Not every car you have.

6. Also, they mention that the WRC License is only up to 2008. Maybe some of the guys that watch WRC closer can clarify the impact (if any) this will have on GT.

I'm not really looking at this issue from the perspective of becoming a professional racer. I am also aware that racing in the physical requires more money than plunking down the dollars and cents for GT5. 5 - 6 years is plenty of time to hatch and develop a goal/plan though.

I think we can all agree that the experience of driving a real car outweighs the experience of sitting in front of a television. This does not mean I am under any illusions either. Just because I decide to join SCCA (here in the US) and solo or get into karts doesn't mean I am any closer to driving on the Nurburgring in Germany. GT5 provides a taste, but in my opinion pales in comparison to physically driving on a lower level.

I still love the GT series and am quite optimistic about what GT5 will provide. I just pose the question as a way to reflect upon the time spent waiting for this game. Also, as you say, it takes time to become great at anything.
