On or ABOUT any date is not a date. It's more crap being thrown our way.

About the 8th annual GT Awards ... who the hell cares and should care? Make your game and stop showboating at stupid, crappy award ceremonies. You'll be taken hell of a lot more seriously if you stick to schedules and not hand out hunks of metal dubbed as awards.

Here's an idea: Skip the ceremony, get your selves (nice word) back in your game studios, and PRODUCE RESULTS.

It's getting annoying waiting for them to come through on their word and instead of hearing a date, you hear some more crap they're exhibiting themselves in. If they had bypassed all this crap publicity crap in the past 5 years, we'd probably not even be here speculating on release dates, but rather, anticipating the next iteration in the series.

I'm probably gonna get some heat from saying this (wouldn't be the first time), but Its a game. Honestly, this frustraition over a game is really just sad. Is there not anything else more important then this game? And then you make this really unfounded claims as if to suggest these awards shows force PD to stop everything they are doing just because only Kaz is going there. You seem to forget that these same "crappy awards" don't necessarily mean halting everything and that they have ended up contributing cars in the game (Morrison Corvette Ring a bell?) Seriously, chill out. In the end regardless, its only a game.

just noticed they had some footage of what the X1 looked like before Adrian's assistance. Thought some of you might be interested.

looks about the same. I guess newey added some touches to it, put some different features to 'finalize' it. I'm not sure it was just Newey or just Kaz, but I think it was a collaboration and Kaz's idea of a super race car faster around a track than anything seen. Newey just got on board with it and said it's plausible. This is what they came up with.

Basically, it was. Its been pretty announced as a collaboration between PD and Red Bull. You are right though, essentially it was an idea first made by Kaz and when it was brought to Adrian Newey, he applied his racing know how, including the famous banned technologies, into it and made it something possible to actually build.

I'm not really looking at this issue from the perspective of becoming a professional racer. I am also aware that racing in the physical requires more money than plunking down the dollars and cents for GT5. 5 - 6 years is plenty of time to hatch and develop a goal/plan though.

I think we can all agree that the experience of driving a real car outweighs the experience of sitting in front of a television. This does not mean I am under any illusions either. Just because I decide to join SCCA (here in the US) and solo or get into karts doesn't mean I am any closer to driving on the Nurburgring in Germany. GT5 provides a taste, but in my opinion pales in comparison to physically driving on a lower level.

I still love the GT series and am quite optimistic about what GT5 will provide. I just pose the question as a way to reflect upon the time spent waiting for this game. Also, as you say, it takes time to become great at anything.

Another thing to consider is that passion and hard work goes hand in hand. You need passion in order to continue doing the same regimented routine day in and day out. It may not necessarily result in greatness but you'll definitely reap more benefit and satisfaction. And the best thing about having passion in your endeavor is that you won't notice time.

That was one of my biggest worries about GT5. It's "supposedly" been near release for a couple years now, which I believe. The only reason they didn't release was because there were too many bugs, and I'm sure they wanted a holiday release, so they'd put it off a whole 'nother year before it being ready...thus giving them time to add more content. So, with all the "unofficial" delays, I was getting worried that a lot of the better cars would be outdated by the time the game came out.

I don't think the cars will necessarily be outdated if the physics are done to the highest level. I've just read a interview with netKar Pro creator/developer, Stefano Casillo and even he said that the GT Academy physics/FFB felt "net-Karish" (here's the interview: http://www.radicalsonline.com/conte...peaks-about-his-life-simracing-and-netKar-PRO). That's actually good considering a lot of sim racers place netKar at the same level as iRacing when it comes to physics and FFB.

Games like NFS would have the latest cars but is there any satisfaction in driving the latest Porsche 918 Spyder in the game. If there is, it's merely visual and cosmetic. So no matter many cars are up to date (in the game) but if the underlying physics is nothing more than to provide a few fundamental differences in performance, then I would say there's no point. I'd rather have 2001 cars but with the best physics to date than the other way around.

It was Newey's idea to use the fan, the rear diffuser and wing was completely altered - can clearly see that in the images- and changed the front up as well.

The article said the original's top speed was 248mph, 5gs lateral acceleration. When Adrian came on it changed to over 280mph pulling 8gs. He made a huge contribution to the project.

yea but it's not really that fast. A mako shark is faster but I just found out that the fastest fish is the black marlin (sailfish) it can reach 80mph...80 freakin MPH!!!!!! it's a FISH!

:drool::drool::drool:

I feel bad about someone who had on its way on 80mph...

Go to the Japanese Gran-turismo site. It is at the bottom of the news on the x1. It is a link that will download them to your computer.

for some reason i like kaz's version better. The fan isn't the problem, it's just that kaz's version looks more 'flowing'. Still, not much difference. the main difference would be the rear, looks like a double rear wing in Kaz's version, and then behind the front wheels, the fenders look a bit different, more like a LeMans prototype.

You're right, but honestly, what the hell is on or about 11/30/10? It's either November 30th, or it isn't - simple as that. That's like me suggesting my birthday is on or about September 5th. If that's their idea of clever, then, good lord. :ouch:

For a racing game this looks pretty good IMO 👍

There are just hair physics missing like those in FF13
And we'll see him most of the time with a helmet anyway.
It looks very impressive !
Even in compare with other games like FPS , TPS , ...

An aerodynamic thing is also hydrodynamic, becouse air and water are both fluid.
In fact some car manufacturer like Mercedes study fish and apply some fluid dynamics laws on car (Mercedes Bionic concept car )

Hey guys with this competition in Australia, the one that could win you a signature edition, it says "Tell us in 25 words or less, what is your favourite GT supercar of all time, and why?*
Is this a GT supercar as in a car that is in the GT series or is it just a GT supercar?

First, the game is finished and Sony are most likely sorting out when they can get it printed.

I believe it was also stated this car will be available as free DLC, so this won't be causing a delay.
