Yo dawg, I heard you like delays, so we delayed your delay so you can wait while you wait.

@Racecar.
Because we are a bunch of sour puss's. :)

Why? Don't care who announces it or how, just that it gets announced.

Just like I said, they want laser shows, fireworks, and a damn car jumping through a ring of fire. Everyone there will cheer, scream, and bow down with excitement. I guess that is what Sony thinks it is all about.

But everyone will forgive them, but I don't think this lack of information will be forgotten so easily.

How sad is this, my calendar app just reminded me of...

:lol::lol:... My iCal is set to go off tomorrow with a 1 day reminder, but the message is a little more pathetic, "Gran Turismo 5 Arrives."

I don't know why I haven't reset it, it's almost as if I am trying to give myself something to be sad about. :) Or I'm still waiting for a new bloody release date. :ouch:

If this were the first announcement I would agree with them perhaps but they already had their chance for celebration, they already did announce the 'final' date.
Maybe they can have a party themselves broadcasted live for all I care when GT5 is in the shops.

I edited mine to say 'Gran Turismo 5 Not Released'. Wouldn't want to forget that! :D

Do they have to announce it at a game show or car show? Maybe it's just me but once they announce it simply on their site it spreads like a wildfire beyond control, we live in the information age for crying out loud, no need for a physical announcement anymore.....

Well, announcing it at a show is supposed to allow them to reach more mainstream and automotive press that might not otherwise run with an announcement made on its own. Everyone here will find out no matter how they announce the date, so it is a better business practice to make the announcement at a show. Of course, that doesn't make the wait easier.

Ken block does things like that regularly

Sorry but that would perhaps still be a perfect excuse 10 years ago but everyone is already aware that it will arrive and when they don't it will be announced around the web within minutes even to those who will only watch those game shows or car shows ( or gaming and car-related sites ) online when they simply announce it on their website.
It's just a delay, not worthy of a full second announcement with all the fanfare and glitter associated, especially since what happened last time...
Would me more sensible and classy to me at least to do it low key, the hype-train that automatically follows does the rest, but then again who am I?

Tested GT5 demo today, and it was so fun to drive other laps than in Prolog. Testet with 3D too and it was really nice. You got the right feeling:) It was fun to drive rally again and testet the nightdriving. Looks really great and I`m glad to see that it was so good and the full game had to be the winner over all..Now, I really cant wait...:)

That sorta makes sense, but Sony would have totally failed to realize info like a release date would go absolutely viral. Sony is being asinine if it's just sitting on a date to announce a release date. An announcement in Paris today would have blown up the Monday news cycle, but no, Sony doesn't think that way because it's Sunday at a minor Euro games show. Because Sony is a big huge Japanese corporation, that like most big huge Japanese corporations, can't think outside the box to save its life.

This leads me to believe that Sony's being a big giant as:censored: about a prompt announcement or the game's not ready until next year.

Just poop out a release date, Sony. The gaming press will be on it like dingoes on Aussie babies.

Chances are they are not announcing anything because they know GT5 will not ship in 2010. The longer they hold out, the more PS3-GT5 related sales they will generate, as well as GT5 pre-orders.

I think shipping next year would have the opposite effect. People would more likely cancel their preorders and stop buying PS3s. Sony and PD are already laughingstocks over this, but shipping next year would totally wreck their reputations.
