I wonder how the damage system works. If it is like in, for example forza. You crash your car in a race and then it gets repaired automaticly after that race. Or if you crash your car, it stays that way until you fix it. That would be very nice, cause then you realy wouldn't want to crash cause it would cost you alot of money.

And even better, if it is like that when you play online. Smashing cars = expensive races.

I don't think PD has said anything about this, and maybe it's to much to ask for. But I sure hope it got a system like that. :)

I think shipping next year would have the opposite effect. People would more likely cancel their preorders and stop buying PS3s. Sony and PD are already laughingstocks over this, but shipping next year would totally wreck their reputations.

I don't know if you can further wreck Sony/PD's reputation further when it comes to credibility. Furthermore, if my speculation proves right, I venture to say that by canceling all pre-orders of GT5, which was a big deal, the Russian retailer forced their hand. Instead of having one delay announcement before the end of the year they will have to have two. Don't forget, regardless of what the forever optimists say, this game was due to ship to "the public" in Japan last March.

I do think Sony care about their image and reputation, PD is just making a huge mess of GT5.

As always, I sincerely hope I am wrong.

^^^I hope you are, too. Sony/PD's rep is ruined, but their finances are still reasonably intact since game and console sales have been up for more than a year. This delay can (and probably will) ultimately break them.

Ken block does things like that regularly

And THATS why he cant rally for nothing, maybe if he spent more time doing pacenote practice and mixed surface testing he could get somewhere decent in WRC.

Then again hes not even close to the same caliber as Kimi Raikkonen yet Kimi is doing MUCH worse in WRC.

A new Stig will have been picked from the Stig Farm soon, and it probably won't be a white one this time around, maybe they'll have time to update it now.

I was thinking of buying it, until I played the demo :yuck:

The handling is awful.

But I have nothing else to do to pass time until GT5, and Modern Warfare 2 has destroyed any hope I had for the CoD series to be revived since W@W.

Honestly, get off the guy's back. He's managed to pull off a 6th place finish at France so while he's not up to snuff like the regulars that have been doing this for years, he's not as terrible as people often exaggerate him to be.

I think they will try as hard as they can to push GT5 true for this year. I've read that Sony shipped 3,5 million Ps3's this holiday. Way more than the can sell without GT5. If the retailers can not sell them , they won't order new stock for the next coming month's which is a bad thing for Sony. They really need it out before Christmas. I still think it could be November , max early december.

GT5 being delayed will definitely boost the sales of NFS Hot Pursuit. I'm only buying it because I don't have GT5.

It's completely arcade and awful!! I don't think it should be considered as an alternative to GT5 at all... There's really no other competitor IMO, apart perhaps from F1 2010 which is a good simulation game...

Not a competitor with GT5 by any measure.

But its fun, and it will be available in November. So I'm buying it to pass time until Sony/PD wake up, smell the coffee and DO SOMETHING USEFUL.

Edit:
I hope these two are available in the game...

Like I said, hes not even close to the caliber of Kimi but Kimi is doing much worse, meaning Ken Block of California is doing better than an F1 World Champion.

Compliment? Yes.

Not to mention hes a good decade older than Kimi and most WRC drivers and he was basically a skateboarder\fashion designer prior to his relatively late entry to motorsport.

So all those factors are also a testament to his skill.

How can you say Ken is doing better than Kimi when he has to retire from practically all his races? Doesnt make sense..
I do like the guy though, and glad he makes an appearance in the WRC now and then. Hopefully next year he can do a full schedule.
