I was going to post a picture of a suspicious white Ford Bronco with GT5 copies falling out, but I figured it was too much work and I would probably get some stupid infraction for being funny

Too funny, I just thought the same thing. Atleast with the police escort, they could collect the fallen copies.

The GT5 budget was $60 million dollars not $60 billion. However, that's $60 million solely for producing the game. Making the millions of copies of the game that they need to will probably bump it up. Plus, you've got the TV ads and everything. The final cost just might hit $80 million, which is the amount allotted for the game.

Either way, GT5 is the second most expensive game ever made. The first, is GTA IV 'cause of all the music licenses.

The most expensive games are MMOs. WoW is probably way into the hundred millions and apparently Bioware's The Old Republic budget is over 300 million (I doubt it's quite that much, but it's up there).

Hey guys, I have some info which could be a release date.

I just got back from a local department store (The Warehouse lol) where i caught up with an old friend who works as a local distributor for..... a certain website in NZ. After chatting awhile about different games i asked him if he knew anything about GT5, "such as a release date" i said. He smiled, (that "i knew you were going to ask that" smile) and told me only one thing, they are allowed to courier the game out on November 30, which confirmed my suspicions. This means the release date (for NZ at least) is probably either the 1st or 2nd of December, (as various websites are allowed in NZ by game companies to send the game out a day early to allow for couriering, i got GTA4 in 2008 a day early! lol)

Oh, one thing. The guy on the radio that does the quick tech reviews did one of GT5 today. He said December... I know, pretty useless.

Funny is though unlike the majority of people working at Gamestop, Joey actually would have closer connection since not only did he drive the car, but he is one of the drivers that actually worked with PD on the Nascar portion. As crazy and just absurd as this might sound, I would bet he would know a hell of alot more then Gamestop would about GT5.

Getting lucky and knowing the correct date, are two completely different things. Just because they picked a date that ended up being the date Sony mentioned doesn't mean they were right...and in the end, they turned out to be wrong 'cause the game was delayed.

But, Nothing is official until it's official.

maybe maintence of servers etc but it's adding every month, and addons like cataclysm aren't part of original WoW release so it can't be considered.

Also ABP cost 100 mln and they went bust in a few weeks..

Money only can't get you a good game.

my inlaws work at Gamestop if the employees are saying 2011 release its there own ignorace they are suppose to let everyone know that the 2011 date listed is just a place holder and that it may still comeout before christmas

How exactly does the delay make them wrong? That was the original release date simple as that, nothing "wrong" about it. Any date they've been putting up afterwards has been place holder until Sony gives them the final one so its not as if they have been pretending like they know.
 
Little old New Zealands info seems to be getting neglected here, which is funny because we are usually the first country to reveal release dates for big games like this.

What? of course you would know better than me wouldn't you? New Zealand's websites arent monitored as strictly as American websites like Amazon.com, so we usually post information that would be held back by other websites. Case in point, GTA4's release date was leaked by a NZ website forcing R* games to announce it prematurely.

Maybe the other websites that are listing that date? There are plenty that are doing it.

Edit: Maybe I should not argue with a Kiwi, they have to feel good about something for once in their lives right?

Hey you dont have to be such an a$$hole, all im trying to do is share valid information, it seems like all your trying to do is shoot everbody else down, yes ive only got 5 posts and no im not a "die hard" Gran Turismo fan, but i decided to join this forum and share some information i had about this game with everyone, i couldnt give a rats if it comes out next week or next month really, but i know other people do. So get off your high horse and stop being so bloody Australian.

Not sure why people are trying to get a date leaked, they already announced that Sony's official release date and details for GT5 will be in a matter of days, not weeks.
 
Thanks Eastley, but i think the sony website has only had that date up for a couple of days havent they? I might be mistaken but i think mightyape has had Nov.30 as an estimated release date since the game was announced to be gold.
