I don't know what your problems are? Are you just sitting at home, staring at the GTPlanet News page, waiting for an update? Are you just sitting at home in front of your PS3, waiting for GT5 to appear to finally play a video game?

I have tons of games to play, though GT is my all time favourite, there are many other games, that will keep me busy till Christmas and beyond, if necessary. Its not only racing games out there!

Sure, Iam disappointed, that GT5 takes so long to finally hit the stores, but I prefer to get a perfect product rather than an rushed and unfinished game without all the content!

I can see you don't know what our problems are. Maybe it's because you aren't me and I'm not anybody else here either so while some things are fine for you that may not be true for us, for any number of reasons.

I'm not of a nature to tell people what they should or shouldn't be feeling because how would I know. All I do know it that many people are waiting for this and the volume of comments on these forums show that.

Anyway I'm now going back to sitting in front of my PS3 waiting for the GT5 prophet to appear to tell me of the arrival of the new king.

One thing comes to my mind all the Time:
Everything (most everything) we see are Fan-made pics, videos and stuff. Most things we know are confirmed, are confirmed by fans . Where is PD or Sony when it comes to the promotion?
Could it be they are thinking: GTPlanet is a very thankful promoter and don´t cost money? I mean serrious what would we know about GT5 without GTplanet? Not much thats for sure.

They know the fans will buy the game. All we are to the marketing men is a figure at the bottom of a balance sheet and a small one at that. The big numbers come from the people who need told about the game and that demographic has a notoriously short attention span. There is absolutely no point investing time and money in hype until the very millisecond before you release.

at all those people, who, say there are many other games for ps3, for me this is not the case, most of them are not my kind, i prefer racing -games and if your played the gt-series ,shift and grid , as dirt does not feel right.
i am one of those people that want to buy exact what i want and if the store doesn't have that, i' m doing hell to wast my money on buying something similar

@Pentargam
Could be right, some Games are Promoted after the release :(

@GT-fan
You should try some PC Sims there are a few good, more than on the PS3. I think the PS3 is the wrong platform for you?

yeah, you are maybe right, but i hate pc-games because of the never ending tune-up for those pc's.

There is nothing new here. However, it is yet another article where the obvious skepticism and sarcasm towards the ridiculous GT5 saga.

As inept as Sony seems to be, the more I read, the more it seems to me PD is at fault here. Badly managed project.

I am sorry if it has already been posted. If not, note the 1st video, the sound is good but there still seems to be no neutral in the shifting options, which is very sad;

What can you say? XBOX fanboys are right, GT has become a joke.
Before - Income Tax = Wheel for PS3, and waiting for GT's spring/summer release.
After - Income Tax = XBOX = Forza3 = Wheel for XBOX = GT can kiss my ass.

So I guess this is likely my farewell to GTPlanet also, as I really have no reason to continue visiting, since it would seem GT5 won't be coming out in my lifetime, so I'll be selecting from "alternative" sources of racing enjoyment.

Guess I might start looking into PC games also, apparently iRacing, etc are very good also.

I suggest you ask a buddy who has forza to play it before you commit, if you haven't already tried it. My love affair with forza 3 lasted all of 3 weeks. As soon as I hit year 5 it stopped feeling like a game and started feeling like a chore. It's a grind. Just my observation.

this is good. The more negative press sony gets, the more likely they are to get their **** together. As for this being PD's fault, how did you come to that conclusion?

As for the video, is that prologue? Is the focus in prologue I haven't bothered looking at any of the fords.

Assuming it is Prologue (I can't watch at the moment due to my bandwidth being 'shaped' for the moment) neutral is available if you use a H Pattern shifter.

Zooming in shows
"Course change"
"Regulations"
and more thats hard tomake out. This clearly looks like the host/server/private event options, which appear very thorough

That's the biggest news in a loooong time. Does this warrant its own thread even? Let the suspicion what the symbols mean begin! I'll start by guessing that ... (the ones I'm fairly confident about in bold - please add your suggestions)

1) in the line above Regulations
Symbol 1: a lock. Probably means closed user group or open for anyone.
Symbol 2: strange symbol, setting at "8". I suspect "Number of laps"
Symbol 3: Flag-Settings
Symbol 4: A symbol with a car?. Could be damage settings or standing/rolling start.
Symbol 5: Looks like a chat-symbol.
Symbol 6: a number of users-symbol. Setting at "9".
Symbol 7: a racing helmet. My guess: "Number of racers"

2) Regulations
Symbol 1: Hmm. Could be specific cars you can restrict it to or Stock/Tuned restriction.
Symbol 2: Drivetrain
Symbol 3: Displacement Limit
Symbol 4: Power Points Limit
Symbol 5: Horse Power limit
Symbol 6: Weight limit
Symbol 7: Physics
Symbol 8: Tyres

The article is about GT5 and specifically mentions the sound in the Focus clip, so it must be. It is evident the car is in 1st gear and the brake is applied. Sad.

To me, all the evidence points at PD not having it together. That's not to say Sony does not share a lot of the blame. The development of the PSP was not something that happened overnight, nor the new 3D technology, so they have been working on it for quite some time. PD is owned by Sony, they have been privy of the technologies and a timeline to incorporate them must have been given some time ago.

This Christmas/Winter/Spring would indeed have been ideal for Sony to launch GT5, no other significant racing game anywhere on site. I believe the same goes for the Summer since F1 2010 will probably not ship until the Fall. Besides, the 2010 fiscal year for Sony starts in April, any boost to the PS3 sales would be welcomed at any time. On top of that, Sony's and the PS3's image are being significantly tarnished by the vaporware status of the game.

Additionally, in all we have seen, there is little to show for the past 3 years since GT5p. Even the TT demo looks and mostly feels like GT5p, the same goes for the videos. In terms of the game "formula", I personally think GT5 was no more than an updated GT4 as a project. Then came other games advancements in terms of damage, weather, night/day racing, multiplayer, etc., and Sony/PD were forced back to the drawing board. Above all, I think last Fall's Forza 3 shocked them into rethinking the features. I hate to say it, but Forza 3 shows a product and project well managed, advancing by leaps and bounds despite all its shortcomings. F3 is, as of now, the benchmark since GT5 is vaporware, hence a better game all around and they have shown they LISTEN to their fans. In fact, I fear if GT5 does release by the end of the year, when Forza 4 comes out it will have surpassed it in short order, given how much faster they develop the game.

At least, that's how I see it. Regardless of who is at fault, as a fan, given my commitments, I give GT5 until June. If no encouraging news have come out by then I will pack it up and switch platform (PC or XBox). Life is too short and I am too old for this sort of b*** s***.

Whats sad? If you don't turn the clutch on in prologue, GT will do it for you, that includes when you stop with the brake on. Enable H pattern and clutch and you will have to do it all, want to free rev it, then you need to either put it in neutral or hold the clutch in.

Don't threaten, if life is too short and you're too old then do it now.

True, but if you are paddle shifting or sequentially you can't. In other games you can. So you are still limited. Am I wrong?

What is more irritating to me is not being able to get to reverse in those 2 modes, other than using the "∆". I am sorry but that is lacking this day and age, most "real" cars do just that.

As far as switching, I appreciate your concern. However, and sadly, I made significant investments based on Sony/PD misleading statements. Like I said, I also have commitments though the end of May actually.

Cheers.

I don't know why they changed the title from Vision GT to Gran Turismo 5. Vision GT sounds much more appropriate. A vision.💡

Are people really ditching GT5 and the PS3 because we don't have a release date or because the Japanese launch was delayed?

Only the ones that were never really aboard. I'm thinking everyone on GTP will still buy the game, but I wish there were a more effective way to show our displeasure with what has happened. Instead of insulting fellow posters, we could send our frustration straight to Sony's gut.

Yes, i will buy the game only when it goes on the bargain bin. I guess i am somewhat on board.

Sony/PD is trying to see how far they can push the customers and how much they can get away with, apparently they can get away with a lot.

I've just posted more online race management screens on the home page.

One of the awesome pics Jordan posted on the Home page!

I think we have a weather option (set at 3? or setting 3?) and on/off for damage. :)

Anyone know what the DLS % is on the top right corner?
