When zoomed in, the image on the left shows a checker flag and a number 3. The image to the right of it, shows a car's front view and what could be a second car hitting it from behind. Maybe it is the collisions option on/off. There are larger buttons at the top left that read "Event Mode", "Event Settings" which is the active one, and "Regulations". The weather icon on the upper right side could mean the actual conditions at that location since it is giving the date and time as well. Hard to tell.

Its really cool how PD released those screen shots, i guess there might even new info soon. The UI is really clean, i GT5 will really be a huge game with nascar and wrc there are probably even more options than those based on the event.

Looks like the icon next to the chequered flag (which has to be number of laps), is a blank flag with none. So this has to be whether there are flags for the race. eg. red, yellow, black etc.

The driver helmet is number of drivers, and the one before that must be no of spectators. (or is that number of members and number of drivers), so in this case you can have one spectator and 8 drivers a total of 9 members.

Man i can't wait for this game seeing all those online features makes me want this game even more sad sad sad

I'm pretty sure that not the online features.. Kaz said we will be able to set up car clubs and racing leagues

I'm sure there's more to the online but it seems really rich and deep even now

Also unless there is a scroll bar for the members list there is only room for 14 members.

I measure it out myself I would agree. But the silver line next to list.. seems that will be the scroll. PD confirmed 16 player ONLINE race.

Probably for the NASCAR races.

Not necessarily. If there's damage included then they might yellow flag for wrecks.

Also the two cars crashing icon might be to turn on or off impact penalties. If the penalties are as bad as in prologue this might get a fair bit of use :sly:

With damage, there is no reason for impact penalties.

Hmmmm, depends who comes out of it worse. I'm pretty sure the people who like to bash everyone out their way will find the best way to inflict damage on others with the least amount of damage to themselves.

This is true :(

I lost a race in GT5P because one of these types ruined it for me.

These new images don't show anything about weather or day/night. Notice that the game screen is still daylight when the time states 10PM

That's probably the time it actually was. I don't expect there to be real time Day/Night cycles, just the day/night option and maybe dynamic on the 24hour races.

Check how the online race menu looks like

Looks very PC-ish , something straight out of rFactor or NASCAR 2003..ultra impressive... much more serious then your average pick up race you see on console racers. In other pics it even gives you the split times of other drivers...wow...and it appears it even gives you the ability to watch other drivers on track like rFactor and NASCAR 2003

Kaz has this one nailed...the wait will be worth it. Until then I'll enjoy MAG and my life, both of which will disappear when GT5 launches

EDIT:
I notice it displays the tempature, could GT5 actually support track and air tempature that affects tire grip and engine performance?

yes it looks very unique and very quality interface,,This is THE real driving simulator. it will be worth to wait but how much will we wait? vague

It race menu screen looks like a more complicated version of the B-spec screen during races done in B-spec mode in GT4.

It'll be out sometime this year, so if they say November I'll sigh and move on with my life.

Sometimes its easy for me and alot of people to get caught up in GT5, when in reality theres alot of things to do in life. I know to some life is racing, everything else is just waiting, but hey the racing season is about to start up so I'll get my fix that way....along with the occassional NASCAR 2003 enduro

Indeed, very sophisticated

I loved that one 👍

If it's there it's certainly for a damn good reason ;) fingers crossed.

'Free run' instead of going to lobby between races and waiting for everyone to press start?

It could also mean practice lap/run or as it did in GT4, practice run prior to some of the race could also determine grid positioning (ie. Qualifying Lap).
