Isn't there someone who can buy out Yamauchi ? Take over his shares en bring out the game to the shops (europe) within a month or so? ;-)

I love the movies that contain footage of the nurburgring! Can''t wait to drive those cars on the ring. I recently bought a FullHD plasma and a PS3 slim. So why wait?

I like how we can see suspension working - for example after T1 before left hander.

And after watching comparison video - I second my own opinion ;) that Nurb in GT5 is definitely too narrow...GT games have their scale problem and GT5 did not dill with it...

You couldnt be more wrong.

Not that in that real video there was very clear engine note in any speeds and wind noise was not overwhelming.
Note he never really goes past 100mph (165kph) on the speedo, and when he does the wind noise is increased, especially at the beginning, before the 1 minute mark.
If this taxi driver went faster the wind noise would increase.
I know what your getting at, in GT4 it could be excessive with some cars, but the wind noise doesn't bother me, I guess it bothers you though. Fair enough.
I don't hear this with Prologue. Maybe because it never bothered me.

I have no problem passing or being passed at the Ring, but that is GT4.
I don't see why PD would narrow the track for GT5.
I've read others have widened their version and for NFS Shift it is different in spots and seem incorrect to real videos.
For online a few diehards. Nurburgring is too long for the average John Doe to have good racing

Nurburgring is overrated. Narrow, few passing opportunites despite 300 turns

I
I LAN race the Ring every week and have no issues racing with others.
Again about the passing, plenty of room and even more opportunities at many corners, in and out.
How many lanes are needed to pass? I think 2 is plenty.
I would like it more if a chicane were on the T10 to T11 stretch to the finish line, but without it, it does invite plenty of drafting to pass your opposition.

I'm not saying your wrong, as those are your opinions.
Like Spa, it's a long track and that alone is very attractive to me.

good comparison video - Sunny and HD in an M5 - the bright green on the sun lit trees doesn't look so unrealistic now does it? :)
That guy is drifting the M5 pretty easily with passengers :sly:

At what time is he drifting? I don't have the patience to wach the whole vid but wouldn't mind seeing drifting on the Nurb.

Anybody remember Bullseye and the immortal words "Let's look at what you could of won"

Well here is the Gran turismo version.

You don't put the cover art on your website and then delay the game - thats like taking sweets of a kid.

PD do the honorable thing and put us all out of our misery - a simple announcement on your website isn't to much to ask for now is it?

Come to think of it aside from the video which shows the Roma and Madrid circuit which actually didn't even hit PSN we have recieved nothing from Sony or PD no videos no teasers no demos only a Delay everything else was captured by a "fan with a cam"so highly unlikely we will be getting anything in the next month or so(Hope not)

Agree, Nordschleife is king of all tracks and I'll probably spend there 80% of GT5 if there's no other such interesting tracks like Spa or Bathurst.

difference in camera angles and field of view. It felt narrow in GT4 because of the SD graphics, but with HD now, and better physics fidelity it should not be an issue

PD have measured the Ring and taken over 80,000 photos and videos, took em a whole month so it's more accurate than you think :)

The Nurb is a good cruising track. Like taking a country side drive 👍

at the 2 turns where that building is - 4'28 and the next turn after.
and one more at after he passes the Subaru at 8'55

All quite easy, much easier than you can do in most games. He's not even using a 200 degree wheel, or madly spinning the wheel around super fast ;)
It certainly is next to impossible in the Time trial with a wheel, and even in the drift friendly LFS, is still harder than it should be!
He turns in hard, steps on the gas and easy counter steer, and then straightens up smoothly. No need to flick the car in. No dramas, no major snap back, or fishtails...

And people, note the engine sounds, it sounds like the stock Z in the Time Trial. It's not overblown like other racing games would have you believe for stock cars or distorted :)

Plus the tyres scream a lot when he pushes hard, and is pretty high pitched!
Yes annoying, but that's reality for ya :sly:

It's just a really enjoyable track to drive on. Everybody has different tastes but for me it's one of my favourite tracks ever.

Likewise people make a lot of fuss over Silverstone, but I personally find it not even remotely fun to drive round. Everyone has their favourites, and just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's overrated. I'd rank Spa higher than most tracks to be honest.

I don't know if I'm off-topic but this is what I made. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Yeah. Having driven the track in NFS:Shift, it doesn't seem all that spectacular to me. I'm sure it's the best track in the world to local people that live around it though.

Not sure what i see in it, but it has been one of my favorite after playing it on ToCA 3. Just like Phillip Island, love that track also!

I'm sure there is a knack to it in the game, just like there is in real life.

It looks easy when you see people do it, but it isn't by any means easy.

I just remember watching Tokyo Drift, seeing the first epic fail race in the car park...

Wait till you drive it in GT5, given NFS Shift is not really a sim. Spa is an awesome and very fast track with difficult corners given the speed. Spa and Monza are a lot harder then they seem, you must carry a lot of speed through most of their corners.

yes, but look at the speed he is turning the wheel, the amount and how he pulls it off. You don't need super fast reflexes that is evident, and the wheel turn speed like you have with a control pad

I haven't been able to pull off a single proper drift with the normal Z in the Time Trial with a DFGT Wheel in many tries. There is massive snap back if you manage to catch it, not fast enough and you spin out or fishtail until you spin out, or just take the foot off the gas completely, but then that isn't drifting right? :)

Drifting isn't rocket science, I've done it numerous times in my humble non power steering rear wheel drive work van. Skinny tyres and no weight out the back helps, especially in the wet :dopey:

Even in the easiest, realistic games to drift - Enthusia and LFS, it's still a fair bit harder. Fish tailing is a common trait

...More like it's the best track in the world to world class drivers like Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, and Kimi Raikkonen just to name a few. It's a very popular driver's track.

Yeah, to them but not to me. I'm sure that would change if I had a chance to take some laps around it, but I never will get that chance.
