^^^ it makes sense...so they probably wont do it! The sixthaxis website has a story about PS3 3D firmware update, I'd link it but I'm on my phone because sky are t***s and broke my broadband on monday which means I haven't been able to check out the latest videos (unhappy face)
^^ any scans or decent photos of the mag?

sorry I have no way of scanning but im sure there will be something up soon, it only became available this morning. Im using my phone to access this site so if anyone knows how to upload photos from a mobile I will gladly take some pics

Kaz already say that GT5 is started from scratch, they trow all code from GT4... So they can put ring from GT4 in GT5 just HD and all other track to be in GT5 quality!!!!

It wouldn't have much sense. Ring is their pride and huge selling point. BS about throwing the code out is ridiculous if we can meet GT4 technologies in many places of GT5.

There is a distinction being missed here between models (generally referred to in game dev as "assets") and code which is a bunch of adjective-based decisions that affect the movement or look of those assets onscreen.

So an asset might be a car or a track or one of the little spectators at the side of the road and code would be how fast the car is going along the track and how this might change if you press the brake button.

The reason I'm pointing this out is because some people seem to be under the impression that because PD said "we threw out the code and started from scratch" that means the assets went too.

I say not necessarily and, in the case of something as large and complex as the Nurb track, it would be hard to believe.

+1 The ammount of time and money PD must have spent to collect those 'assets' particularly something as complex as the The Ring would have been fairly big. It would be throwing money down the drain to go and do it all over again.

has anybody seen the new psm3 mag in the uk? It says 3D is definate, which is the cause of the delay also headtracking is in. Regarding damage they say you can roll some cars. Custom playlist is in. And it will be on 3 discs , there is more info but think its either old news or they are just guessing

Looks to me like they have been following GTPlanet and publishing it, nothing there that we the fanbase hasn't dug up.

He said GT5 doesn't carry any previous legacy code, that doesn't include textures, modelling, track data etc.

WTF????????
Only few cars can rollover? :ouch:

hmmm, so your in a race with your friends, your in a car that can roll and they aren't, you all go over exactly the same bit of track which causes you to roll but they don't, they continue on their merry way and you limp home in last place with a totally screwed car, yeah I can see that being popular.

Previous speculation being the cars with full damage (including rolling (according to the article)) are race cars, not production cars. Hence a few, not all.

Well that goes with racing, doesn't it?
As far as different damage for different (race/stock) cars, you/we should use the same kind of car then.
I don't see a reason to race a race car against a stock car, but of course if you want to, it will most likely be available too.

I would like to see no damage at all, but that's me.

Or exact quotes.

Who mentioned different damage? Not me. I'm talking about the fact that only certain cars will be capable of rolling in the game. So you are at a distinct disadvantage if your in a car capable of rolling compared to someone in a car that can't roll.

That would just add fire to the "real driving" thing, heh.

I can't see them doing this, also we haven't seen any pics or evidence of damage and rollovers to be in online mode... I seriously doubt damage will make it in for online racing, or rollovers or night / day / weather.
Will be the same like always, Special Stage Tokio will count as "nightracing" and a view wet tracks as "weather".
Just my opinion, but everything else would really surprise me (positively).

Does anyone have the new OPM UK. It has Gran Turismo 5 written on the front cover. Does any one know if there is any new info in the magazine. Its also the first magazine to review GOW3 and have the first new pics of Crysis 2, so hopefully they have new info on GT5.

I'd be really disappointed if damage didn't make it in for online racing. Or at least the choice to set different levels of damage off/cosmetic/sim a la FM3. With no damage that gives the bashers and crashers free licence to use you as a brake with no consequences for them, at least with damage if someone crashes into you they suffer the consequences also. They have to get online right IMO, we all know the game is going to be great but if they can nail the online the game could be the greatest ever made. But having had so much frustration with GT5P's online mode this is the most worrying thing about GT5 for me.

Look at the Trees same trees in same location
Oh my God. You are right. How dare PD not recognize the fact that the trees around Nurburgring are actually Ents and move around all the time. Those trees are magical and would never be so lame as to put roots in the ground and stick to one place for years on end.

i bought 2 ps3s for GT
In light of this:
i am not interested in other games,,,FPS games are everywhere, i have not ever played too much till nextgen
I have to ask why? Why did you buy, not one, but two PS3s just for GT before GT5 was available when you aren't interested in other games? I keep hearing people say this and no one can explain to me how it is Sony or PD's fault that they bought a PS3 before the only thing they intended to use it for was available. That's like buying sunglasses and getting angry at the shop when you remember it is night.

How come your PS3 broke if it's just been sat waiting for GT5 to come out? :odd:

I believe the PS3 was marketed and sold as an ENTERTAINMENT device. Not a "GT5 Player". Watch a movie and grap a tissue, for your tears.

That's a good question. And I don't think we ever got an explanation as to why 2 PS3's were necessary. Did one break, forcing him to buy another? I really hope he didn't get 2 PS3's so he'd have twice the storage space or something.

Not to get anyones hopes up, but looking here:

http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/10/ps3-getting-3d-firmware-update-this-summer/

Sony have announced the new 3D firmware will definately be available this summer alongside the new 3D TV's. What game could possibly be released to help Sony get the 3D TV's out the door.
This is the problem. Sony is this stupid. Delaying a $60 game to sell $2000 TVs. Idiots!

It says 3D is definate, which is the cause of the delay also headtracking is in.

3d was completed months ago. It's not reason for delay.
