If you left a race circuit untended for that long, it's not surprising that it looks a bit scruffy...

By the time GT5 comes out, Deep Forest will probably be soy fields, and Ice Arena will have melted.

Is it ok to start a 2D dandilion thread guys.

Edit. With the spee of the cars going past how are they there?

Probably not crappy when in motion. Shame the guy doesn't drive in cockpit

I've only been round Aintree, Oulton Park and Donington and they all looked quite tatty even when you're really going for it. I'm sure the new F1 tracks are pretty tidy but Fuji is quite old.

Hopefully we'll get better videos from the remaining finals

Not that i know any better than anyone else here, but since you do, how exactly do you know that 3D was completed months ago?
Because an interview or something was posted before and because we've seen demos of GT5 3D running on 3d tvs.

of course its better than prologue prlogue is 2.5 years old demo

let's get serious for a second. GT5P is not a demo.

I think the "Fuji Discovery" should be in the news... It shows that PD isn't just cobbing the tracks over to GT5! And I was like "AWW CRAP!" when I saw it in GT5P! Imagine how I feel now...

Ok, from the Fuji Video, here's what i've noticed:

Grass is completely different. retextured with hell a load of dandelions - off track grass looks more detailed also, see behind barriers at the first corner
Track texture is completely different with skidmarks that catch the sunlight in a realistic way.
Some of the brand banners are different
lighting model appears to be better - check the shading under the stadium compared to GT5 prologue

Also, while i was comparing this video with the mitsubishi lancer in GT5P, I was driving around the track slowly and checking out the replay. when holding down triagle to zoom in, I couldn't help but notice the detail in the reflections. Not onlt are their reflections on the front light casing, there are also inverted reflections of the track in the headlamps in real time. There are even proper reflections on the Mitsubishi badge. This is a detail I'd never noticed before in prologue, so any improvements on the cars for GT5 is going to outstanding. There are probably subtleties that we won't notice for a long time.

All track/grass textures are different than before:tup: Look's more "real life" to me.

I am extremely pleased by the new look at Fuji. It tells me that in a few months I won't be the only person buying this:

Imagine 2D trees on 3D TV...
I think KAZ watching it someday and delayed the game...Trees in INDY makes him cry...

I personally notice "hell a load of dandelions" in CES 2010 demo. It's easy to see)))

link to fuji vid pls? I seem to have missed that one

ETA: oops - pics hadn't streamed in by the time I posted. Damn this pesky internets. Nothing to see here people ... move along

What is very ridiculous is that only race cars will rollover (not confirmed).
If GT5 wanna be a driving simulator, PD can`t make a game with different physics. Rollover for every car or no rollovers. If production cars cant rollover, they are limiting the physics, and i think that a car can rollover and not have damage at the same time.

Another thing i dont understand it`s why PD allow that the makes put the damage limits. KY said many times, that some makes offered money to appear in the game, but PD never accepted the money, and i say, if they didnt accept the money, why they accept the makes rules?
If the makes wanna be in GT5 without paying, let PD make full damage and rollover on every car, no? I cant understand that,

Street cars will rollover too, but they will upright themselves

Can you confirm that? Please link the information.

I read it in an article somewhere a while back, maybe it was even posted here in a news article. It was a preview type article where a person played a preview copy of GT5 and talked with a Sony rep etc

see if I can find it again

The flowers are already in Prologue, maybe its just me, but i dont see the "dirt" parts in the videos you posted.

EDIT: Just for comparison:

Of course the Academy video is off-screen, which fakes the lighting a bit, but the textures are definitely better.
