I don't know - everytime I see some obvious sarcasm there's always some moron who completely misses it, and he's usually from the USA. I don't have an explanation for why this happens.

I'm American and speak fluent sarcasm, so this stereotype is fail!

Agreed.

Besides, I don't see the sarcasm he was referring to. If he's referring to H20Hybrid_GT's post, thats more pedantic than sarcastic. Although i am from England/UK, a nation of people who've had to develop creative ways of expressing themselves over the years, and we have it down to a fine art. If that was an attempt at sarcasm, it was a poor attempt.

Maybe American's are the majority on this forum? 💡 Hence you see more moronic responses?

Not to mention, most of the idiots seem to populate/hover around the GT5 section of this forum to begin with (kind of like flies on shiet).

In other sub-forums of the the GTplanet forum, I've seen plenty of other members of non-American nationality miss sarcasm quite often to.

Agreed.

I agree.

Point taken.

On another note, way, way off topic, when you wrote "miss sarcasm" I got a mental image of Sarah Silverman... *drools*

Anyway - enough from me.

So you are saying that the physic from the Time Trial is know different than Prologue. Did you even try the Time Trial? The other thing is were you one of the top twenty, to get to race in on of the semi finals? I'm kind of guessing not, so you don't know if they have changed or not!!

No, I'm saying they can't just keep changing "physics" every few months and sell it as the real thing, this is suppose to be a racing game and not Star Trek, wether you have the physics right or you don't, there's no in between, just like there's no standard and no professional physic...

you do know he meant game physics, right?

You do know that you completely missed the point in my post?

Why is it only Americans who don't understand sarcasm?

I don't know. :scared:

agree. My speakers sounded distorted and garbled. However, the game sounds underneath all that sounded much better than what I've heard before.

Pretty much what I meant. I was also wearing some quality headphones, so it may have sounded a tad bit better to me.

Enough of sarcasm talk.
We shall resume the serious discussions about that bunch of information Polyphony Digital has provided us in the last few weeks: ...

Just come across this article stating that Sony think the supply of PS3s will be tight over the next few months. Interestingly, Sony say they realised this in January, so I wonder if it could be anything to do with the sudden delay of GT5, as of course it will be a huge system seller.

Special announcements, big news, exclusive interviews, new screens, 'soon', 'anytime', have all been used and abused by PD/Sony and if any of those words are mentioned about a new event, upcoming event, or article, you can expect nothing.

I really hope so...
Why why why are they so quiet.. they have never been!

And why again a new graph on the japanese website showing the times for the timetrial...
I had a lot fun driving the 2 cars on Indianapolis..
but after all that time, I'm sorry, it does get a little boring.. even with good will.

I won't be bored with 1000 cars and loads of tracks... but, this is the treatment fans get :grumpy: 👎

I don't disagree, but I want to add something I think is important regarding online:
I've played a few games where you could choose to play the "story" mode (aka GT mode in GT's case) completely online or offline... for example I played thru Resident Evil 5 story mode purely online, always with the same person and it was a really cool and new experience for me... The reason I say this, is I think that's the future for ANY games, because it gives you the choice to play how YOU want and not how some programmer thought you should... (You can still do that, if you want, it's called offline :P).
I could totally see this happen with GT, but then I doubt they have the energy and knowledge to pull it off. They would probably need help from Namco or something xD
So, you want a co-op online career mode? Or just to be able to have all career mode races online?

I hope you see the difference in the genres between racing games and something action/adventure oriented and why no racing game, to my knowledge, has attempted that yet.

See, RE5 has you, as a player, working alongside a friendly character which is controlled by AI when in single player. A co-op campaign just gives your friend control of that friendly character. You still fight against AI controlled Non-playable characters (NPC). The experience between co-op and single player is minimal in gameplay, other than your friend is able to respond to what you want/need differently.

A racing game has no friendly character controlled by the AI. In essence an online career would be you vs other people. That means that my experience in career mode would be different from your, as would everyone else's experience. There is no set skill limit that must be overcome to progress.

Now, if they did allow you and a friend to create a team and the two of you raced against the AI (just like the two of you fought AI-controlled NPC zombie/infected in RE5) and as long as one of you came in first it counted as progression for both of you.

The only way they could tie a single player career mode to online without risking an imbalance that prevents certain people from being able to continue would be what has already been in Prologue: Online winnings count toward your career mode winnings. If they removed the limitations of online access from being unlocked in offline (maybe had you level up to certain online events in some way, like based on lap times, rather than wins) it would have made it so that the offline career was pointless, for online loving players, because all it allowed you to do was unlock more offline races and win money for cars.

The question some need to ask in that concept is: Do you race the GT Simulation mode because you like accessing new races, or because you like earning money for cars? If it is just about money and cars then what I suggest above will be all that is necessary.

All that said, an online co-op career where you form a team would be fun. I would love to bump draft to the lead at Daytona, or block a challenger trying to come up on my team mate.
