I would like to see some other track in night(even Tokyo) not SSR5 that track always was in night... and some shots with rain would be good.
Sorry for english

^ Wouldn't we all! ;)

I'm pretty sure PD are intentionally withholding the new stuff for a BIG reveal

^ hahaha...I prefer my version ;)

Alternative is they're keeping their cards close their chest so second rate games don't copy them :sly:

Please tell me your username isn't the year you were born. If so, God help Rome.

it is 20 locations with 70 variations meaning there cud be as much as 80 different tracks

Well, at least we're getting some news, of course we all already know 95% of every GT5 news published worldwide, but with OPM it's a totally different game since they have all sources of info available.

KY said that they took almost an entire year to model each track, and a whole month just to collect data on the Nurburgring, so using the same model from GT4 and updating it with more realistic curbs, improved textures and some other minor changes seems very reasonable and fair to me.

They probably focused on the cars because they wanted to add some new tracks to the game but there's a huge workload to bring real tracks to the game, and besides, PD worked to bring us some new courses like Indy and Daytona, this took a lot more of work and certainly they must have postponed the newer versions of traditional GT tracks to GT6.

It's ok to have just 20 tracks if we get a really good online mode, and I'm expecting to see some official leagues and tournaments by PD, this would attract more interest. Also, time attacking the ring on the improved physics and hearing the improved sounds will be awesome. I'm just wondering when I will finally log in this forum and see a "GT5 - First Impressions Thread"? September is just too far away.

Oh Yeah, 20 tracks are 20 tracks, variations are decent when they use a different layout(like daytona road course), racing a track on reverse doesn't make it a different track you know. :grumpy:

Please, for the love of god, no more debates about the number of tracks! ;)

Also the the Special Stage Route 5 shots were posted in this thread and the "Playstation OM UK GT Review next month" thread yesterday

:)

Hey you guys they have put up some screenshots of special stage route 5. check the news page

They were posted here first, as alot of the content from the news page is :) No-one knows how many tracks there are going to be so we all have our guesses.

Try not to double post and welcome to the forum xD

Edit: or rather welcome to the GT5 forum.

I will add one more option to the debate  but it is probably already mentioned before: what if location equals country and variation equals circuit.
It might be wishful thinking but then a lot of Polyphony's PR is beyond cryptic in the first place.

In the yellow Ford GT photo the car behind it (Red SLS)has some words writtem on it's side if my eyes don;t fool me but the words "Livery "and "Editor" come to mind?

This would be the only way to read it. Location does not equate to a track or circuit. Calling a track or a circuit a location would be misleading ... ( sudden realization ) :ouch:

I must've gone blind,Oh well thanks for the help anyway

No prizes for guessing what you've been up to :sly:

If that gets lost in translation it may be slightly embarrassing to explain!

In fairness it's not easy examining scans ;)

You do not need to have the DFGT wheel to access that menu, all you have to do is set up the buttons for the wheel you have. i use it on my g25 all the time

Well holy cow, I never knew that. There's one strike against the G27 I can take back. $300 and potential weak gears are the only strikes left.

Not being too pedantic here, but yes it does. Just like your "different layouts" are different tracks too.

It does, but I really hate it. I've never heard of an actual road course that is ever run backwards and I've always loathed the reverse versions of the GT original courses.. for various reasons.

Fire up the TT Demo and try Indy GP backwards. Just do it.

I would love to do it, but I can't, my PC network card is apparently damaged, so I can't share my connection with the PS3. I've got my wheel last saturday and it just feels ****ing awesome, even Prologue it's funny to me now. :D Besides, I can agree with you and TokyoDrift only partially, changing the direction does change the braking spots, the view of scenery and many other things that affect the overall experience, so the feel of the track it's completely different, but it still will be the same track used in another way, just that.

What I can really call variations it's a short section, or a modified section of track, like I mentioned before Daytona Road Course, Indy GP, Suzuka East and West, Grand Valley East, Motegi Road Course, Seattle Short and I would love to see the Bugatti Circuit too.

EDIT: Wasn't it you R1600, the fastest guy using a DS3 in the GT Academy Trial? After seeing your 1:36 and comparing it to my hardly achieved 1:39 on a DS3 too, I just gave up on playing with a controller and decided to buy a wheel. Wise decision I can say, thanks for that.
