I can't find that in google. Try clicking the google chache link though.

EDIT: FOUnd it and no chache.

For those unable to find it:

Something odd going on if that error message was correct. Why would PD or Sony asked for something to be removed from a forum unless it was revealing something important. Like a May release date.

OR

They could have similar rules as GTplanet regarding the release date and rather than locking the thread, they delete it instead. Just using Sony/PD name as an excuse.

Why on Earth would they want to keep the release date a secret?

Why on Earth would they want to keep the release date a secret?

Sooo many reasons. The first three that come to mind:

1. The date isn't set in stone, and to make it public then miss it would look bad.
2. The date is to be officially announced at a date in the near future as part of a bigger announcement. The more the announcement contains, the more impact it will have, the more media attention it will recieve.
3. The date is also linked to the release date of the NEW PS3 3-D Firmware, which will be of interest to many of Sony's competitors.

1. Yeah we've seen that already.
2. What bigger impact could there be for all of us gt fans than to actually "finally" know when this game is going to be released.
3. Speculation. You don't know that.

I think that even the fact that someone got to information that PD didn't want released is yet another proof of their sloppiness. If indeed this is the case here.

And it wouldn't be the first time they release information prematurely and then remove it.

Yeah but Sony did not do their homework, so they "lost" to many (GT) fans... I will buy GT5 too but maybe then I´m to old for playing games when it´s out?

Let´s see how FM3 is... If it´s not my thing I will sell the hole bundle in ebay...

you, are not "many fans"

I'd like some more, credible ones hopefully.
1. Sony didn't say May release so if the date comes and goes with no GT5, why would anyone with a brain blame them for anything?
2. That has no relevance. Sony deleting the thread would be a much bigger attention getter than some random person posting an imaginary date. Think about it.
3. Wasn't the 3d firmware date announced already? Aren't 3d TV release dates known already? Aren't many pretty sure the TV's are the reason for the delay? Your number 3 is irrelevant.

1. You obviously didn't take the sentence into the context of the discussion. Let's just say a May date is currently on the cards, BUT PD are only 90% sure they can make that date, the date is best kept secret until Sony / PD are ready to release such information, ie they are 100% sure. Have a look on the news page to see what happened when a christmas release date was leaked. If Jordan had posted the factual CONFIDENTIAL documents he was privey too, Sony Lawyers would have done anything and everything to get them removed.

2. Sony didn't delete the thread, GAMESPOT did. Gamespot could either be using the name of Sony/PD as an excuse as part of a bigger NDA. Or the information could have been that specific and backed up with evidence that it was revealing some secret.
Think about it, it's one hell of a good coverup, no mention of that thread exists anywere else, only one of our members stumbled upon it via Google, we may have never known.
Apple have been known to get photos of upcoming ipods removed, even fake ones, Sony isn't any different. Think about that.

3.
No the 3D firmware date has not been announced.
No the 3D TV availablilty date has not been announced.
Sony have recently said that the PS3 firmware will be available alongside the new 3D tv's and with at least one major 3D game.
IF GT5 is announced for MAY, a game which is going to be in 3D, then the PS3 firmware would also have to be available in MAY.

If you we're to read the question carefully, the question is not why would PD/Sony they want to keep the release date secret.
The three reasons i have given are perfectly acceptable reasons why a big company could wish to keep tight lipped.

I agree with you, but Sony announced at the CES that the 3DTVs will be available in Sony Stores in summer, which isnt a fixed date, but at least a time window which is realistic.

I definately agree, but by keeping the window open very very wide it is still leaving competition guessing. The competition will want to have thier TV's on the shelves the PS3 gets 3D. At the same time, they don't want to release too early for risk of providing an incomplete or inferior product to Sony.

This is just nuts, too much speculation going on. You guys are making sense of this though, no doubt about that, but I don't want to play GT5 in 3-D (if that is what may be going on), I want to play it NOW :grumpy:

I understand that Sony is going to provide 3D coverage of the World Cup, and that's in June, so it would make sense to get the TVs out by May?

Nothing wrong! you gona have a lot of fun!!:)

I´m sure :)

Sorry but this fanboyism is bullcrap... (I don´t mean you pay2021) So I will enjoy both games and don´t get dissapointed everyday after looking in this Forum and see nothing new from PD/SONY...

MS made it right, even if FM3 is not the best racing game... that doesn´t matter... they brang out the game and made their fans happy and gave them a big present... not like PD to delay every GT for a year or more... And also MS made a lot of extra money with bringing FM3 out early... Bugs can fixed online with patches, we are not still in the 90´s where patches were in game magazines on an 3,5" Disks...

As an company first you got to satisfy your fans... Like Mr. Kojima already sayed, delaying games is a big crime to the fans...

I don´t know what Kazunori means with "GT5 will shortly released after the March Japan release"... then after the march delay we get the info "the EU/US release date did not changed" And now we are expecting GT5 in Septemper 2010 (and we know its getting delayed again 👍) September (6 months later) is not "shortly after Japan relaese" in my oppinion...

Yeah for sure GT5 will be the best racing game in the universe and so on... but don´t f... up your fans like this...

If Sony continue like this, they might even delay New Years Eve to make sure the TVs and GT will release in 2010...

Breaking news:

Sony sets release date for revolutionary time machine, February 2011.

A Sony representative at a Press conference stated: The machine will be ready by the end of 2010. We will be able to stretch the time-space continuem to travel 10 years in either direction in time. This will enable us to bring technologies back to the past with us, including the time machine itself, so we can use it repeatedly. However, we cannot confirm the release date for GT5 at this time.

Meanwhile, 1 year later and 10 years earlier, Sony announced revolutionary time machine to be released February 2001... But GT5 release delayed further still.

Does May make sense from a game release schedule? Any other big games out at that time?

BTW, i'm not speculating it will be May, in fact its got to be remembered, it wasn't Gamespot who announced anything, it was some random member in the forum, and to be even more specific, we don't even know what he said.

Have fun paying 5 bucks for a track or cars that couldve been in the game since release. Theyre really treating their fans nicely youre right. 👍

Thats no reason :)

There are enough cars and tracks on the 2 DVD´s...

I wish PD would do that for their fans and bring GT5 out and bring some DLC´s later if the game release get faster that way...

And you get me wrong, I´m no FM fanboy because it´s my first xbox ever... maybe even I don´t like it and will sell it... But anyway, MS did a lot of things better then Sony and that´s a fact... Even if MS want´s only money...

EDIT: But never fight with fanboys, so you are right man relaxxx :)

EDIT2: By the way, the bundle includes all FM3 DLC´s so far :)
