Personally, I'd be willing to pay more than $60 for GT6 in order to get more content. It's basically the only game I play, and it lasts for years, so I could certainly pay more like $100, just for the game.

That would allow them to hire more staff to do more modeling. I'd love more tracks. Don't care as much about cars, since there's just a ridiculous amount already. If they just add another 300 or so late model premium cars, plus maybe 50 iconic old cars in premium version, I'd be happy with that for cars.

If they added maybe 10 more tracks from what we currently have, that would be perfect for me. Sebring, Road America, Spa, Monaco, Mosport, Isle of Man, Brands Hatch, Pike's Peak, Mid Ohio, and Sears Point. Those plus the current track list and I'd want for nothing.

We in Australia pay atleast $100 per new game and our dollar is just as strong as yours now too. We have the most expensive games anywhere in the world. Despite paying over $100 for the original game, I would be willing to spend more than that again for good DLC.

Maybe Kaz will become the new NFS
Coming March 2011 GT6 with 10 extra tracks/ 100+Premium cars
Coming November 2011 GT7 10 Premium Tracks/ 100+ more Premium cars
Selling two game a year is better than selling DLC.

No its not and its a stupid business plan. The amount of money required to advertise and produce every year, let alone the harm to the game name itself. Why do you think Sega died? Released a new console nearly every year and their gamers said go and get :censored:ed. You wait until the COD bubble bursts for example.

Thinking back to GT4 it's hard to believe we're looking at Lambo, Ferrari, SLS, McLaren (among others) in that detail as day turns to night on Le Sarthe. Just beautiful.

The darkness in 9 minutes is just accelerated time change, I think it's being found in the arcade mode. There's probably an arcade option to transition to darkness over whatever length of race you're doing?

Yes, I think all the habitual haters recognize this kind of greatness and even though they might get the same combo in 4za or something, it can't hold a candle to the quality of GT.

Also, I believe that in Arcade mode you have to choose the Sarthe weather/time course and then it transitions based on how many laps you want to do, so you will experience the full transition. Like GRID. A good idea.

Me. For the last 2 weeks.

Same here. I started with the idea of "saying goodbye" to Midfield, Paris, NYC, the Motorland, etc.
But then I started to race the tracks that are gonna be in GT5 to make sure I remember the best driving lines and small tricks for them, and I ended up not even turning my PS3 on for weeks now...

I wonder if the addition of karting was a step towards a more in depth career path since most racing careers these days start out in karts.

I would love an in depth career mode in GT. Start out at 8 years old racing slow karts. Move your way up to faster karts. After the karts go to Formula Ford, then Formula 3, then 2, then 1. That's if you're good and you've chosen an open wheel track.

Or maybe you go into touring cars after karts if that's your thing, and end up in Le Mans P1 cars after working your way up the sports car ranks. SuperGT perhaps.

Or there could be a rally path, or a NASCAR path. I'd love that. Something totally realistic, no do overs. You screw up the race you don't get another chance. Crash your F1 car too many times and you get bumped down to F2, or test driver, or dropped from the team completely. Not getting results in P1, you get moved down to P2.

Obviously wouldn't be for everyone, so they'd need some other options to make it less realistic.

Where did you get the info on the transition? :)

There ought to be a "ninja difficulty" unlock at 100% like some games.

I would prefer being able to start my GT Life mode with the hardest damage mode possible, being able to progress through the game having to be more careful during races that you would normally care a bit less. Make it a hardcore mode, from level 0.

I believe that based on many objective factors :)

I think if you are good enough to plow through the game to 100%, then you deserve a greater challenge. It gives the game much better replay value.

Agreed. I'm pretty disappointed to hear that the difficulty early in the game just isn't there. Seems like the physics are dumbed down and the damage is non existent in the beginning. This doesn't make much sense to me.

In the real world the physics of driving don't change as you move along in your career, the cars just get faster and the drivers get better. Physics, damage, realism, these things are all constant.

I'd rather start my career with everything as realistic as possible and play the whole way like that.

Same here man! while on the DLC & australia topics how good would it be for new model standard commodore & falcon models to get in. While PD are over here testing them, they can go to Bathurst, see the awesomeness of V8 supercars and chuck em in... i would pay $40 for 4 factory cars, a track, and 2 cars with 8 liveries each... if only plane tickets were cheaper and Kaz cared a bit more for one of their smallest markets :(:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Well, I just don't think there is a replay value at all. Once you get to 100%, you don't just decide to start from scratch, you usually toy around with the stuff you got, buy cars you wouldn't if you were thinking strategically in terms of progress, etc.
And I'm not sure you can restart the GT Life mode after started without erasing achievements, and that would mean you would also erase the advanced physics, damage...

Here's an odd bit of info:

For the past few weeks, I saw ads for GT5 in many different circulars/fliers, ranging from Sears to Target to Toys R Us. This weekend, I checked, and you know how many circulars were advertising GT5? .... ZERO. Talk about a marketing/advertising breakdown. It seems Sony's really banking on Black Friday to sell their game in the US market. I hope it works for their sake (actually more for the sake of the progression of the series). But, it's almost like they shot themselves in the foot, and all with no effort at all.

Harvey Norman will be selling GT5 for $77 AUD and Dick Smith Electronics for $78 AUD.

As for F1 2010, it's $79 AUD at JB-HIFI.

There are bargains out there, you just have to look around ;)

Can't say i tried to hard looking for the best price. Only went into 1 Ebgames store and had a look around.

Yeah true... EB always are 100+ with their prices on new games.

I was mainly responding to the guy who says that we pay "at least $100 for a new game".

In GT4 the inclination to restart GT mode may make sense due to the missing online component. But I don't think that holds true in GT5. And it also boils down to how you'd approach a racing/driving games. For someone like me who even disregard multiplayer races, it's the cars, tracks and stopwatch that make GT tres enjoyable. The tire options in GT5P's TT mode kept me busy (almost daily) for over two years. Although I admit, this is an exception to the norm.
