Hi guys.

Ive been looking for a thread I stumbled on a little while ago. Cant seem to find it again through the search function but it was about tyres in GT. Some guy had made a spreadsheet based on skid pan numbers of cars in real life. He used the numbers to choose the appropriate tyres for cars in GT.

Anyway I hope you can help. Thanks in advance gents 👍

edit: FOUND IT!!! :D

What do you mean by leaderboards? And how will they make the game last 2-3 more years?

Is it just an online leaderboard, similar to the drift and time trial boards of the seasonal events? Where we can see who got the best time or most points?

I don't understand how that will make the game last longer. Most everyone is going to be using the X2010 or whatever. I couldn't care less. I have no desire to use that...thing...whatsoever.

Unless my understanding of leaderboards is wrong? I don't know...

Well, with prologue i believe, you had car time trial leaderboards.. so if you would take a F50, it would only show the best F50 times.. and no other cars.

This would greatly increase the length of the game for many gamers who love to do time trials.. offcourse, the question is.. can PD pull it off and when would we see such a feature with so many cars?

hopefully soon.

To tell you the truth after reaching lvl 24 I stopped playing GT5 and haven't played it for the past 2 months. My bro and I were just constantly pointing out faults and the game just became really boring for us (I would literally fall asleep playing the game).

I don't know what they did but I've lost my interest in the franchise thanks to GT5. After all those years of waiting it turned out to be my biggest disappointment this gen.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I'm Still playing and will continue to play if they correct their mistakes and actually finish the game with updates.

But yes this is by far the WORST GT game i have ever played, in terms of it being an actual game and not the genre it is.

I find myself more interested in trying to make my own fun, but with the course editor being so limited, it is difficult to stick around.

Same prologue ranking system is impossible, maybe they'll make different system, I can't imagine a sim game without ranking, it's unacceptable

Same for me. I lost interest at level 27....

I played it again (after 8 weeks now) and did not find anything new.

Online are just kids which do not understand racing at all. (Only crashing around and drive opposite direction and so)

I cannot set the time of day nor the weather for the tracks offline.

I cannot drive the endurance races 24 hours (or 4hrs/8hrs) all day long.

The seasonal events require cars I do not own. (Or take hours to find, buy and set up properly to the requirements)

The museum is useless.

The cars I'd like to have are too expensive (20 million)

There are no online rankings.

I'll come back in 2018 then, see you...

I would have to agree. I still am in utter shock that a game of this magnitude still doesn't offer options like tire width, sidewall height, wheel diameter, or wheel offset for that matter. The list goes on of course. At least the graphics are phenomenal....on certain cars only...aaand only when no harsh shadows are present.....

Honestly now that I have gotten so far in GT5 I'm seriously looking forward to the next Shift installment. It should be on par with GT5 on both graphics and physics just none of the BS (let's hope).

Bingo !
You nailed it. :) The more I played, the more I was left wanting.....got to Lv28 and baled.
Been enjoying MGS4 for the passed 6 weeks. 👍

I'll wait for GT6 (whenever that might be ) but will definitely PLAY it (rental) before I outlay cash next time. ;)

Quite the opposite, finished B-spec, and completed most of my car set collections (Rally, JGTC, DTM, LM etc.). I have been enjoying photomode, joining a few competitions. Recently joined a racing league, and have been practicing/tuning my Lexus ISF RM with my friend to be competitive. I plan to start my own racing league with cup cars. So many things to do.

If you have lost interest, i do not see it as the game's fault. (level A35, B40)

But I think it is the game because I'm not the only who's lost interest in playing GT5. Me, my bro and most of my closest friends don't play the game any more, and the funny thing is we all stopped playing after reaching lvl 23+ lol.

I just really hope that GT6 is a better game.

I do feel the same way. I just don't know why I lost interest in GT5. TBH, they wasted some time on other casual features .. I call them .. like the museum and the limited course editor. I could have been better if they didn't include it. Other features are like night racing and weather.. I don't understand why people were sooooo concerned about them. I mean most racing are done in day time am I right? And racing in rain? I don't enjoy it .. really.

Before GT5 came out I heard you'll be able to fit straight pipe/titanium exhausts .. and I thought yeah that'd be cool to make any car sounds extremely loud and expected to tune my car as deep as possible but .. no

Right now I'm playing TDU2 and honestly .. it's just fine and I feel that I may lose interest on it later.

Oh and we've got NFS Shift2 coming out in a month .. hopefully it will be interesting.

I really do not understand why people think they have to play GT all of the time? If it gets boring Go play a different game, i do it all the time, Yet always come back to GT and my DFGT and find my self on lap 6 of the nurburgring..Best thing i can say to kill the boredom is invest in a wheel, Killed the Boredom of GT5P for me. Level 26 so far...and still cant bored driving all the different types of cars. so many different physics.

I love GT but I'am a kind of bored, because even if the physics are great, I have the feeling to play a half finished game and this is disapointed after 5 years of wait !

I really hope that kaz will fix the games issues with updates because if it's fix, the game will be a real Gt, otherwise it will be just a average racing game.

this game have so mutch potential, but it seems like unexploited

Sometimes GT5 feels like a car collection game with added racing, a sort of pokemon with wheels. You do a race to get a car to do a race to get a car etc. Only when you play online does this feeling ebb away, that is until you see someone driving a car you have to win offline, so you head back and you do a race to get a car to do a race to get a car etc.

I just completed the Laguna Seca 200 (posted some notes up elsewhere on this forum) and it only served to highlight some of the flaws in the game.

So, in no particuar order, and by no means exhaustive:

:grumpy:Why only display the time to one car, either fist place, or second, if it's you in first? Say I'm in 7th and I need to know if 6th is pulling away or if 8th is gaining. Who cares about 1st, since he's on a different pit strategy?
:grumpy:Why is it so hard to find a car to run a race with? How about some suggestions and I mean more than just bhp and weight, which rarely tell the full story.
:grumpy:Why can't it be possible to upgrade or change your car without quitting out and subsequently reloading the track you're already at?
:grumpy:Why no rewind/fast forward on the replay? I did a great lap 80 but do I want to sit thru 79 others to watch it again?
:grumpy:How come racing tyres for a Nissan Micra cost the same as for a Bugatti Veyron?
:grumpy:Nascar? Drafting is not racing.
:grumpy:Crappy 'resale' values that don't take all the mods into account (mind you, this can happen in real life too)
:grumpy:Way too much of it plays and feels like GT4, despite the protracted gestation
:grumpy:Damage? Dunno why they bothered. I play Dirt 2 on the pc. Now Codemasters know how to do damage.
:grumpy:If PD are going to recycle old cars/tracks, where's Complex String?

I'm sure there's more but perhaps the main one is that despite all this, I still can't stop playing. A bad GT5 is somehow better than no GT5.

I don't know what to tell you other than that's not PD's fault. That's just how the real NASCRAP is buddy. one direction of turning, drafting. Ho-hum racing.

But 20 cars on the track all doing essentially time trial laps because there may be 1 legitimate place to pass on the whole track is "racing". 5 lead changes in ONE lap where 12 cars are clustered within 1/2 second of each other isn't exciting? Most F1 races don't even see 5 lead changes throughout an entire race.

two things.

1. drafting is a massive part of racing. have you ever seen cars heading down the mulsanne at Le Mans?

you notice how they become a train of sorts, taking advantage of the bubble of air created by the car in front of them?

yep, drafting.

it isn't crucial like it is in NASCAR, but drafting is a part of all sorts of racing.

2. drafting in GT is massively exaggerated. it's not quite that bad in real stock car racing.
