Except for the fact that everyone gets the same X1 for reaching level 35 in B-spec that you get for getting all bronze in the Vettel challenge, which doesn't take much effort at all... and besides, I think some people worry too much about what other people have and how they got it.

Regardless. The curious thing I noticed with the gifted X1 is that, like the recent 0 mile cars in the OCD, it comes with the 3% boost in power which normally requires the car to be driven over 300km.

The real curious thing is that the PP goes down with the gifted X1 if you change the oil, even though the power goes up. Not only that, but the gifted X1 without an oil change has 6 more PP than the prize car Vettel X1 with an oil change - even though it has 17 less hp?!?!?! Very odd...

  • 1482hp 974pp Gifted Vettel X1 (no oil change)
  • 1556hp 971pp Gifted Vettel X1 (oil change)
  • 1509hp 968pp Prize Vettel X1 (oil change)

You better check the aero settings..

Maybe because the more power slightly reduces handling...

Two problems with that explanation. One is that the gifted X1 with oil change has more HP and more PP than the prize X1 with oil change. Not only that, but with every other car I have increased the power, the PP went up, never down.

You better check the aero settings..

I did, and for all three cars the settings were all identical, and all default.

This is more insulting than rewarding. I just cant belive.
I just can say too lame and too expensive. No new cars (just RM versions of existing cars) and just one (and great) new track is all what PD can offer to us and all that for really decent amount of money (...money for nothing). Thanx PD, but no thanx.
So definitely one more reason to save my money and get X360 and FM4.
P.S. I expected PD will make my desidion to get X360 more harder but it seems that they just easen it massively.

^ One thing to consider was that Forza Motorsport 3 only released ONE new track, and that was for $15! We're being quite fortunate

Really, 400MS is $15? Wow you get ripped off in the states. I can pick up 500MS for £4.25 which is $6.63.

annoyingly the camera angles from top gear test track are in new trailer. not in actual replay however. spa is good id imagine weekly track dlc to counter any forza dlc news... track a week with however many cars... feels far better now...feels smoother.

a few things would be great to see. weather for all tracks.
course builder a few more options. loop/ not loop.
weather for all course builder content.
more course builder themes.

but generally feels far far better :)

The first part is factory thingy, I think the video is better without it... ^^

But you can find it in the news on gtplanet...

Thanks again.Bit dissapointed they Didn't use Moon over the castle but Daiki kasho >MCR

Regarding the new DLC....

1. The new go kart track reminds me of what early rumors described as "Stunt arenas".
2. The new X2010 has Pirelli tires, not Bridgestones. (Which makes sense)
3. That's to many RM Nissans.

Other than that last one, pretty awesome.

Think the Kart track will allow cars to use it as well?

Hmmmm if so....that could be fun :dopey:

Really hoping for a classic car track down the road. The DLC this time around seems skimpy for the most part

Kaz just tweeted (english):

[Please make an effort to download everyone!]

his previous tweet:

[I think the PSN servers are really congested now because of the GT5 Update. I'm sorry for the seriously long download times...]

He seems annoyed..

Is anyone else having a really long wait after they hit the green race button when you first fire up a race? I have to say the loading times are really much faster over all, but have PD just shuffled some things around so instead of waiting for a long load, it loads quickly then you have to wait longer for the actual race to start?

PD makes great videos. New changes are very welcomed, Spa will be awesome.

It is an insult however how they doctor the engine sounds in the videos, if only they sounded as good in game.

Except they do sound the same in the game. I suggest you replicate it with a saved replay. Then change the camera view. Like in real life, a car's "engine sound" (really it is the exhaust) will sound remarkably different depending on the listener's location (camera). So comparing how a car "sounds" while racing to how it sounds from another camera view, it will always sound different - as it should.

Without getting into a back and forth, I am afraid you are wrong on this one. In fact depending on the car I can not stand to watch/listen to a replay, heh, some cars I hate to drive due to the excessively synthetic sounding engines. GT's sounds are probably the worst in any sim, they have hardly evolved through the series.

I wish you were right though, it would take GT5 to another level.

As of this post, I am currently downloading the Spec 2.0 update. I'll need to download this whole deal and play around with it to see what new changes are offered for GT5.

I was as stunned as most of you at the notion of Spa-Francorchamps for GT5. I was like, "hell to the yes!" seeing that in the GTPlanet news section as well as sharing this news on Facebook. I even like the newer cars offered as part of the Downloadable Content package. I am also a bit curious about the other karts as part of the package. What I'd REALLY want to see on the karting front would be superkarts. Imagine racing a super-low racing machine going well over 150 mph with no suspensions!

Anyhow, still downloading. I'll probably let you know my thoughts on the new Spec 2.0 deal either here on GTP or in my GT blog.
