Sound issue:

You guys know its a dynamic range you can change in the option menu? I don't remember what's default, but I know I changed it and the cars sounds great.. I agree that some cars aren't accurate. But with the Dynamic range limited it will not sound as good as with no limit

It's just done so it will sound somewhat realistic on a TV set of speakers, if you do have a big surround setup, you can change to that and you experience something else.

Yeah it's ''Large theater'' or ''small theater'' in sound options menu. I also have it at 7.1 48hz (i think), via HDMI.

rFactor sounds like crap most of the time, I've played it for years. Those distorted, clipped, and digitized old F1 car sounds are what is horrible. I've heard them on my PC and it sounds like turd. They also are in 2.0 stereo only, where GT5 obviously pushes 7.1 with full 3D.. unlike rF.
 
If this is a regional issue then it's not polyphony digital that stopped it from being released.

Same thing with the pricing, although this makes little difference to the idiots that will do their nut.

Btw guys, do we need to be level 40 and have 20million to buy the X2011 (X2011! Not x2010) in the game? I would say its fair if the cars are free but untradeable. Same thing goes for the paints, shouldn't be able to trade them. When you pay money for something like DLC, you expect to be unique, and you expect to be better then those who haven't paid nothing. But in this case, if you can trade some of the stuff, PD would lose cash and i wont be happy that everyone has something that i paid for but they got it for free ...

No, you get it for free when you buy the DLC.
 
Yes. I found that out by now.
it comes in the the Car Delivery thing. everything else goes to place.
And guys, if you buy the DLC and you'd be scared that you can't download it, you dont need to. (i was crying for 30 seconds until i remembered the DLC function in GT5) Just go there and Activate all the packs. :)

When I play CARS or some RFactor mods, It just more and more difficult to come back to GT5... wonderful graphics but served by ****y sounds... Hello, Kaz, it's 21th century, today we can play with these sounds:

With PC, memory limitation is less severe. A good example is SHIFT 1/2. We know that those came from the developer behind CARS but if you go back to SHIFTS especially on the console (although I found the PC version has almost the same sound), the sound while some people still consider it good, it's nowhere near CARS. Issues like distortion, compressed dynamic in SHIFT indicate that the sound reproduction had to be curtail to allow to run on the PS3/360.

Btw, the sound on the last video you posted shows that even good sound can suffer if you don't pay close enough attention to details.
 
When it comes to sound in any game it will come down to what equipment all the way from the source. And the source have to be good as well.. **** in = **** out. But I read so many posts on how the sound in GT5 sucks and are so not life like. Well first of all it will need a good amplifier and a set of very good speakers to even come close to life like. I never heard anything of peoples equipment. Just that the sound suck.

If you have small speakers inside your TV and you expect to have life like sound, go dream, and do not complain about the source. You could try to limit the dynamic range to max (meaning the lowest setting) Since Dynamic in sound is how much different there is in silent parts and loud parts small speakers cant really recreate a high setting here.
Also the reason why most music these days have their dynamic range limited to the max, so it sound loud on small speakers, while people who can afford a better set of stereo suffer from it. Everything sounds the same. A triangle sounds just as powerful as a drum and so on.

I was in the cinema the other day and walked out before it had gone 30minutes, because the sound was so not lifelike so even if you have a decent to a extreme good sound system. It takes some skill to set it up correctly.. Even the THX approved cinema didn't get it right. Known actors sounds nothing like them self, but of course the big bangs sounded spectacular :dunce:

And then there is the people saying that other games sound much better. Well they probably compressed the dynamic to a luck amount compared to your system. So you will have good experience with it. Not much that prove that sound is more lifelike, it just fits your speakers better.

Oh and just to explain why I know things about this. Well head judge in EMMA in 2008-2010 and third place in the Euro finals inside ahoy in Rotterdam proved I know something about sound. If you don't know what it is. google it :)
 
I am so pissed ican buy any dlc except the complete package are you kidding me? when i click on complete package it says not available with your profile i have only one profile for the game so this can't be the problem, is this a marketing trick tha i can't buy altogether so that i have to pay mor money or what i want the dlc now and i don't want to spent more...

I think it wasn't fully uploaded at that point but yeah i thought don't waste your money wait. the dlc is awesome but one thing that bothers me is that some of the ai cars are place to high in contrast to the dlc cars for example with the nissan gt-r you get some serious race cars as oppenents the car can't really keep up.
 
I think you need 256 INDIVIDUAL paint chip colors to get that trophy. If you have more than one of an actual color (like 3 different British Racing Green) paints, that still only counts for one paint chip. I think I have a British Racing Green as well as a British Racing Green Metallic. They account for two different paint chips. So make sure you have 256 INDIVIDUAL paint colors to get that Colorful trophy.
 
I really wish PD would give us leader boards, I would love to try and beat my friends times online.:(

Did you noticed that all the DLC touring cars can be tunded with better engines and turbos? not sure if i will do it because you have the cars only once, and in some cars the steering is already complicated i don't know how they will behave with much more horsepower.

thats what several set up saves are for have one fully tuned and one not tuned. Oh the rx7 is better tuned that car is amazing, one of the few cars in gt5 that howls.

but then if you've done engine tune or added other parts that can't be uninstalled, they'll still be there when you switch to other setups.
 
Power limiter? Find out what the output was before the mods and then go back afterwards and create a stock tune of that amount of BHP. Most BHP ugrades e.g. filters, Chip, exhaust can be reverted to stock.

Regarding the DLC usage for multiple accounts, We’re planning an another update for GT5 in December. In that update users who purchased cars and tracks from the DLC already, -can receive a free “family upgrade” in the PS Store, which will let all users in the same PS console use the DLC. And though we looked into this, unfortunately there’s no solution for crossing multiple regions. I’m sorry, but we have to ask you to match the region of your disc and your PSN account setting. People who bought the DLC cars will have those cars added to the dealers in the December update. After this December update you can purchase a second car and so on from the dealer.

Next, don’t get your hopes up too high, but PDI is also readying a X-mas present for those who’ve already bought multiple DLCs.
