Oh my LORD.It seems Gran Turismo and PlayStation have ended their long standing trackside sponsorship deal at Le Mans, and have been replaced by Forza Motorsport.
It seems odd with their increased influence in the race with GT Academy drivers taking part.

Get a grip people, what do think Sony paid with, buttons?
If Forza are the new sponsors, then with the next GT game will we see forza logos at Le Mans while we are racing via GT, or will PD dedit them out, if not that would be funny if PD were obliged to include the Logos?
A.D.I.O.Ssame irony that the gt logo is on every porsche @the 24h nürburgring
DaveS1138In Turn 10's case they are specifically sponsoring a feature they didn't want in their game.

G.T.Ace At least I can drive an accurate recreation of the track in GT5, with day/night cycle and different weather conditions.
Spagetti69Why are you Trolling?
Grow up.
Why are you Trolling?
If we cut down on the number of cars on track, used original Xbox-generation car models, dropped to 30 FPS, or (and this would be the most effective solution) built specific tracks from the ground-up to have less detail and thus extra performance headroom, then night racing and/or weather conditions may have been possible. .. Others would require time that we used to develop other features in the game - specifically, the new graphical look of the game in general...

I guess there's no reason that they can't continue to use the 2009 track.
Probably funny in the same way how both PlayStation and GT logos exists on the Forza version of the LeMans track in past 2 games.
Is that true? I never saw that, I guess it would be as contractual obligations would mean so.

The business of games has become so serious, the innocent days of PacMan, Treasure Island and Gauntlet are long gone. Money just has a way of corrupting and consuming lol
diegorborgesJust remember how Greenawalt was arrogant enough to say that PD/GT time is over and they must pass the baston. Something like this.
Of course it is not, I was sarcastically using your wording "it would be funny"
There is a good reason why LeMans track is called LaSarthe at GT5, same way as Monaco track is called Cote d'Azure.
Both tracks are public roads so they can probably use the layouts due to non-constrains of public domain property. In the same time can they opt to put any kind of advertisement or visual content/objects on the surrounding without need to oblige some potential "official license".
In the same time, on the licensed Suzuka track PD is displaying logos of SEGA and if I recall one off the tracks also have Konami logo. Also, Panasonic is ver common on licensed Japanese tracks despite being direct competition to Sony. All very probably because of the licensing.
Here's the arrogant Dan bit for those interested.
When asked if he was surprised by Sony’s conference, Greenawalt replied: “Absolutely. Kazunori Yamauchi-san is someone I have tremendous respect for. I have tremendous respect for the work of team, but I am a GT fan. I bought my first car that I stressed out about buying because I played it in Gran Turismo. I’m in this industry because of that game.
“That said, as a fan of the series, he hasn’t done anything for me in years. So in many ways he’s handing the baton to me. He probably doesn’t see it that way, but I do, because I believe that I’m now taking what he ignited in me as a passion, and taking it to a much, much, much broader level. I’m not saying it’s necessarily larger yet, but definitely broader, younger, older, men, women. So I’m really excited.”

Kino321-XI see it as part of GT's slow downfall.
I mean look at the article, it mentions Forza as the "leading brand in videogame racing games". They even re-named a chicane. It just saddens me.
I guess money played a big role in this.
Money played of course a role. The GT or Forza advertisment costs money.
At the moment Forza is "the leading Brand im videogame racing games"
