Yeah why are so many of the GT1/Le Mans type cars over powered? I thought a Toyota GT1 had 600bhp in real life but it has over 800bhp in GT5?

i think its fake..
look at the bad mirroring on the floor..
thats not gt style

edit: aww .. what freeman said..

Picture Was uploaded in the official team signature in twitter And facebook around 2 hours ago, the scenery looks like Gt5, I asked if it is from GT5 on their facebook page but they hasn't answered yet

The one I have (with miles on it from the UCD) is listed at 765 HP.

Yeah. If they want to get actual money for it, it would be really nice if they would do it right. None of this made up crap.

Though since they did the same with the XJR-9, I doubt we should expect anything better regarding accuracy.

It seems to be that PD did it to artificially balance them with each other, since there aren't enough of any one era to make a real grid out of them. It's either that or because GT5's aerodynamic engine is so bleh that they need to massively overpower the LMP-style cars to make it so the GT cars don't go faster than them.

You might be right, though still 165bhp over what the real car made.

I guess they could have left it up to the user to balance them by adding a stage 3 turbo or when racing the AI, the AI cars could have bee brought in line so that they are all competitive but at least when the car is bought the spec should remain true the life.

Strange part though is both the Peugeot and Audi are actually almost exactly accurate to their real life counterparts, in fact the Audi is 1 HP off from the Real life car's 650 (at least going off the specs from Mulsannes Corner). Seems only the Standard Prototypes are very far off.

Looked about for the Hp Specs with the Premium Prototypes and here's what I got:

Audi R10 TDI: 650 HP

Peugeot 908 HDI FAP: 700 HP

Mazda 787B: 900 (Reduced to 700 for reliability)

And the actual Horsepower of the in-game cars ( disregard waht I said before because I went off the dealership numbers and not the actual numbers when owned with 0 miles)

So in actually, The Premium cars are less powerful then their real life counterparts, Although I can't help but ask if the HP power I got from Mulsannes Corner and Wiki for the Mazda were after the cars had miles on them or before. Whenever I can find the Standard Prototypes with 0.0 Miles, I'd like to get those and do the same, though it seems not many sites have any sort of info on the 88C-V or the R92CP.

Didn't really get into all that since those are not as easily memorable for me.

Its bizarre, I know there are some inconsistencies with the normal cars but not to the same degree as some of the LMP1/Le Mans cars

The 88C-V and the R92CP were only run in the Japan Sports Prototype Championship. There doesn't appear to be much info readily available on that series compared to LeMans, WSC or IMSA GTP.

Can we talk about Cape Ring's unrealistic jump?
No, but we can certainly take one of a thousand cars and jump off that thing and the car and ourselves will live to do it again. :sly:

Maybe Kaz should incorporate his desire to explore life and death in a video game into GT and make it so you can kill yourself if you make a ridiculous jump and crash horribly. Then we might slow down a bit for the crest. :D

Nah, that would make 24 hour races too easy.
Kill al the others!

Make something more easy in GT is impossible, because the AI is so weak. Even in arcade mode on the strongest difficulty level.

They need to work on the AI for GT6. They don't drive like race drivers. ASpec and Seasonals events for example are time trail events with traffic,

Not funny. If you know a race driver or normal person who died while sitting in a car on roads or tracks.

No need for that, just make the driver unable to race for the next 5 days, you need to use another driver, so B spec driver can also be used in A spec, that would be more interesting, might also add repair cost for damaged cars, and retire during race due to failure, tire blowout, crashes and terminal damage. These would be assigned for pro difficulty level which can be chosen for any race in GT mode. Lower difficulty would have the usual old GT realism.

My apologies if you were offended by my comment - certainly was not meant in that way. But I conceed that that might be too hard to take, even in a video game, for someone who has lost a loved one to a car accident.
But certainly an option to increase the consquences of reckless driving within the game wouldn't go astray. That and the AI fixed - especially on course generator tracks - Mt Aso races are ridiculous.
Also physics appear inconsistant to me - take the Nordschleife for example - you can jump a road car in a number of places if taken fast enough but in a race car with the extra downforce you can go much faster and not jump. The physics work well there - but at Cape Ring (and others) there appears to be no difference whether in a road car or race car with huge amounts of downforce, the effect is the same - flying cars. Just something I would like to see improved with GT6.
