Sony has a press conference on the 10th at 7pm EST it'll be live on G4TV if you have that channel.

Thanks, don't have the channel tho. Uh.. 2 more days.. not only for GT5, but as well other titles, arc :)

Hang on...people are expecting GT5 news from Sony's conference?

I wouldn't hold out hope for that. I don't see why they'd put a GT5 trailer on the GoWIII only to go and show another one.

Arc will probably be the sole focus of their conference.

The European Version of God of War 3 will not feature a GT5 trailer, so PD is going to release a trailer pretty soon. The best time to do so, would be the press conference at the GDC.
A trailer is about 2-3 minutes long, so it wouldn't consume too much time. Arc will most likely be shown, but the most important event will be the E3, as far as the Arc is conserned.

PD have done exactly this before. They usually give their presentations during time slots allotted to Sony.

Thank you !!!

Also I agree with deep_sky, ARC will be the main priority, GT5 might be mentioned for the 2010 line up in a mix tape of video games.

Well the are some highly likely rumors that Motorstorm 3 and Starhawk will be announced there, so although its main focus will be Arc there is definitely a chance there will be GT5 stuff there.

Ah ok, I thought it was GDC Europe. :dunce:

But in the end the internet is everywhere, so releasing a trailer via PSN or on the Gran Turismo homepage, is as good as uploading it from Europe or anywhere else.

I guess this GDC is the closest event to the GoW3 release. If they don't want to take the chance to present the trailer to a big audience (the press and the industry aswell), they might just release it via PSN and hope for the fans to find it.

This is really making sense to you? A trailer, meant for the Euro market, released at at US game show?
Yes.
  • Media from the planet Earth will be there.
  • Many people will expect some substantial Playstation news news there.
  • While SONY Europe could release a new trailer at any time, it has more impact at a gaming event, and the only major event due next is E3 in June.
  • We did get something unexpected at Cologne last year.
So we may get nothing much, but there's also no reason SONY wouldn't make a GT5 splash of some kind at GDC.

Does anyone think the textures on HSR have been improved?

New HSR

Old HSR (Prologue)

This was just a quick comparison I did from a video of prologue I found on youtube. I know the angle and position of the corner isn't exactly the same but I can assure you it is the same corner.

Yes they certainly have, its apparent they have done this to Fuji too. The track surface is also more detailed.

The appearances of the tracks in general look great in the latest builds, they no longer look so perfectly maintained and as a result look more real.

The grass texture in this Tsukuba shot are a great example.

Very nice. :)

Maybe it's already been said, but does anyone else think a gymkhana/autocross builder would be a cool feature in GT5? Gymkhana rocks and it would be a really easy way for PD to put in a "track" builder. Man, that'd be cool.

I don't know whether plans have changed, but ESPN are due to cover the opening match of the World Cup on 11 June on a new 3D channel and Sony are recording 20 or so matches, with broadcasts to be confirmed.

This would suggest 3D TVs will be out before mid-June??? Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, it is therefore obvious that GT5 will release June 2010 - "Official".

here you go.

Sexual, ta! (though I personally prefer the frame immediately before this one, where the car's lights are still off...)

It has, many times I think, but I agree it would be really quite good. Especially now that they seem to be modeling the environments as one instead of each track separately, similarly to rFactor and LFS.

I'm thinking more like late May, but I should probably just keep quiet. :ouch:

I'm new to this website but I wanted to share some ''news'' about GT5's release date. http://www.gamekings.tv// go to this website and click on the Blur preview on the main page. In the preview he talks about GT5 and how it's coming earlier then expected. In Spring he says. He mentions it at 6.45 in the video. The website is Dutch btw.

Nice find! 👍 Also, A friend of mine it's kind of a "photographer', he's not professional but he knows what he's doing with the camera, and one of his complaints about GT5P is that there's a lot of sunlight filtering, the weather looks too perfect and clear and there's a lot of contrast and color everywhere, it's not the way the human eye sees the real colors, it kills some of the realism on the replays. The sun effects seems more pronounced in this build, so there's less contrast and the result shaves off some of the impression to be watching a videogame. 👍 PD Rocks!

Not to complain or anything, but i never understood why people are so bent on visual realism. Every game that's supposed to look "more realistic" ends up being the same old depressing gray-a-thon.. I personally like the colorful world of GT with it's perfect weather conditions and live colors :dopey:

I on the other hand, dislike it. Like the pristine grass on the side of the roads, perfect tarmac and vibrant colors.

I prefer the look on the trailers with the tracks worn and less vividness.

Guys, I am sure I am not the first one to notice this...
Several cars in the new pictures have windshield wipers! Rain is, hopefully, going to fall on GT5 as expected... I can't way for some footage about rain...

For the majority who don't speak Dutch the guy expects GT5 to come this spring, it's just his guess, he does not explain why or how he comes to this conclusion.
Just his gut feeling, for what it's worth............
