As I sit here typing this sentence, I'm literally at a loss for words. I don't know what you're asking or why you even decided to respond with that whole "your threads/comments/ polls suck comment".

Because they are no different in any way than this "guess that car" game. They were useful only to pass time, like this game is at the moment. And I never said your threads/comments/polls sucked, I said they were silly, which is not the same thing.

You called this game silly, but it isn't any different than most things you have posted in this section.

Because first off: They were successful and helped me determine a lot of things.

Yeah, that people have nothing better to do.

And secondly, what the heck are you asking again? (lol)

You said this:

Really? They got great feedback, great number of votes. So the majority has spoken.;):sly:

So I asked:

And what exactly do you see is happening here?

As far as I can see, this little game has received a huge amount of feedback. So if your threads/polls are not silly, this game isn't silly either. But if you carry on saying this game is silly and your polls aren't, explain why.

At least this game has a little bit of fact about the final game. Your polls? None that I could see.

Also I've been told I'm now allowed to add that "the car" is a Le Mans 24 Hour class winner (so, my apologies to those who aren't race car fans).

Great to here that it is a race car! I love any and all types of race cars so the more the merrier! And a 24hr winner is even better!

ps. Good to see you on the boards again amar!!

I applaud you for analyzing my entire post. It takes some real guts to do that to my post because I'm usually the first to strike (and strike hard!). But I already sent you a PM. I'm not the type to flame another on a public message board. And to be honest, this isn't that serious at it may seem. No?

In the end, however, we're in the same boat. We're hungry for a GT5 snack. And I think you're just suffering from starvation. It can get the best of any person. Even you, Lucas. Even me.

Totally unrelated to your post, but no way someone's going to look for all Le Mans 24hs class winner just to find what this car's brand is!

Yeah i would probably have a headache for a year, trying to figure that one out!

Geez, we have most of the Group C/GT1/GTP and LMP class winners, off the top of my head. But if it was an overall winner, would he have said just 'class winner?'

GT/GT2/GTS has been nothing buy 911s, Vettes and Vipers winning. Except for the '07 '08 Aston Martin DBR9

I wouldn't put it past Him (sic.)

My third list :D

  • Chevy C6.R - probably already in...
  • F430 GT2 - ditto
  • Audi R10 TDI - Diesel - strong candidate, given the 1-series in GT4; opens up a rather large can, especially given the talk of more hybrids.
  • DBR9
  • MG-(Lola) - I personally hope it's this, could open up the door for more Lola cars! :dopey:
  • 550 GTS
  • Reynard?
  • BMW V12 LMR? - Got a V in it :grumpy:
  • 333 SP - Yes please!
  • TWR?
  • Courage?
  • Debora LMP295?
  • Dauer 962? - is it still technically a Porsche?

This is only going as far back as 1994, excluding the PVK manufacturers and those already seen in GTs of yore...

P, K, V.

Not the 'Vette or the 333SP

DBR9. :D (awesome!)

p.s. Nice to see Amar back! Now Amar, be nice again and spill some beans on anything you wish, people are starving here!:D ;)

I like a good pun

Welcome back Amar  What's this backup from the east then???

That's all I've been told I can reveal. Of course an overall winner is also a class winner.

GT/GT2/GTS has been nothing buy 911s, Vettes and Vipers winning. Except for the '07 '08 Aston Martin DBR9

There's no age limit. Could be anything from the 1923 1.5 class Bugatti Brescia 16S right up to the 2008 GT1 class Aston Martin DBR9 (the oldest and newest eligible cars - Le Mans class winners; no P, V or K; Manufacturer previously seen in GT games [Bugatti in GTPSP; Aston in GT1-4 and Prologue]; Manufacturer not yet confirmed for GT5 [though Bugatti are in GTPSP and Aston are in Prologue, neither are confirmed and Aston are bound by an exclusivity agreement with MS]).

Just to help, you understand :D

OK so I missed a few PVKs, but so long as you're all awake too - "information" provided is digested at your own risk! :D

Some more:
  • BMW M1
  • Rover-BRM - Shame it contains a V, this was powered by a turbine engine!!
  • Lancia Aurelia
  • BMW 328 - also won a Mille Miglia at some point, I think...
  • Alfa Romeo 8C - massively successful racing chassis, along with the 6C
  • Mercedes Benz SSK - cack, it's got a K in it :grumpy:
  • Bentleys: 4½ Litre and Speed Six - 1929 was a good year for Bentley!

And apparently now many Bugattis that I ignored on the way. :ouch:
Their Type-C was also a bit of a dominant force at one point.

Then why is the DB9 on the AGS 2009 video?

That's a very good question - it is unmistakeably a DB9.

From what I understand of it, the deal was signed (by accident) in mid-2009 in an agreement which had something to do with the supply of software for the Astons' in-car touchscreen stuff. This was the primary reason for the exclusion from GTPSP which released in October. To be honest, I'm not the best person to ask about this on GTP, since I don't really have the most direct line to Aston.

The only answer I can come up with is that it was an old Prologue build on the 'Ring - as a lot of that footage seems to have been recycled from quite some time ago.

Someone needs to get on this. How do you sign a deal 'by accident' that limits the use of the marque to a particular format?

Sounds like standard Microsoft practice to me, probably within the small print of the contract those greedy b*st*rds let Aston unwittingly sign.
Still, if this is the case it is also Aston's fault as this shouldn't have happened to a professional company, anyway it's our loss....

It's strange seeing people acting like there have never been Astons in GT before. The DB7 was in the first game.

Sure, but it could for the very first time not be the case if this is true.

As we're all hoping for Porsche and Maserati, etc. one of the iconic brands present since the beginning and we all took for granted is all of a sudden becoming uncertain...

Anyway, if this knowledge was already present, the Le Mans class winner could then be the DBR9.

As I say, I'm not the best person to ask. What I understand of it is the deal by MS to supply software to Aston also limited the supply of Astons to software.

That's not to say Aston can't appear in non-MS games, but MS seemingly have a power of veto on Aston's image rights in software - the same as the classic Porsche and EA agreement.

All I know is that, in terms of multi-car manufacturers, Aston was the only marque from GT4 to not appear in GTPSP, and the MS deal, to my understanding of it, is culpable.
