p.s. CarBastard: I seriously doubt you will be "forced" to drift.;)
p.p.s. I would love the livery editor too!:)

And, my point regarding drifting is that it might be enjoyable for a certain amount of people, and the way it's implemented in GT5P is ok, but I don't want to be forced to do drifting events in GT Mode..
Nobody is going to foce you. You just don't do those events that's all. Just like players who don't want to do NASCAR...

*In James May's voice* Ah, well you see...

The ACR Viper, according to Dodge's official "Build my own" site, comes in 10 colors, and none of them is close to that shade of purple/pink. Really, anything. Neither it's on the options list.

It was a 2008 colour option only, IIRC there were only 8 or so produced.

and as mentioned there was a big discussion on this a while ago already.

Ohhh ok, thanks for clearing that out. I was looking at the 2010 colour palette.

Any other colors?

I just found out to be so bored I made an image with all 2010 colour options and names. Just give me a sec til Photobucket uploads it...:ouch:.

EDIT: Here it is:

The GTS Blue is the closest to the screenshots of the purple color.

They're definitely two different colors. Not sure what to infer here, but it's interesting, nonetheless.

Don't bother looking for it in my list, as Jay said, it's a 2008 option and my list is for 2010.

If there is a livery editor, it'd have to be revealed at E3. And by reveal I don't mean that KY will appear on stage and say "Yes, dammit, there is a livery editor. You guys happy now?"

Hopefully, he mentions in the tuning section or the GT Auto section (which has yet to be confirmed or denied). I can think of so many ways to enhance that Viper ACR with the use of a livery editor. So I pray it's in.

First things first, welcome back Amar and may it be a warm welcome.

As far as Aston not being/being in GT5... MS develops software for many companies, most predominantly Ford. Yet we know there will be Fords in GT5. It just does not make sense for MS to block Aston from being in GT5, especially if this partnership is low key.

What an evolution.
From guessing a new car in GT5, which is good news,
we're now discovering (most of us) that the prestigious Aston Martin could be absent in GT5... I don't like it anymore. The good news should overshadow the bad, not the other way round.

From my point of view, the Aston Martin line-up has always been fairly limited.

GT1:
Aston Martin DB7 Coupe
Aston Martin DB7 Volante

GT2:
Aston Martin DB6
Aston Martin DB7
Aston Martin DB7 Volante
Aston Martin V8 Vantage

GT3
Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Coupe '00
Aston Martin V8 Vantage '97
Aston Martin Vanquish '00

GT4:
Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Coupe '00
Aston Martin DB9 Coupe '03
Aston Martin V8 Vantage '99
Aston Martin Vanquish '04

This list is pathetic, particularly the GT4 list. No DB1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, no DBS It doesn't include any of their classic race cars, or any of the classic Bond era cars (Apart from the DB9 and Vanquish of course). Not even the DBR1 which won the 1959 Le Mans 24 hours (Which is surprising, considering PD seemed to add lots of Le Mans winners in GT4. Obviously they couldn't add Porsche or Ferrari, but they added countless other cars so why not this?)

If they're only going to include 3-4 road cars from their current line-up, and no classics or race cars (Classic and modern), then I see no point to include them at all, because I don't like the DB9 or the Vanquish, or the V8 Vantage, or the One-77 (I do like the DBS however). I like the DB7, which PD decided to remove in GT4, despite having it in GT3... :S

The exact same goes for countless other historic brands, which have only been given a handful of cars from their near 100 year history in the past.

Cadillac in GT4 is probably the best example, one concept car to represt such a historic brand? That can't even race in events of its class because of its concept status? No thanks, may aswell not waste their time on it.

The same can be said for BMW. Where are their wonderful M cars beginning with mighty M1, M635CSi, E30 M3, E39 M5, Racing 3.0CSL and many other models? Model selections like this remains true mystery to me.

if you took the same attitude to every car company you'd have well over 2000 cars, so it's a matter of logistics and common sense!
And maybe it's also down to the manufacturer as well.

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean you should.

The... whu?

I thought the issue regarding Aston was pretty well known, given that they're the only multi-vehicle manufacturer present in GT4 that were cut from GTPSP? Sure, we lost other manufacturers, but only those which had one niche car which in GT4 wasn't available in LAN mode. We were all talking about it back in October when GTPSP was released...

Jaguar seems to have a bad pick aswell. Though GT4 does have a couple of Jag race cars (One of them being a GT concept, the XJ220 race car), it misses out some of its most successful and prestigous race cars. And the road line-up is limited aswell.

Hopefully GT5 will represent European and American brands fairly. Its natural that the Japanese brands should have priority for a Japanese game, created by a Japanese developer for a Japanese company, but it's largest markets are the European and American markets. Whilst giving us NASCAR and WRC is good, we need to see good representation of the domestic brands over here, and not just a handful of current models. I like how they have done it with Japanese brands, how they've incorporated many different and historic models, aswell as full current line-ups. They just need to do the same for EU/US manufacturers (And AUS too I guess :P).

The... whu?

:dunce: Odd how I've never actually got the car in GT4, I need to look harder in the used car lot. How did I miss that :dopey:

(I just copy and paste that list from the guides section, I thought it wasn't in and didn't think to check twice)

Do you really think that work on bunch of useless japanese hatchbacks present in past GT's was better choice than whole line of BMW M's, historical Astons or racecars of both brands?

Yep.

If it came down to a choice between a useless Japanese hatchback or nothing, because PD couldn't get access to a BMW M, historic Aston or Aston/BMW racer to model, I'll take the hatchback.

Plus the car is half the story. The tuning is the rest of it - something missed from Prologue.

What Famine said. Besides, I'd like to know what you consider a "useless" Japanese hatchback. A 240SX or Sileighty? Meh on you. ;)

Yes. It's a car in the game I can drive. The E30 M3 isn't - for whatever reason.

Why would it be a straight choice for PD between the two though? Is there any evidence that a Mazda Demio is in the game at the expense of an E30 M3?

OK, for bloody defenders, is Mazda Demio better addition to the game for you than BMW M3 E30 is?

Of course not 👍 ..if it'd come down to a choice between a useless Japanese hatchback or whole line of BMW M's, historical Astons or racecars of both brands.
