It's just speculation but most games I've played recently, off-line single player looks much much much better than online. COD:MW2, BFBC2. They all lose that finishing touch that makes offline look so great. I just wouldn't be surprised if online looked less amazing than offline.

wow, good one.

And yes, I'm waiting for someone to come in and say those are shooters and this is a racing game so it's completely irrelevant.

Your right, Forza3 racing in single player looks better then when racing online so true with any online game.

Shouldn't 90% of this forum go with it?

Finally someone who realizes the truth. Though I believe the percentage of useless/speculation threads is around 98%.

I was just saying that I WON'T be surprised if online has toned down graphics. It's the norm and as much as all of you want to think otherwise, GT5 will have to make sacrifices.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Not REALLY. Considering Killzone2's online looks exactly like its single player. The only difference are the dynamic hit and death animations.

Not only Killzone 2. Uncharted 2 also looks exactly the same. Also does Soul Calibur IV, GTA IV, GT5P, MSG4, Demon Souls and pretty much every game I've played online.

It may happen but it's not the norm from where I stand.

This.

Since Prologue came out, I've yet to see any new trailer, replay, demo video or whatever where more than 8 cars were on track.

E3 trailer had 16 cars with Nascar, and there have been a few others. Also 10 and 12 cars have been shown a lot.

yep, I've seen a lot of clips with more than 8 cars. I've not seen a lot with 16, but I have seen 16 cars.

I think we already know of more than 16, they arn't all from the same year. But that's besides the point anyway we've seen the same cars in the same race a couple of times, the game seems happy to allow the AI to use the same car as you or for two AI cars to have the same car.

The lower grid sizes appear to be for the pre-release demo's only, we are still seeing 16 car grids in some scenes in the videos. There is little doubt that the lower grid sizes are just being used to help guarantee these demos run with more stability than they might with 16 car grids.

The game indeed repeat cars a lot but there's a difference between repeating ferraris in the grid and cars that are supposed to be one of a kind. Specially if they have their respective drivers inside. It would be weird. Wouldn't like it really.

Here you go :D

PD is really re__ed for having most realistic looking cars ever but with most bland sounds ever.. I am sorry, but they are really F____ng things up for me and most of us with really really really poor sound!!!! :grumpy:👎 Yes sounds is huge part of being a car fanatic.

PD get your act together with Sounds..

Heck, I've seen many rFactor mods that are FREE that car is made by 1 or 2 people and sounds way better then GT5. I doubt with this year release, they will overhaul the sounds. I am very mad at PD.

Not for a game, but that's still besides the point. They have and on occasion do repeat cars on the same grid in GT games past and present even if it is a one of a kind. There are one of a kind cars in GT games since GT1 that you can win more than once, isn't that weird? Not really because it's a game.

I get your point. It's a game, it's valid. However to me it's weird. Takes away from the realism and immersion. Sure, it's not a major problem like the problem with racecar sounds NoxNoctis Umbra just lost his head for. I shouldn't even call it a problem, but it's weird nonetheless.

Have you played GT5:P ?

Full 16 players/cars on and off line. No difference in looks. And technically off line is more demanding with 15 AI

Definitely the best graphics in a sim but the sounds..... not so much. Not only engine sounds but tire sounds are the worst imo.

I find the tire noises to be very dynamic and informative. That noise is quite useful, since we lack the basic feeling of G-forces.

It may be a little amplified, but as you improve your driving and your tuning, the tires make less noise. Quiet tires are happy tires.
