Bugger. I thought they said they'd re-built the physics from scratch? That looks similar to the wheelie bug we've had at least since GT3.

Maybe it's an aero issue, and the aero modeling hasn't been touched since then?

There were a few posts over there discussing it. Seems that it only happened if the front got damaged.

It looks similar because something doesnt let the car go flying.
The reason why this happens should be different.

Guys do you think that we will get nothing from PD until E3??I'm waiting for the Gt5 trailer(european version),Sony promised it...

When / Where ?

It's not a glitch, it due to damage on the front bumper, reducing front down force and mabe adding front lift, and then when you hit 140kph, the rear wing pops up and increases rear downforce, and up goes the front :)

Add that to the rollover limitation and a bump and we have the classic GT wheelie car  (which remind me, is NOS back?)

Yeah, that seems to be the case, at least the very end of the effects "chain" is different. But it does seem, then, that it is the aero that is causing the effect, and some lack of consideration with the aero model that is preventing the car from going airborne (as it should, at that speed and angle!).
So, what this means is the aero model works independently of the angle of attack, such that the rear of the car is still getting the full downforce, which it almost certainly won't be, given the airflow is completely different.

Well, it is a glitch, because it shouldn't be happening the way it is! It should be like that Mercedes CLR clip, or a NASCAR-style blowover etc.

Anyway, it's a good sign that the aero performance is affected by damage, though I'd noticed it in the previous vids :dopey:

By the way, I don't think PD specified a precise date in March, unless we are taking that previous (pre-order?) pic as "proof"...

EDIT: this'n

Its still a bug, something like this shouldnt happen on a road car and especially not at 140 kph.

Well, confirmed yes. Confirmed for all vehicles? Perhaps not. The "glitch" could be the result of a physics engine that allows rollover, but a car that isn't allowed to rollover.

Was referring to the release date.

As for that glitch. I think the demo was like: "Oh, ****!, This is only a demo. I nearly forgot. I cannot totally roll over yet. Got to save that for later!"

Gotta love how anything going wrong related to GT suddenly becomes a feature.

"By the way, I don't think PD specified a precise date in March"
Oh, they did, but only for Japan.

Tokyo Game Show Confirmation List

-Gran Turismo 5 is set to release on March 31st 2010 in Japan

-An American and European release date is said to be announced soon

I think the second is worse. 1/2 a year later....still no word.

Sorry to bring up shifting again, but for those people complaining about it is the paddle shifting in this video alright for you?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hMZ3FeKKwU

Does he never downshift? He only uses his right hand, quite well, to shift up and down on the same side of the wheel.
The animation looks good. To shift he pretty much moves his hand forward so that the bottom of the palm rests on the wheel while the fingers are free to use the paddle. That how I do it at least.

While these videos are brilliant, has not one person tried to get in touch with the author to find out whats most important? Like, oh i dont know, what the physics are like!? ...I want some real info from this demo.

Driving physics, are we talking TT or GTP level? Better than both? How?
Force feedback and general wheel feel. Improved?
Tires, how do they perform, are compounds notably, and relisticaly different?
Collision physics? Can you run barriers, do crashes carry momentum?
AI. It certainly looks leaps and bounds ahead of GTP. Is it?

Please, you have bathed my eyes in awesomeness, and for that i am grateful, but give me something to think about! 👍
Well, I was impressed with the car behavior I saw, such as the way the cars bounced fairly realistically from the curbs of the Nurburgring. Or the way they bob along an undulating stretch of road, or take an air hop over that rise on the Nurb right after the bridge and before the long gradual first curve. To me, they looked outstanding, and indicate some pretty darn good physics.

I'm hoping for something between Prologue and the TT demo. I love the way Prologue feels, and I had a hard time getting used to the TT demo physics. I just didn't get enough feedback through the wheel and it was way too easy to spin out. However, with all the videos we have seen I don't see many people spinning out, so that give me some hope.
I'm kind of the other way. I loved the challenge of coming to terms with the TT physics, and it helped that the DF GT wheel is such an excellent controller. I'm hoping that the physics are further developed and even more realistic, with good tire squeals to let us know how well the car is gripping the road. And a carefully done grip/loss envelope to rival even the best PC sims. Maybe GT5 needs a third performance level to cater to the true hardcore racer: Standard (arcade), Advanced (similar to Prologue), and Professional (full bore realistic). And of course with a full load of driving assists to tailor your experience even more.

I don't know why but i feel GT5 is getting closer, no news for a while, the demo, i think we're gonna get a big announcement soon
