They DO listen!

This one little detail can speak volumes about the type of AI we can expect to see.

supraevasion.jpg

Whilst this seems a big improvement in AI, it still seems like the driver looks no further than the end of his bonnet. Surely he should be looking down the road to find his line and any obstructions, and only swerve at the last minute it the other car makes an unpredicatable movement.

In this example the car was clearly on the right hand side metres before the car arrived and only at the last minute swerved to avoid a collission.

Yep, I've played DiRT and DiRT2, loved them both - not too bothered about GRiD though, but definitely interested in F1 2010.

I've only got the first Dirt game ( liked bits of it ) and i only mentioned those Codemasters games by coincidence.
My point was there are aspects of driving/racing PD hasn't touched upon and would leave room for different titles.
That's why i started the 'unlikely vehicles' thread, although that took a direction i didn't quite forsee , to see whether there are still disciplines/categories left for a large audience to be interested in.
But it might not just be different vehicles but also a different approach or structure/context which could add a new and fresh look on driving games.
As much as i love GT it might be very healthy for a real competitor or a credible new kid on the block to shake things up a bit.

From what I've seen.......In WRC the tracks gradually deform from your tyres and it stays that way all in real-time.....
Lighting has been greatly improved and the graphics of every track in the game has been improved 20x's over from the current build you guys are seeing on mimiximax's YT channel.........The game is 97% complete.
So Tapey asked;

...........One thing I would very much like to know however is that if you've seen the game in action and know all of this information, can you share information in regards to what tracks are in the game, and how many? I have a lot of favourites from GT4 that would be sorely missed if they weren't in GT5. Go on, get me hyped up :D

To which you replied;

...........About those tracks, Yamauchi only showed me a very up to date build of the Nuremberg (he seems to test every knew feature on their lol) but the Rally course I only got to see in pictures and few descriptions. The pictures were close-ups of wheel arches and deformed terrain so I don't know what track it was taken from.

It seems as though Yamauchi didn't even want to show us the tracks for some reason but he was happy to reveal info of many other features including rain and PS-Move support.

So, which is it, did you see the tracks or not, because I'm confused.

then you have to coordinate 15 AI doing the same - gets messy and processor heavy me thinks, plus the human player is unpredictable :)
there is a reason why Chess is one of the few games they can plan ahead, but it isn't in real time

did you not see the first car go right of the player, then the next batch left, and the Supra swerving at the last moment due the player moving

I saw it, and I all I can say: Impressive!

As a matter of fact, AI in GT always suck, but it felt a little bit human after all, the AI car was waiting for the best moment to avoid the collision, just like any decent human racer would do, taking another line through the track would mean a risk of being hit by other car which could be coming.

But we have to see in multiple collision situations, like the ones you get in the 'ring in that demo, the cars are always flipped aside, I'm not sure how would the AI behave when four cars stop in a narrow track like the ring.

Love how the Supra avoids the incoming GT-R towards the end !

Thank you.

For giving me something I can truly admire.

I'm inclined to agree with that. Half-baked "Forza'esque" damage looks stupid IMO.

I think the same. It truly looks stupid, I'd rather have them focusing on something else.

If the final A.I. ends up being anything like that, then .

Wow I just can't believe many of you guys thought I was legit, I was just testing to see how you guys react and it seems some of you catched on very quickly. I know a lot of you are dying for more REAL GT5 news so I thought I'd play around with you guys to lighten you up from your sadness during this looooong wait for new info.

The thing is, is that most of the stuff I said seemed obvious to me that it would be in the full game such as terrain deformation and the stuff about the droplets of rain casting shadows on the dashboard. When you consider the power of the PS3 a lot of those features seem very plausible.

I was just playing guys and I think I took it a little too far so sorry, I was just trying to lighten some of you up.

I won't do it again.

The good thing is, its a ban reason here.

I won't do it again.
Of course you won't, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to post on this forum again.

I would be on my knees praying that the ban hammer isn't already coming your direction.

Why should I be on my knees? If I get banned then I get banned, but that won't stop me from visiting this site because I personally think it's a great site.

As I said I was just playing so take a chill pill people.

I don't think anyone believed you in the first place?

Although those who did will be very mad at you but as for me I actually liked some of your ideas being implemented in future GTgames .

Bye:lol:

And of course I never believed anything you posted.

Priceless.

I wasn't believing, I just wanted to see how far you would go before the banishment, I was waiting to hear "I did see improved trees and skidmarks". :mischievous:

Even if it was a joke, you seriously violated the AUP, you're lucky to be still posting here. So you're really a 18 year old, :irked:, you can't be a teenager forever, by posting such rumors in a well reckoned source of info like GTP, you're risking the credibility that many members here built over all those years.

There's an edit button, you know?

Lying and double-posting; you are having quite the experience, aren't you?

You don't have to be a teenager to joke around you know.

About serious stuff? And then be proud of it as you did? Yes, you don't have to be a teenager, you have to be a child.

Also, go over it, if you keep recalling this subject you'll always be flamed, the forum is dedicated to useful stuff. Forget it and move on.
