In replay one of Dodge Viper ACR mod pro at 2.25 on rear car glass the décors reflexion disepear sundenly. :ill:
Is it the deep field limite for reflection effect ?? 💡

at least they got the performance right as it gobbled up the Vette, the two Benzes and Ferrari under braking...even when going off line to make the passes

Let me behind the ZR1 and I will give the ACR a run for its money. Their real world lap times are amazing, and in GT5, it will come down to tuning and the gamer him/herself, (in order to differentiate these two similar cars).

And if I not mistaken, the ZR1 holds the best braking distance record for a production car. 60-0 in a mere 96 feet.

Yeah the ZR-1 can hold its own. Lets hope kaz balances the game right unlike Forza3 where the Viper can get an AWD drivetrain swap that dominates.

You make a valid point.

Kaz does seem to bias certain cars...slightly. I just want their real world performances to transfer into the game.

Aren't they also using different methods, seeing all those scale models and plastic kits in their office photo's?
Are they just for reference or do they also scan those and apply some realism afterwards?
That Art Morrison Corvette was clearly a one-off and there weren't any scale models available just like those brand new cars.
Just asking as i'm not very technical, but do they use real-life cars only for all their models?

Any imperfections in a scale model will also be scaled up so I doubt they would scan small models, since scanning doesn't give material properties I could imagine the modelers using models and photos to identify what parts of the cars are made from which materials or have particular properties.

perhaps they can actually display almost all the surface of the car's body just using vertexes, regarding PD level of crazy perfectionism, I think that's possible.

Vertices can't really be used like that, a vertex is a point and has no size. If you zoom in or out from an image created by filling pixels for vertices they won't change size, you'll only alter the distance between them and if you zoom into even a very high detail model you'll get gaps.

If you want to pretend you didn't expect a reaction to your first response to me, you are either lying or naive.
I'm not pretending anything kid, but go ahead, keep digging your hole. If I remember correctly, you were the one who came out with the smug comment in the first place. Everybody else was clearly fine with the humour, and either posted accordingly, or just read it and moved on with their life.

Pot >> kettle
Not really, seeing as though you invited the response in the first place, but anyway...

I take it you are referring to the saying, "Pot calling the kettle black"? If so, it would be me (the pot) calling you (the kettle) black, right? In that case, I wholeheartedly agree with you. The pot is definitely MUCH GREATER THAN the kettle.

If you care to take this further, please do so via PM because thanks to you, these past few posts have gone way off-topic. I'll certainly be saying no more on the matter in here, but if you can't stand to not have the last say in a public forum...yeah, thought so.

well some here said a few weeks back PD were at Mclaren scanning the MP4-12c and F1 GTR etc. So I figure they always go for the real things to scan. Especially in regards to the interior

http://playstationfeed.com/gran-turismo-5-release-date-unveiled/

UK online retailers CDWOW and Play have both stepped out and listed a release date for the long overdue racing simulation game Gran Turismo 5, on the product page you’ll find that the game is currently available for Pre-order and you’ll also see Gran Turismo 5 is Due for release on 24/09/2010.

We all knew this is the year for GT5, Polyphony confirmed the game will make it’s debute this fall but like always we were kept in the Dark about the Exact release date but now with two retailers spilling the beans this could be the real deal, well it wouldn’t be the first time retailers outed an official release date.

But with the long history of delays we can’t be certain until Polyphony comes out and confirms the release date, although it looks pretty promising to have retailers show the exact same release date but one thing for sure is that Gran Turismo 5 is coming out this year.

Regardless the release date we will definitely get our hands on the racing sim, GT5 is set to be one of the biggest PlayStation 3 exclusives, according to a recent study 33% of people who plan on buying GT5 don’t own a PS3 console. Which just goes to show the level of demand.

Thanks for pointing out these aspects as indeed scanning models may bring new problems like enlarged imperfections and the interiors needing the real life cars for scanning sounds perfectly logical.
Maybe all those scale models and plastic kits are just handed out by Kaz as rewards and/or act as motivation for finishing modelling the actual cars.

Mhh GT5 is 2 years too late... So there is no matter if it will released fall 2010 or spring 2011... It´s to late... it´s to late... sad sad...

[Ironic mode on]Maybe we won´t see GT5 on the PS3... It would be better for Sony to bring it with the release of the PS4[/Ironic mode off]

Why does they even have release dates when they delay every GT?? I mean are they seerious business mans? or are they just kids who doesn´t know anything about marketing? How can they handle their fanbase with every GT like this?`I thought in Japan is honor a big thing. But it´s is not honorfull?? what they did... It´s more a shame that they never can hold what they say...

I wouldn't get too excited...

We've been through this many times before. Until Sony gives a release date, it's just smoke on the water.

;)

Well, September or December, doesn't really make much difference to me if I'm being honest, but it would be nice to have it earlier. I know retailers have been guessing dates for as long as the PS3 has existed almost, but lately, a lot of retailers seem to be homing in on late September. Now, this could be an update from SONY, or one retailer guessing and the others simply following. If it is September, then I fully expect E3 to be the GT5 media blowout event.

Isn't that the release date of F1 2010? Could it be a mix up or could that date have some significance to Sony wrt to other tech coming out on PS3? I know F1 2010 is codemasters and cross platform but Sony could maybe have some leverage.

Why do people keep believing/writing/taking as fact/giving attention to these completely and utterly pointless retailer dates, along with the pointless "news" stories that accompany them?

It's June, then it's October, then it's September, then it's back to June again; it's crazy. And yet it still gets reported on.

Give me a break.

Well it is said it will be out sometime in the fall(and it's certainly out this calendar year) and supposedly the game is pretty much finished, or at least in the finishing stages for some time now. This 6 month bump is probably(as already discussed)a marketing decision by Sony, so in the end, I think this date is realistic.

And fire in the sky!

Err... sorry, musician in me... anyhow, while a specified date from other sources may be off by months, this does line up with what one of the SCEE heads stated in an interview. And it is within the bounds of a hint from a certain mod - not Delphic, here. And even though it could be some other period entirely, and, dare I say it, be even earlier, it does give us a bullet point to work with. Such as saving up seriously for a PS3 if you don't have one - and for pete's sake, get one! There are some fantastic games out there! Games a certain other system doesn't have. :sly:

Quite clearly I was having a bit of fun when they asked somebody to sumarise the latest news for them. If you cannot comprehend that, or find it totally unnecessary even, you made your point clear the first time without needing to repeat yourself.

In all honesty, I see less point in the direction you took things with your repetitive responses than what I did originally.

i had a laugh while reading your news summary. thanks for the update.

has there been any recent interviews KY has done? last one i can think of was when the 2 journalists interviewed KY in that room and there was this banging noise lol, and he had to ask this lady to clean the table.
