Every Laser Scanner I worked with, includes the information about intensity of every single point - The scanner gives a different intensity value for every material it scans. Theoretically, it would be possible, but knowing what value is what and how fine it can define the value haven't been studied much in the LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) field, as far as I know.

Because of that, I think your right about the photos method.

......

It would only give the reflective/absorbsion properties of the surface with respect to the wavelength of the laser (and possible some diffuse property?)

It could help in determining which vertices belong to specific groups though.

They probably have 75% of the photo's and models they need from GT4. Especially the photos. However I'm not sure if they took pictures of interior or not.

i really think companies like sony still treat costumers like this.. a trailer was shown on american sites, american tv, american version of some game like gow, so technically it was never shown in europe :s, the euro PSN did get a "new" GT5 trailer later even though its the same one

it's like gaming magazines who go like "huge exclusive next week or first look on some game" that we already know everything about from sites

👍

The Internet allows instantaneous communication. If they put some news on the Sony.jp or sony.us site, they can't seriously expect to release the same news any more than a few hours later on sony.eu otherwise it's already out of date.

Hey guys, what do you think PD is doing now that GT5 is over 90% complete.

Are they fine polishing the whole game, are they modeling new cars or are they trying to implement 3d and move suport?

I'd assume it's a combination of all of the above. There will also be marketing reasons behind it, but the delay in Japan did give PD a little more time to do their thing.

I think they're fixing whatever was the production issue they stated as the reason for the delay. As much as I'd like to think this is delay is a marketing/financial move, I believe that PD took it as opportunity to fix something they weren't too happy about.

well like that japanese guy said in the GTR video

to make something great you have to do it in a fast time and then spend the rest of the time polishing it .

So Kaz has got atleast one half right :D

I ain't waiting in line with money in hand, that'd be stupid. If I did that I probably never get a copy they'd be all gone. Pre-order all the way.

Same here, I allread bought GT5 for 60 dollars with Tax and everything from GameStop. If they will have Special Edition, all I need to do is to pay extra fro that. So Im set!
