I do believe PD is polishing up what is left to be polished up, maybe add a car or two and do some more testing and then gettin ready to release it. Can you imagine how long they've been working on it? Surely PD wants to get this out ASAP themselves. It is going to be a monumental occasion though.

I only hope they fix the clipping when shifting with the steering wheel...but other than that I have nothing to complain :)

nothing is certain in life, lets be glad it's as insignificant as a game release; nevertheless, E3 will most likely show us something awesome...or maybe not and that's fine to, it's not like they're on schedual anymore :)

Are GT5 tracks laserscanned?
Not much point in that.

They've already shown they can nail track accuracy, I think their nurburgrung was down to an inch at any point on the map.

Laser scanning is useful for the extreme detail in a track; and that chews up polygons faster then a field of cars. Which would mean to do it they'd need to cut a couple of cars out of each race. No need for that, I think.

That's just an animation thing, depending on how they've gone about it it could be a very easy, very quick fix now that the new cameras force them to care about the fingers on the back of the steering wheel.

I'd would think that they were pretty much done with the game in keeping with that march release deadline, then Sony came down and said hang on a sec we're going to hold off for while we have the move and 3d crap coming through the pipeline.

So I believe it was likely a marketing thing but seeing as this delay has occured it makes sense for PD to think ok well if we're going to wait we'll keep refining the game until the time comes to market.

No point sitting around doing nothing with that extra time.

Well, along with work on damage, a livery editor, weather and what-not, there also rumors that additional cars and tracks might have been modeled - as many as 200 additional cars! That sounds a scouche high, but anything extra that gets thrown in will be a nice bonus. Personally, I'm still pulling for more tracks, such as all the tracks from the previous games.

I reckon they might do that yes. But I don't care if they do or don't. To be honest I found with boost it made the career mode easier which I enjoyed less. I liked scrap fighting in some crappy cars first in GT3 to get my career going, made the ride last longer.

i guess this is true considering gamestop requires a release date to preorder, or reserve

Yeah, but they can make up a release date to hold pre orders, put a little star at the end and say date is subject to change. If it comes sooner, they'll just change it, if it's later, they'll just push it back a little bit longer.

Around 17:00 starts a discussion about 3D gaming and they mention Sony/GT5 etc.
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/skirmish-71-epicbattlecry/64402

They just keep showing CES GT5 footage, nothing else. At the 28min mark they mention how they would like gt5 to implement 3d.
They just talk about how 3D is more likely going to be a gimmick in most games and the implementation will play a huge role. With GT5 though, how can 3d enhance the game? If the gameplay itself won't be somehow 3d and only visual, then what is the point?
They mention NATAL and headtracking, 26min mark, and that would look great in GT5, if SONY copies M$, other than that?
I pretty much agree with everything they say about 3D.

Exactly, I don't see how it would improve the game at all. All it should do is make it a little more visually imersive but other than that nothing. Feels a bit pointless to me.

When i think of 3d and motion controllers and what-not-next-gen crap. Only fun I could imagine is playin some MLB game, baseball bat(motion controller) in my hand, and smack that ball as it seems to literally get pitched right to me! Awesome

I have yet to see how I could enjoy these new toys with my GT. I'd like to have a full virtual experience, now that would be cool, sitting there in my Playseat, and as literally look behind me, I then see the back view of my car :) Come' on PS4:)

ps3 isn't going anywhere. at least for another 3 years. maybe by 2013 the ps4 will be out, but with what technology? there has to be an advance in technology like holograms or something out there for the ps4 to be anything more significant than the ps3- which already has some serious power

I very much doubt there will be something as significant as hologram technology in the PS4. Maybe it'll just be a suped up PS3 with a bit of new tech in it.

Whatever it is GT by that point should be getting pretty close to real in terms of look and gameplay. The cars look pretty amazing as it stands. Would be interesting too see the tracks progress in quality too.

At least you know they'll never be short on ideas to include seeing as the fan base has so much to say.
