Now, I am really nostalgic and I want time to pass quicker at the same time. Pretty weird feeling.

Wow, it really is a shame GT4 is getting dusty at the bottom of my tv cabinet...

Time for a GT4 re-visit tonight if the wife will let me.. :-(

Thanks for dropping the link on here Canadian STIG!

Don't know if it's old:

Kazunori Yamauchi puts the pedal to the metal at the Nürburgring

Sony PlayStation® joins forces with ABT Sportsline again for the Zurich 24-Hour

Nürburgring: fast, snaking, legendary. Between 13 and16 May 2010 motorsports fans will feel their pulses quicken as the race track dubbed the “Green Hell” plays host to the 38th edition of the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race. This is the third year that Gran Turismo®, the race simulation game for PlayStation, has been a main sponsor of the endurance racing event. To mark the beginning of the motorsport season, Sony PlayStation and Gran Turismo are giving fans some real racing treats. GT Entertainment Area at the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race
The popular PlayStation Truck will feature games consoles and racing seats so that motorsports fans can test out their driving skills and experience the virtual adrenaline rush of driving the “Nordschleife”. Action-packed entertainment, Sony-style, also awaits guests in the large GT Area at the ringwerk°, where they can get a hit of high-speed action in racing seats or on PSPs. Regular prize-draws and competitions also keep the sporting spirit going.

Sony PlayStation and ABT Sportsline in starting lineup
Once again, this year will see the ABT Sportsline team and Sony PlayStation on the starting grid at the Nürburgring. A spectacular race secured the duo a well-deserved second place in 2009, and they are hoping to top that in 2010.

I think it would be better for them to host a dinner party instead of a lunch party. A cocktail party would be best though :sly:

This is what happens when you take the day off because you are hung over and there is no new GT5 news...

Kazunori Yamauchi, vice president of SCE and president of Polyphony Digital, the software developer responsible for GT5™, won’t just be present at the Nascar™ invitational later this summer; he’ll be taking part in the pre-race Kegger as well.

Hosted by Nascar™, Miller Genuine Draft™ and SCEA™ the pre-race Kegger will feature over 500 kegs of Miller Genuine Draft™. The pre-race Kegger is a fun time had by all for those attending the invitational.

Fans and Nascar™ drivers will participate in drinking competitions before the invitational race, some of the festivities will include the "Drink till you drop your Kegger competition™", the "Vaulting of the just finished Kegger competition™" and the legendary "My bitch can tap a Kegger faster than your bitch competition™".

Kazunori Yamauchi will compete in the "My bitch can tap a Kegger faster than your bitch competition™" with the fabled "Translator guy™" of GT5 news conference fame.

The event is sponsored by SCEA™ and Miller Genuine Draft™.

Because Yamauchi don't think about finishing the game rather than engage the races, to be a driver takes time and physical preparation, slows down his real work that is "GAME DEVELOPER".

He's the big cheese of PD, if he decides to race even if it were not at his leisure, doesn't mean his employees aren't working hard, it's called delegating.
Besides, i doubt it is strictly 9 to 5 for him anyway being constantly thinking to improve the final product, even or especially at the wheel of a racing car. :)

It's amazing that people seem to think Kaz is the only person working on GT5 :sly:

Most people there have beds under their desks as well some sleeping rooms. Just because game is on delay that does not mean no one is working. I am glad to wait few more months for better damage, improved sounds, and now day and night cycles with weather effects.

About that, do you remember the E3 trailer? It was a concept video...ok, but it clearly showed 4 things:
1)dents
2)scratches
3)dirt
4)movable objects: the metal bar stuck between the front bumper and the side panel then falling at the end of the sequences (at least that's the way I see it)

Do you think this is something we should expect or is it just a Utopia like the kind of damage Turn10 showed in one of the first trailers of FM3, which never made it in the final game?

p.s. the GT5 trailer from E3 also showed the cockpit of the WRC STi with the pilot and co-pilot. They look exactly like those in the replays we have seen so far....

You took that sentence completely out of context. Look at the previous page that has the transcript to the interview. It says the game will be completely different when it comes to scale and diversity. Yeah, well, no ****. GT5P has 70 cars and 10 layouts. The final game will have 1000 cars and 70 layouts. There's your scale and diversity difference.

What? How can you say it'll be better than it is now when you don't even know how it is now?

That picture of Rome on the GTP News section is simply stunning. Can't wait to throw some cars around that corner.

You certainly like GT Auto!

Well, I like what it can (and likely) will be.👍

It should be an excellent re-addition to the series. And with the scale of this game, it will probably be 10 times better than GT4's GT Auto, which was weak.

Well I'll ask you the same question: how can you say that's exactly what he meant since you don't even know how is GT5 at the moment?

-we don't know what PD means by "track" and "layout" (sorry Famine but we have nothing official)
-we don't know what tracks/cars we will get and how many (the word "over" was mentionned several times)
-we don't know if WRC, NASCAR and SUPERGT are the only licenses we'll get (I'll give you an example: D1GP)
-we don't know if the features list we've seen so far is the final one or we'll get something else
etc...

Kaz's statement is fuzzy and contradictory, he said "the feel will be similar", but in my understanding, feel means the feeling when driving the car, translating: Driving physics.

Kaz is aware of the big difference between Prologue and GT5TT, he actually played the game :grumpy:, so his comment was logically directed at the menu system and visuals of the game (We already saw that many animations and screens are similar to Prologue). Nothing to do with physics, or real feel of the game. And as dave_sz stated, there's a huge and obvious difference between content load in GT5 and Prologue, so Kaz's statement was obvious and elusive.

Again, he slipped away from the press without revealing anything. :irked:

Same question? Kaz is comparing GT5P, which many f us have, to gt5, which we have been told what to expect.
we know there will be 1000+ cars, we know there will be 70 tracks/layouts/variations.
Why think of it any deeper when the easiest thing to think about scale and diversity will be cars and maybe tracks.

Visuals are the same? I personally think the graphics looks way better (not animations) for example the details on each car is simply amazing in my eyes

The tracks are way more detailed and the lightning is the best we've seen so far in a video game, making the cars look realistic

I think the graphics in the final game will be way better... As far as we know this demo build we've seen for so long could be very very very old

God of War 3 E3 demo looked OK but it did a huge jump in couple of months in development and not considered the best looking game this gen

I didn't mean graphics, I meant visual layout of the game. Sounds like we're going to have an updated Prologue's interface, of course it will be complex and way different from Prologue, but the navigation and feel of the menus will be the same. That's what I thought he meant, I might be wrong.

Regarding graphics, the improvements are remarkable at every build the've shown us, ranging from lighting to grass. So, there isn't really nothing new to comment or discuss.

We've already seen from the CES demo that GT5 will have an updated 5P interface; at least on the surface.

Who knows what it will look like in the World Map.

The World Map in GT4 was so basic. I can see GT5 totally enhancing it, making it more informative and deep. I definitely look forward to it.

But my question is: Will the dealerships be found in their appropriate countries/regions or will they be lumped under "Dealerships" like in Prologue? If you ask me, the latter is quite bland. I'd rather travel to Italy to purchase a 458 Italia rather than going to a silly little dealership icon.
