Only 7 days in September are in Autumn (in the Northern Hemisphere).

Nor is it any part of the 4th quarter of the calendar year.

Yeah, looks like I got four and three mixed up again! :dunce: Twelve is such an awkward (yet elegant) number, I can see why decimalisation was so popular... :P
As for seasons, I was going by the meteorological measure; 1st of September is apparently the beginning of Autumn, but for some reason I always thought it started sometime in August... I guess that's what living in the Outer Hebrides does to you, where "summer" lasts for three days in June

However, the release date claim is still unsubstantiated, irregardless of meteorological suggestion, astral signs or the local ecology... (dwarfs the whole "calendar year or fiscal year?" issue in terms of complexity, eh? - "No, we meant the beginning of autumn by the Hindu reckoning...")

----------> Back on Topic <----------

It seems we were all roughly correct in terms of why GT5 slipped. Kaz wanted to add some extra stuff, polish what was there and Sony had their own agenda. At least we know PD must've been trying very hard to get Porsche on board. Good digging, chaps! 👍

If you go to wikipedia you will find this:
Licenses
WRC
Super GT
NASCAR
Formula one
IRL
GP2 and GP3 series
Le Mans
FIA GT
Asian F3 series
Superleague formula
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turismo_5

thats really interesting , even on the japanese gt site are just WRC, Nascar and SuperGT listet .....

someone added this list just before a week , look --> http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gran_Turismo_5&direction=prev&oldid=356901000

this is from 14.4.2010

I thought it was 8 days? Sept 23-30, and whatever the minutes on the 22nd.

It's pointless really; if we're going to be all geometric about it, the seasons ought to start and end on the cross-quarter days, not the solstices and equinoxes.

To generalise: (North / South)
Winter / Summer: Nov; Dec; Jan; Feb
Spring / Autumn: Feb; Mar; Apr; May; Jun
Summer / Winter: Jun; Jul; Aug; Sep
Autumn / Spring: Aug; Sep; Oct; Nov; Dec

Using seasons, then, to frame a specific time for something is a definite bad idea; irrespective of whether one thinks the astral method is flawless, people always have their own ideas.

It would be nice, but IRL is not going to be in and Formula one is getting an exclusive title by codemasters, so this list is not trustworthy, exactly as all content from Wikipedia.

Do you guys remember that slideshow from E3 2009? Now that the game is pretty much finished, I want to see a new slideshow, containing the confirmed features and detailing each one. It will be there for E3. ;)

what is if they mean with formula one not the 2010 cars?

older cars could be possible or is this not because of licence trouble ?

I'm pretty sure PD is aloud to use the 09' and older F1 cars. Infact, when prologue was released, the Ferrari F2007 was only 10 months old, so who knows.

I was going to say "They got that from here, from a list/poll of racing series we would like to see in GT5"

But V8 Supercars aren't there, and I know there are quite a few Aussies here who would cringe if they go without a mention. So where that list came from is a mystery. It is also false. They had NASCAR for the Americans. Showing us Europeans Formula One will not only give them more future sales, it will also make a few of us **** our pants. Thats how I know they are not in, because we haven't seen it yet. It is also curious how only the top 3 of those are correct, they are not alphabetised or put in order of prestige or even in the order PD secured the license (They had the SuperGT license way before the WRC license). So Formula One and below are clearly false.

Why exactly? All of the sources are quoted on the bottom of every page. Its up to you to determine which is credible.

Then find me the source that lists all these licences.... The thing is, there isn't any. Anyone can contribute without even providing a source!!!

Where did I say the GT5 wiki was credible? The post I replied to said NEVER trust wikipedia.

The thing is that this part of the wikipedia entry actually doesn't have a source cited at the bottom of the page.

Both of you need to look at what I was replying to and not just what I wrote.

If KY says that March would've been too early to release the game.

I get the impression the basic game is complete, now they can focus on the bells and whistles.

So I wonder how many more months years :) before he's added everything he wants?

Sorry, I thought this is the GT5 General Discussion Thread. Technically you are correct with what you replied as well as with your opinion on Wikipedia, but as for discussing with you on this board, it's answers like these which make me not like you very much. But apparently you don't like yourself either, so I guess that's okay.

I'm sorry that you can't follow a 2 post discussion and that by doing that, I pointed out you can't follow a 2 post discussion.

EDIT

Does anyone else find it strange that the 3 interviews were all done at the GT Academy Finals, yet posted just yesterday. That's a long time apart for just a few questions. Did PD tell them to wait so that there would actually be some news at this time as opposed to feb/march, when the finals happened, and then absolutely nothing til E3 or so?
Just some speculation.

It's a conspiracy :ill:
