Sony doesn't have anything that could steal the thunder away from Gran Turismo 5 this Holiday season - not even next year.

I really, really hope GT5 comes out this year!

First, Sony moves MAG into next year, then a Logitech rep says that G27 will be available this September - and now this.

Could Sony be making room for GT5 this Holiday season?

I don't think the G27 has anything to do with GT5 since likely they won't be "officially" compatible, just like the G25 is/was.

Every Gran Turismo title [full games and not the Concept/Prologue versions] has had the Logitech support.

In Kazunori Yamauchi's own words, Gran Turismo 5 is going to "become the industry standard" in racing games; so don't you think they would need the best, top-of-the-line racing wheel to lead that charge?

Probably not just you, I mean I really enjoy GT, but its still missing a few things that would make it great. Some of those things are impossible, like seat of the pants road feel, and the effect of G-forces on the body, but apart from that there are one or two things that could be tweaked. One of the big things I've noticed is the lack of that awful feeling you get when a car understeers. In a real car you can feel the effect of the treadblocks squirming and slipping over the tarmac and it feels, well rough through the wheel, and you just don't get that in GT. That and they still haven't modelled the effect of an LSD properly, the sideways inertia that you get as a powerful rear-drive car crabs off the line and steps a little sideways. I'm guessing that in cars like the F40 and so on, it would add an extra dimension to standing starts.

You get that slipping effect from understeering in FC and if a small developer known more for Big Mutha Trucker can do that, PD can surely do a much better job (the one in FC does feels tad artificial although it's better than none). As t the G-forces- with full on cockpit like the d-boxes, I can't see why not. I know SHIFT is compatible with it.

Yes but the G25 is not officially supported because it isn't a official GT wheel (out of KY's mouth), just like the G27 most likely will. If the G25 was officially supported we wouldn't need to press triangle every race for the clutch and configure the buttons in the DFP menu.

Yeah they're showing off GT5 on msn, its on the 'msn today' popup aswell, where you usually find concept car articles and stuff, Im surpirsied that Msn themselves show of GT5 and say that its 'the much anticipated return of the granddaddy of racing games'

But I suppose it doesn't really mean anything.

Looks like MSN are expecting GT5 to make an appearance soon. I just signed into MSN and on the news section, front page under 'today' was this this image and link to the E3 trailer.

Its a shame they can't spell the freaking name!

Possibly a new Motorstorm or that race game that is like Little Big Planet. I do hope it's GT5 though.
