Honestly, I won't be playing any 3D game in this early stage, mostly because I'm not going to buy a proper 3D HDTV, then the feature doesn't add anything to the experience to me.

I'm all in for new technologies and game modes, diversity attracts more customers and thus help to keep the game alive. However, this feature isn't going to be used by most players at a first moment, a waste of time in my judgement.

3D is maybe ok and can be fun but move support for GT5 is total waste...

Well, on a lot of levels I agree with this. I mean, all speculation aside, I completely agree with it. Although, the ideas I've seen bounced around on here for possible uses of GT5 + Move seem pretty...useful. It's also, like 3D, a new technology for Sony with a flagship title. I don't know, as it stands right now I could care less about 3D/Move. I'm just trying to say "okay, I guess I get it."

I`m in with the new technology, but personally this time i no like 3D (stereoscopy) for the single reason that audiovisual pieces (games/movies, not all) are made and compose even from the script in 2D, and personally i think that all the audivisual pieces must be played in their original soundtrack and screen format. In this case, and the mayority, that pieces are adapted to that technology.

For me GT must be played in 2D, like are conceived.

Sorry for my english.

Well... South Africa 2010 is around the corner and that will boost 3D, pretty sure GT5 will follow after it ends.

But I've been sure before (xmass '09) and been proven wrong...

All of you calling 3d a waste of time, have you actually played GT5 in 3D? It might be groundbreaking so why do you call it a waste of time?If you don't like it, fine, don't buy it. But as long as Sony owns PD(forever), PD will have to follow SCE's orders and 3D-Move marketing is one of them

My HDD was formatted, and today I downloaded the Concept VoL. 2 trailer again on Gran Turismo TV and it said
* A part of this video is edited since its release on march 13 2010*

Does anybody know what part exactly? Because I don't see the difference immediately.

Well, I'm not exactly for the idea of 3d TV as it seems totally useless to me. Not only is it waste of money really especially if you already have HDTV, an LCD TV or one of those but theres not much it does. What I question is its purpose. Exactly what is this gimmick supposed to do? We know that Move is obviously supposed to compete with Natal and the Wiimote, but about 3D? Does it add more immersion to the game and if so, how?

Sele1981
70% in 2012? I mean in 2010 99%... Also move... total waste of time and ressources for PD...

May I ask where you heard GT5 was gonna have Move support? Last I checked, it was only a rumorthat has yet to be confirmed.

Sony and Playstation are now sponsoring Peugeot at LeMans this year,I guess we should expect the 2010 Peugeot 908 Hdi to be in the game .

Are you sure its the factory Peugeot and not the Pescarolo Sport Peugeot?

It's the Peugeot. If it was the Pescarolo they would have specified...but it wouldn't have been a news anyway since its sponsor was already Playstation.

Peugeot+X360 bye bye:tup:

According to this news which is more precise it's "Team Peugeot Sport" and it was announced today by George Fornay CEO of SCEE France in a press release :

"Notre engagement dans la course automobile et particulièrement aux 24 Heures du Mans depuis 13 ans est au cœur de notre stratégie marketing. Cette année promet d’être exceptionnelle à plus d’un titre pour les fans de PlayStation 3, puisque 2010 célèbrera la sortie du jeu Gran Turismo 5, nouvel opus du jeu de course le plus vendu de tous les temps sur console de jeux avec plus de 55 millions d’unités commercialisées dans le monde.""

'Our commitment in the automotive racing and espacially at the 24 Heures du Mans for 13 years is in the core of our marketing strategy. This year promises to be exceptional in many respects for the PlayStation 3 fans, since 2010 will celebrate the release of the game Gran Turismo 5,new opus of the most sold racing game of all time on console with more than 55 million units sold in the world. I have a hunch that GT5 would be a complete flop after reading the news of 3D demo. Sony would suffer from the failure.

Ah, ok. What a surprise. Guess SCEE stuck an deal far more epic then Turn 10, was under the impression there was never gonna be a factory Peugeot without Forza on it. Truly amazing for Sony though. First, the Nascar license for GT5 (from the most hated game publisher right now) and now they managed to snag up a deal with the factory Peugeots after three years of Forza. I get the feeling the bombshell dropping is about to pick up.

The 2010 factory cars have already been sans Forza sponsorship all this season so far. That made chances very high we'd see a factory Peugeot in GT5, I guess now it is, for all intents and purposes, 100% confirmed that we'll see a 2010 908 HDi in GT5.

Now I fear that the Audi R15 is going to have the X360 sponsor :indiff:.

I wouldn't worry about that. Seems like other then the GT4 sponsorship with Team Oreca in 2005, Audi doesn't seem too keen on anyone other then their partners sponsoring their factory cars.

I did notice that at Sebring the lack of Forza colors but I assumed that like Pescarolo's sponsors did, they were gonna only be there for the big one at Le Mans. Guess I can scratch that off now.

I wonder if the car will carry the 'PS3'/'Playstation' or 'Gran Turismo' decals. I'd hazard a guess that it most likely won't carry both like the Pescarolo did. It'll be interesting to see.

That won't happen. Audi has been sponsoring there own car along with Shell for the past 5+ years.

As far as the Puegeot being in GT5, the Playstation sponsored R8 GT3 is in GTPSP so I see no reason for another totally sponsored PS car to be in GT5.

We will probably see some form of demo like we did last year but with a slightly updated build of the game. Just like the 24hrs of the Ring this and last year.

Exactly, but for GT5 the price doesn't concern me (still get it from Big W if it is available on time).

Big W usually is the cheapest for us here in Australia, the problem i have found with them is they only stock a limited amount a title. You have to be there first thing or you miss out. The staff are mindless young zombies that are extremely lazy and if you can`t find it on the shelve`s (which get so muddled up by other lazy, mindless customers) who just tell when you do manage to find one of them that if it isn`t on the shelf then it`s out of stock. They wont even look to see if there is a box full of them out the back, they just say we don`t have it and walk away. Other stores will check and try and get it for you. Just letting you know :sly:

Man, that sounds just like Walmart here in the states. Mindless people making jack who don't care about anything, except when they get off.

(I'm going to feel like an idiot if Big W is the Australian nickname for Walmart)

But, I will definitely be pre-ordering at Gamestop so that I can get it at Midnight. Plus I live in a downtown area and it will be interesting to see the crowds.

This is my take on the 3D. Sony hasn't even come out with their own 3DTVs yet. So i doubt that the story on the cover page will be repeated when GT5 hits with 3D. Seriously the technology was the same from CES, in other words more than 6 months ago. Sony has their own 3D technology and TVs hitting stores next month. And with that I bet we see a NEW 3D GT5 demo at E3 with Sony's NEW 3DTVs. I wouldn't see why it would be any different. CES demo with added 3D? Wow what did they expect it to be? Even though it wasn't bad and wasn't great, it shows that even more than half a year ago that early 3D was still decent. What do you think PD has been working on for the past half year? More cars? More tracks? I think what Kaz said before that he's putting the finishing touches on the game, can be taken as getting 3D perfected, other things like that. It wouldn't surprise me.

Don't know if it has been posted already but Soony just annonced that the first 3D games will be available on the 10th June in Japan.
It is for the moment only three games: WipEout HD, Super Stardust HD and PAIN.
But the important fact (I guess) is that 3D games are coming sooner than few were expecting (around september)... so since GT5 will have a (crappy) 3D compatibility it means that at least it can be released at anytime after the 10th of June... (but don't hope too much too)

Just found that as well:

Note the previously refered Bravia promotion linked as well:

That would be a worst scenario if we get old stuff again and again and... :nervous:
Again an "old" Nürbürgring demo in 3D and Kaz is talking about "move" and "3D" and nothing more, shows an 2 min trailer with 10 seconds of new stuff... And then we start again with "90 days to TGS" a 50/50 chance that we will get exactly this 💡
