I'm going to laugh at the people complaining about waiting for 3D and move and head tracking when the game comes out and blows away every other racing game, if not every other game period. Why is there complainers in this forum? If you're here to find out about GT5 great, this isn't 'Bash GT5 because of the release date' this is GTPlanet.
IMHO your assesment is severely short-sited. The reason their are complainers here is for the very reason you mention. If there is no GT, there is no GTP.
Have you looked at the average amount of people on at GTP lately.
One side of the compaints, with mine at least is this screwing around by Sony, to delay and add this, and delay and add that, is gambling with the future of the GT franchise.
I just posted in the E3 thread about GT5 being fourteenth in the voting for most anticipated game at E3 this year.
Fourteenth and not even getting half the votes of most of the top ten.
Not great news for a former heavyweight.
While the Gamespot results may not be a five alarm fire, it is a very good indicator GT5 is fading into obscurity with the gaming public at large. IMO thats a direct result of taking way to much time to get this game out.
It will take big sales numbers to pay for this game and provide the support to develop GT6.
Also they don't have the luxury of 100 to 200 million PS2 owners to sell to like they did with GT3 and 4. There aren't 35 million PS3 owners yet. (maybe that will be there next delay excuse)
Have you ever heard the phrase "timing is everything". It wasn't coined for ****s and giggles.
If you want to sit around tickle yourself, and praise Sony for all the time their wasting, be my guest. But don't expect everyone else to go along when time is of the essence.
Maybe everything will be grand and glorious. I hope so.
What bothers me is if it doesn't go well, Sony won't be the ones to take the fall for it.
I seriously don't think there should be anyone complaining about things when none of us have seen the finished product. I've already explained why the 3D wasn't super great. Back during CES 3DTVs were just a concept. Sony is waiting for their 3DTVs because they wanted to perfect the tech. The TVs the demos have are more than likely outdated with old 3D tech. If you've seen any 3DTV yet, most of them aren't that great. It isn't the fact GT5 doesn't have great 3D, it has more to do with 3D wasn't and still isn't the best it can be. Wait till next month, or later on in June rather for Sony's 3DTVs to hit the market and see if their technology or 3D implementation is good before you make a judgement on GT5 demos with early 3DTVs. It's like driving a prototype with the wrong tires and a detuned engine, no one knows how good GT5 with 3D will be untill we see the final product. So quitcherbitchen.
Do you seriously think 3D TVs are going to be all it takes to support GT5.
That won't be a drop in the bucket.
It will take 10 to 15 years for 3D TVs to saturate the market, and in this economy maybe longer.
