And if you read my post again it says "IF they are true"

Exactly, which is why we shouldn't put any trust in that assumption, there is no evidence behind it, but your post (#15682) comes across like there is. Unless I miss read the meaning.

Oh and BTW I don't mean to jump on your posts or anything. I have just noticed that this theory that GT5 is delayed by 3D or Move is gaining the momentum of a lot of people with no fact or strong evidence.

Uh, for legal reasons they can't. Neither Microsoft OR Sony would want it to happen anyhow.

Yeah, I know that.

Also what car are we talking about here?

We're just discussing possibilities, I was quoting Heath, who was quoting hardvibes, who suggested the possibility of a XBOX liveried R15. Nothing concrete here.

Legal reasons? Sony gets the rights to use a car and its livery which includes all sponsor logos. And why would you think Sony would get trouble for mimicking reality with a logo that exists in reality and that is the logo of a competing company? A logo to which they have the right to use it on the vehicles it is used in reality? Sony doesn't mind it as we have seen. Microsoft on the other hand....

What are you talking about? The official UEFA games have PS3 ads in all versions, GT4 had Konami (and I think SEGA) ads on some tracks.

We have seen PD include advertisements for cars that are not in the games, we have seen them include advertising for competing game publishers, but we have not seen competing titles or consoles advertised in game before. I personally don't think they will advertise the Xbox 360, Forza 3 or Turn10 directly.

If they do, I admit it will be pretty funny as Turn10 and Microsoft edited out Sony/Playstation/PD/GT adverts in their games. It would be like: "We're better than you and we know it. We don't need to fear the competition."

it's not a news or GT related but i don't think this video was posted...

i mean comeone 2 F1 and one F1 GTR in one garage.. i would be happiest guy in the whole world. And this girl makes me maaad ;)

And it proves that f1 still after these years is best looking sport car ever..

I would have slammed it into first and run that woman over!!

Although I respect the F1 for its capabilities I honestly am not in love with the looks. I am probably in the minority but I just think it looks kinda boring. I much prefer the LM version, maybe its just the boy racer in me?

I do think its aged pretty well though.

I'm in love with the Murcielago LP670-4 SV at the moment.

Well, the minority just increased by one, because I don't think it's the best looking sport car either. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, and it really has aged well, but for me there are far nicer looking sports cars.

What he said.

At the time GT4 was published very few actually competing titles existed.

Strange...I love Ferrari's (best looking ones), BUT...Mclaren is SOOO special.Maybe this is the reason why WE (fans) love this car so much! It's just fits our understanding of beauty. Not "forced" beauty, but natural.Very natural.Very natural beauty...I mean this is FEELING inside. It's so hard to describe.I love. Not "like".Just love!Yes i LOVE this car. That's for sure! ;)

I'm going to laugh at the people complaining about waiting for 3D and move and head tracking when the game comes out and blows away every other racing game, if not every other game period. Why is there complainers in this forum? If you're here to find out about GT5 great, this isn't 'Bash GT5 because of the release date' this is GTPlanet.

IMHO your assesment is severely short-sited. The reason their are complainers here is for the very reason you mention. If there is no GT, there is no GTP.
Have you looked at the average amount of people on at GTP lately.

One side of the compaints, with mine at least is this screwing around by Sony, to delay and add this, and delay and add that, is gambling with the future of the GT franchise.
I just posted in the E3 thread about GT5 being fourteenth in the voting for most anticipated game at E3 this year. Fourteenth and not even getting half the votes of most of the top ten.
Not great news for a former heavyweight.

While the Gamespot results may not be a five alarm fire, it is a very good indicator GT5 is fading into obscurity with the gaming public at large. IMO thats a direct result of taking way to much time to get this game out.

It will take big sales numbers to pay for this game and provide the support to develop GT6.
Also they don't have the luxury of 100 to 200 million PS2 owners to sell to like they did with GT3 and 4. There aren't 35 million PS3 owners yet. (maybe that will be there next delay excuse)

Have you ever heard the phrase "timing is everything". It wasn't coined for ****s and giggles.
If you want to sit around tickle yourself, and praise Sony for all the time their wasting, be my guest. But don't expect everyone else to go along when time is of the essence.
Maybe everything will be grand and glorious. I hope so.
What bothers me is if it doesn't go well, Sony won't be the ones to take the fall for it.

I seriously don't think there should be anyone complaining about things when none of us have seen the finished product. I've already explained why the 3D wasn't super great. Back during CES 3DTVs were just a concept. Sony is waiting for their 3DTVs because they wanted to perfect the tech. The TVs the demos have are more than likely outdated with old 3D tech. If you've seen any 3DTV yet, most of them aren't that great. It isn't the fact GT5 doesn't have great 3D, it has more to do with 3D wasn't and still isn't the best it can be. Wait till next month, or later on in June rather for Sony's 3DTVs to hit the market and see if their technology or 3D implementation is good before you make a judgement on GT5 demos with early 3DTVs. It's like driving a prototype with the wrong tires and a detuned engine, no one knows how good GT5 with 3D will be untill we see the final product. So quitcherbitchen.

Do you seriously think 3D TVs are going to be all it takes to support GT5.
That won't be a drop in the bucket.
It will take 10 to 15 years for 3D TVs to saturate the market, and in this economy maybe longer.

Exactly, thats the reason why

Not only that, the few titles that did exist didn't sponsor any major circuits, events of racing teams (And therefore liveries) that were included in GT4.

The only thing that comes close is Konami, but they only published EPR, not developed. Same with Sega, just the publisher not the developer. And Sega never had a console to compete with the PS2.

If you paid attention to the beginning of the Gametrailers countdown, they said that it was for games that not much at all was known about.

As said by Rash, we know a fair amount about GT5 compared to all the games on the list.

There are 35.7 million PS3 owners as of March 2010.

So what that GT5 hasn't garnered votes? GT has not, and never has been, the type of franchise that sends fanboys into a spin and has them voting on pointless polls; that's for fans of Halo, Gears, etc to do that.

At the time GT3 was released there were just under 15 million PS2's sold, and sold GT3 sold 14.89 million over its lifetime; GT5 will release with around 40 million PS3's sold. Sony don't need 100 million PS3's sold for GT to sell.

Really after that short Norschleife hype the interest is lost again, this up´s and down´s the makes people crazy...

Release this damn game or forget it... I bet the next dissapointment is coming in 14 days... Really if they do the same thing like last year at the E3, this game is becoming a big joke sorry... how can they play with their fans like this?

I hope it is the (how did you say it in english?) the silence before the big storm?

GT5 is nothing new, and it has been to long since the last release.

Outside of GTPlanet very few people would care to see it at E3. I don't think it will be a huge hit, but so long as I am happy with it then fine.

...how can they play with their fans like this?

Cause you let them? This random info every few months thing doesn't bother me. If they keep giving us gobs of info, there won't be anything new to see when the game finally comes out. I, for one, want to be surprised.

Exactly, GT3 was released in early period of PS2's lifespan and it was one of the biggest system sellers.
It's pretty much possible that GT5 will be such system seller for PS3. Also, unlike many other games, GT sales do not tend to fade quickly after release.

ok stop at 0:39 and tell me that this car looks boring..

It's a piece of art where look of car is shaped to machinery inside not other way. And it's amazing that this muscular shape was disigned in 1988-89. And it look sometimes more moddern than most modern supercars.

that's supercars of 1988-95 even porshe look outdated

Perkel, while I do agree with your assessment, this is not the place for such a discussion.

Stay on topic, or this thread WILL be locked until further notice.

That goes for everyone.

;)

According to what I read back in March at the close of Sony's fiscal year they had not sold 35 mil yet but were anticipating hitting that figure soon.

So what that GT5 hasn't garnered votes? GT has not, and never has been, the type of franchise that sends fanboys into a spin and has them voting on pointless polls; that's for fans of Halo, Gears, etc to do that.

Assuming thats true and thats a big assumption, its still not a good sign.

At the time GT3 was released there were just under 15 million PS2's sold, and sold GT3 sold 14.89 million over its lifetime; GT5 will release with around 40 million PS3's sold. Sony don't need 100 million PS3's sold for GT to sell.

By the time GT5 comes out it could be 100million PS3s

15 mil PS2s sounds too low when GT3 released.
GT3 sold that figure over its lifetime alongside 100-150mil PS2s.

At any rate, needless to say Sony was king of console gaming back then.
Its a different ballgame now.

Sony don't need 100 million PS3's sold for GT to sell.

I didn't say it won't sell. I said it has to sell Big. That means it will take more than Fanboys buying it.

My point is further delaying the game doesn't automatically equate to the game being better than it already is or worth the cost of the delay. It may
actually be detrimental to do so.

How many of you are going to wait to buy a 3D TV or a motion controller to get GT5 and play it? Not me and not many of you I'd say. Well if the Fanboys aren't, who else is going to?

So why delay the game over it?
Sorry, I fail to see the justification for it, especially after this long a wait.
I rest my case.
