I bet if you were a personal friend of Kaz's, he'd lean over and whisper "I can't believe Sony is making us **** with this 3D crap." - In Japanese đź‘Ť

Or rather, I could've had this game out last year if it wasn't for all this useless crap Sony is making me add and putting out GT PSP with the new PSP GO, instead of putting it out after GT5 like originally planned. How well is the PSPGO even doing anyway?

I think PD can obviously make a definite deadline to meet SONYs needs, like how GTPSP was, rushed to make the launch date. GT5 may or may not be rushed, but I bet it's going to make some kind of move/3D launch date rather than making those launch dates around GT5

I'm going to laugh at the people complaining about waiting for 3D and move and head tracking when the game comes out and blows away every other racing game, if not every other game period. Why is there complainers in this forum? If you're here to find out about GT5 great, this isn't 'Bash GT5 because of the release date' this is GTPlanet.

I seriously don't think there should be anyone complaining about things when none of us have seen the finished product. I've already explained why the 3D wasn't super great. Back during CES 3DTVs were just a concept. Sony is waiting for their 3DTVs because they wanted to perfect the tech. The TVs the demos have are more than likely outdated with old 3D tech. If you've seen any 3DTV yet, most of them aren't that great. It isn't the fact GT5 doesn't have great 3D, it has more to do with 3D wasn't and still isn't the best it can be. Wait till next month, or later on in June rather for Sony's 3DTVs to hit the market and see if their technology or 3D implementation is good before you make a judgement on GT5 demos with early 3DTVs. It's like driving a prototype with the wrong tires and a detuned engine, no one knows how good GT5 with 3D will be untill we see the final product. So quitcherbitchen.

 Would you laugh if you seen a car in GT5 plastered with XBOX360 sponsor stickers? I would.

i would not, if they menage to go with the same livery as the original even with X360 sticker it will be happy because KAz will show that he isn't a kid.

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally would have taken GT5 a year ago without 3D, move and any other kind of accessory / enhancement. I'm not saying those things wouldn't be amazing, but why do we have to have it all at once? Couldn't some of it wait for GT6?

sorry to post another one of these release date posts... but Ive just been holding the dummy box for GT5 in asda... with Sept 2010 on it. Now Ive always found asda to not put out a box for pre ordering unless is def coming in a few weeks or months so I'm def feeling a September release date! if Im wrong it was still nice to hold a GT5 box in a store! :)

Why are people complaining about 3D? We have no idea how well the implementation has worked. The preview in Japan recently was of a TGS-era build, using prototype hardware (causing the pop-up book effect). Hence, this is in no way representative of the final game, and I'm sure there were disclaimers to that effect all over the installation.

Keep an open mind until you actually try it. You might like it - especially if we get head-tracking-controlled pseudo-3D, which will work on any display, and will require only a relatively small outlay for the PSEye.

Gimmick my arse.

Exactly. If all this is trying to get into GT5 all at once I can't wait to see how much they try to stuff into GT6

The general perception among the the GT5 faithful is that it's Soony that keeps causing the delays and its not unmerited.

If they keep wanting to include this and that, there will never be a GT5 much less a 6.

The next delay will be; we want to include being able to play a kazoo while your racing. Wouldn't that be great!

Come on, get your a** in gear Soony and get the freaking game out.

 Would you laugh if you seen a car in GT5 plastered with XBOX360 sponsor stickers? I would.

Although promoting XBOX360 through showing sponsorship on the Pugs might be a bit too sensitive it isn't the first time a competitor to both Sony or PD was shown as a sponsor in GT.
Remember the Konami banners on Tsukuba or the Renault 5 Turbo Maxi rallycar with Philips livery?

well keeping an open mind didn't last long did it :indiff:

Evidently not. :grumpy:

I haven't made my mind up whether going 3D is a good idea for all games, but come on: a good proportion of games nowadays are set in a 3D environment, control is executed across a 3D scope and gameplay cues come at you in that same scope. Hence, by transforming the visual interface from a 2D projection of a 3D scene to a perceived 3D "portal" has legitimate potential to add to the experience, and possibly even function as part of the gameplay mechanic - the same cannot be said (certainly not to the same degree) of movies.

Therefore, whether or not it is a "gimmick" needs to be evaluated on a per-application basis, not in general - and certainly not before the final product is known.

@ RoadRunner99: I think I've seen that before, though I can't be certain :dopey:

3D didn't delay the game, GT PSP did.

They had already implemented 3D time back.

All I can hope is that this game gets released shortly after E3. Because I'll only be free THIS SUMMER. :\

I just dont see how this couldn't have been left for an update .3D TV has only just started to come on the market ,so if they would have released it back in March they would of made a hell of a lot of people happy and had time to release an update just in time for 3D TV to get a foothold.
As for MOVE ,well same there due to the fact that there are no games out yet .

I wonder with this 3D thing, what happens with the people who wear glasses? they wear a pair of glasses?

And second point: the time.

I saw Avatar and when it ends i remember i feel a little dizzy. The movie lenght is like 3 hours, i can play easy 5 hours straight any GT game.

Thats assuming the game was ready to go without 3D or Move support (Move support isn't even confirmed), which is a big assumption as we don't have a clue.

It's your responsibility to take a break, every game manual suggests 15 mins every hour.

It's not that much of a big assumption if the recent delay statements are true regarding 3D and MOVE

Is it me or is the GT5 HUD absolutely ugly?

I really hate it. The top of the screen is nice, but the bottom half looks awful. I just wish they kept it the same as GT4

And those statements are a assumption also. No where has Sony linked 3D and/or Move to GT5 delays.

 Would you laugh if you seen a car in GT5 plastered with XBOX360 sponsor stickers? I would.

Not really, I would laugh if they include the car and remove the stickers. Just like T10 did in Tsukuba Circuit. I don't know what marketing specialists think about it, but I'm not going to buy another product just because I saw a logo in a competitor game.

Also, seeing a competitor logo in a GT game would be awesome, after all, the game try to mimic a real race as realistic as possible, of course that would be free marketing to the competitor, but who really cares? If the car has XBOX livery, put the damn XBOX liveried car in the game.

Uh, for legal reasons they can't. Neither Microsoft OR Sony would want it to happen anyhow.

Also what car are we talking about here?
