More complainers. That's all this board seems to be now. I used to come here and see some logic, now we have nothing but guesses. And for the poster that tried to debunk my claims, you wait and see. TV is big with the 3D implementation. The TV is where the 3D is being displayed. The PS3 can produce along with GT5 any 3D it wants, but without technology to display it within the TV there's no use. So to sit there and say that Sony's TV's wont make a difference is false.
I'm always amazed when someone posts a different (other side of the coin) point of view, and they are branded argumentative, complainers and guessers too, simply because they do not totally agree with another point of view?
In reality there are pros and cons to everything.
First, I was not trying to completely debunk your claim. I merely inserted the "logic" of 3D TVs in the real world marketplace. It may revolutionize TV, it just isn't likely to do it overnight. As with any "new" technology it is usually more costly and takes time to make inroads into the marketplace. Sales volume will take time to establish. Overtime the price comes down and the volume goes up, but it usually takes several years. In this case with the limited availability of 3D viewing resources it probably will take longer than normal.
My point is by the time the TVs are sold in mass it will likely be too late to affect any
appreciable difference in sales of GT5. As someone else already pointed out, accordingly 3D would be more logically a feature included in GT6.
I didn't say that the PS3 and GT5 had no part of the 3D being displayed, but as good as it is, without the right 3D technology in the TV set, it's not going to look good. If you think Sony has waited to bring it's 3DTV's out to the market till this month for no reason then you don't understand Sony. They are first in picture quality according to many. And with 3D I won't be surprised if they make their TV's first in that quality as well. Sony does things right when they make their products. Much like Gran Turismo.
Well there's something we can agree on. My gaming TV is a Sony and IMO the picture is second to none. I don't have any reservations about Sony's TV expertise.
My concern, as I've already stated, is that Sony may be taking liberties with what I consider the best VG series of all time, that could be detrimental to its reputation. I hope their intentions are strictly honorable, but if you don't mind, I like to question that from time to time.
