Yeah im scary about the car sound. Sorry but inside car it's really not this sound.
It's more trash sound, more hurting.
Here it's so fluid engine sound.

Démo = Gear 3 --------- G4 ---------------- G5 ----------------------
real = Gear 3 . ,,..,........... G4 .................,. G5 ......................... .,
Do you understand the feeling ?

Yeap, Coquitlam!

One of the main factors in my deciding of that, was the Mercedes game on Facebook. It ends July 12th, and promises a copy of GT5 with a playseat and assorted other stuff. I wouldn't think they'd make you wait five months to receive your gift, though they just may.

Coupled with the amount of attention they're getting even before E3, and the fact that they're one lollipop away from spilling all of the beans before it's time..

We'll see! I'm just trying to counteract all of the haters, and people saying it will be 2011. Gotta keep the balance, you know!?

 Sounds via text, love it

Somehow, I find worrying that they don't get right the engine of the only car included in this demo. I was not expecting a perfect rendering of it of course, but at least that its diesel engine behaved like a diesel engine.

They'll have the diesel working =P don't worry. If I recall correctly GT4 had diesel, not only that but Kaz has said GT5 will feature Diesel, hybrids, and electrics properly.

Why do people always forget that it´s just a simple demo?

OK, I get this.
So please answer me: for what reason do you think they would do that? (putting a different engine. It's not only sound that is different)

The only diesel car in GT4, the BMW 120d, also had bad sound (not resembling a diesel engine at all) and reached too high rpms.
I'm not saying that it will be the same in the final version of GT5 though. Just asking myself how they could get it wrong in this Le Mans demo.

Umm if i recall correctly, the 120d did 4,500 rpm max.

I hope we will get more roadcar diesels then GT4 lol.

Like I said, it was a place holder. They put together a quick demo and just stuck a sound in which in this case is the old Skyline sound from GT3-GT4).

In GT4 the 120d could get very easily over 5500 rpm if you used the manual transmission. It also had a gasoline engine-like rev limiter. In real life, that engine (2003 version) once you get past 4300-4400 rpm, torque starts to decrease noticeably quickly.

I hope we will get more roadcar diesels then GT4 lol.
I hope too, as long as they are correctly modeled.

I just watched the vids, and regardless of sound quality, the game is impressive. I just loved the comments on the IA agressiveness. :D 24h enduros won't be just time trialing after the first two hours, like it was in GT4, and the leader isn't pulling away anymore, nice job PD. 👍

The grass particles and new tire smoke add a lot to the overall feel when you're watching the replays, looks like more raw racing, and not just the perfect GT world. I can't wait to see full damage on those nice 908s, they will look even cooler completely destroyed. :mischievous:

+1 👍, i hate that

Some proof would be nice seeing as you're stating it as fact.

Thats what you're interpreting it as based on me not putting "maybe" or something to indicate that it was my opinion (which I actually did in earlier post here). I'm stating this for the fact that guess what? Its a demo and according to what I hear, it was made overnight. I don't claim it as truth, but what other reason is there to explain it being there in the first place?

This post isn't some other post, so lets stay consistent.
Other reason? As the logical, more plausible, non-fanboy wish list reason?
So SONY planned to make such a big display at LeMans, a race watched by millions, and finally decided the night before to throw a demo together?
We're all antsy for E3 but let's try to stay realistic til we know more. Then we can go back to our fan-boy mode and praise GT5 for being the love child of Awesome, Unicorns, and the 3rd coming of Jesus.

It is a demo of what, if not the game itself? They said it was the very latest build, didn't they? Are you guys saying GT5 is still 90% complete? After the 3D implementation come the development of proper engine and other sounds? Was the game done only to be pushed back due to Sony's 3D technology? If so, why would the sounds still be so mediocre?

I am starting to fear our (at least mine) expectations far surpass what PD can deliver. As always, I do so hope GT5 will prove my fears wrong.

I think that even if 50% of these expectations came true, the game will still be amazing.

I got Prologue for 10 US dollars. I don't think it was worth 40 US dollars (that's why I got it on sale)

For 40 bucks, more should have been offered. But that's why it's Prologue. Prologue is a demo as it cannot be compared to full numbered GT titles.

So what? Its discussing the same thing, differently worded (unintentionally). Like I said, thats what you interpreted it as.

Something other then the pathetic panic mode that consist of "omg, the sounds are horrible!!what were they thinking??!!" crap I keep seeing at the slightest detail in again, a demo. Sure enough I have no proof to back it up, which again I don't state as fact, but I'm not the one going "dis da best game evar!!! Forza sukz" so stop with fanboy accusations please.

So SONY planned to make such a big display at LeMans, a race watched by millions, and finally decided the night before to throw a demo together?

Loved how in your effort to seemingly accuse me of being a fanboy, you completely missed this part :

RACECAR

In no way have I stated this as fact.

Which is kind of what I was doing before you started claiming I'm stating my opinion as fact. Funny how you target only me in saying this yet you missed the idiotic nitpicking posts that somehow claim this is what we'll see in the game. Seems like I can't be positive or state my opinion with what I think is reasonable without you claiming I'm being a fanboy

More than a demo....

(More cars than most Need For Speeds)

I am not a fanboi of either GT nor Forza.

What I am a fan of is cars and racing, so regardless of what console there on, if it is good, I am there.

GT5 Prologue is nothing more than a Demo.

It is a rather feature packed, slightly expensive DEMONSTRATION of what to expect of the REAL GAME.

A DEMO, does not have to be 1 car, 1 track, there had never been any restriction on what a demo can nor can't have. It is just consumers have become to not expect this volume of features in a DEMONSTRATION.

If I recall, a demo in the video game world is a freely distributed demonstration of an upcoming game. Keyword: Free
