@ Captain Roh : My bad, the physics are both pro and standard in the video, but as it is an editing, you don't see the transition between the menu and the actual TT that I put in the video.

@ Manu : pas de quoi ;)

I'm going to go ahead and say this now, I'm willing to bet the release date is between July 12th and the end of August.

No, I didn't read this anywhere, just putting some factors together and it seems like that would be the most logical time.

Cool, a GTP member from Coquitlam!
Anyways... can you describe or explain these factors?
Logical? Im not too sure, For sony to get the most money, Q4 seems like the best time, Somewhere around october.. Think of the amount of people buying GT5 as Christmas gifts. Think of the (most likely) GT5 PS3 bundles that will also be available at that time, and how many parents will buy those for their kids.

In my opinion, racing games are one of the most widely accepted genres, Pretty much everyone can play them. The only factor is what kind of racing game do you like, Do you like a hardcore simulator on the PC? or a casual kart racer like mario kart?
But taking the vast scale and diversity of buyers of GT3 (That I have met, Truly amazing how anyone who had a ps2 had either GT3 or 4), GT5 will also be a success (To spread out to a huge diversity of players, Whether they like the game or they not- It will somehow get to their systems).

P.S. Im not bashing your thoughts or anything,
Just stating my opinion in comparison to yours.

It sounds similar to the other lemans cars in GT4, the Minolta, the Bentley speed 8, Audi R8, and many other cars once tuned (racing exhaust).
It may be the same base sound found in gt4 but higher quality.

It basically is, though I think its there just as a place holder for this special demo.

I agree. the Diesel engine can get 6,000 RPM and that's it. Or maybe it can do more.

In some cases (tractor-pull prepared engines) even more, but that those levels most of the fuel injected in the cylinders comes out of the exhaust unburned as very thick and deep black soot. Most modern automotive diesel engines stop at about 4500-5000 rpm. By the way, during the first hours of this year's Le Mans race I did some audio analysis on recorded engine samples, and the Peugeot 908s were shifting gears at almost exactly 4500 rpm, which should have been their redline if I remember correctly.

Wow, did I actually just see Cones move?!

That video cleared up alot of things, especially the AI, They seem more eager to push their limits as well, and it seemed like a big challenge trying to overtake Them.

Kind of odd though, The nurburgring trackside demo didn't really have this kind of AI, Or atleast as much as I can tell from the Videos (Cause I haven't tried it)

Can't wait till E3!

Grass particles are a nice touch, smoke might seem a bit excessive at times and the A.I looks rather horrible still (3 cars side by side going into the mulsanne chicane?)

Rest in the video is pretty awesome!

Oh and nice trees. ;]

Maybe thats why the Peugeots engines failed at LeMans today???...because of overrevving??...:sly:....lol...

Looks good the video...👍

spy.

Yeap, Coquitlam!

One of the main factors in my deciding of that, was the Mercedes game on Facebook. It ends July 12th, and promises a copy of GT5 with a playseat and assorted other stuff. I wouldn't think they'd make you wait five months to receive your gift, though they just may.

Coupled with the amount of attention they're getting even before E3, and the fact that they're one lollipop away from spilling all of the beans before it's time..

We'll see! I'm just trying to counteract all of the haters, and people saying it will be 2011. Gotta keep the balance, you know!?

I would not be surprised if they were the final sounds, given past history. :dopey:

Don't forget, it's a work in progress demo.

Somehow, I find worrying that they don't get right the engine of the only car included in this demo. I was not expecting a perfect rendering of it of course, but at least that its diesel engine behaved like a diesel engine.

Why do people always forget that it´s just a simple demo?

Actually on the prize page it states that you just get a voucher.. Redeamable once GT5 released, See here:

Don't get me wrong though, i'm not a hater and i believe it will definitely be out this year :) But all the Facebook game shows me is that its building a hype etc..

The sound is more then likely just a place holder so I wouldn't be worried about it. As its been said many times now, its a demo.
