The fact that we are even discussing Prologue is baffling.

Less than 2 day until E3. Screw Prologue. HARD.

We're moving on to the real deal; the full game

I am not a fanboi of either GT nor Forza.

What I am a fan of is cars and racing, so regardless of what console there on, if it is good, I am there.

GT5 Prologue is nothing more than a Demo.

It is a rather feature packed, slightly expensive DEMONSTRATION of what to expect of the REAL GAME.

A DEMO, does not have to be 1 car, 1 track, there had never been any restriction on what a demo can nor can't have. It is just consumers have become to not expect this volume of features in a DEMONSTRATION.

Not trying to be defensive, I own FM3. In fact I got the collectors edition. IMO I do not find it realistic. 99% of the cars have too much grip and the 1% that don't are crazy to control. Also there are many glitches/problems with the livery editor and online (this is more fact than opinion). Lastly, I think the interior car modeling is lousy. Despite all of this I do not regret my purchase because I find the game entertaining and fun to play (and in that regard it is the best so far). Just a difference of opinion.

I do not find GT5p to be a demo. It sure is not a full game. The truth is so few games are like prologue that it really gets its own special category, prologue.

Thats what you're interpreting it as based on me not putting "maybe" or something to indicate that it was my opinion (which I actually did in earlier post here). I'm stating this for the fact that guess what? Its a demo and according to what I hear, it was made overnight. I don't claim it as truth, but what other reason is there to explain it being there in the first place?

I think you're misinterpreting what they said about it being made overnight. From what I can tell, they are talking about nightly builds. They are pretty common among open source developers. What it means basically is compiling code overnight. Not really writing any code. Because big programs take a long time to compile, they do it overnight so it's ready to execute at dawn.

What the sony guy probably meant is that they got the latest code, put some parts together to make the demo and compiled it overnight so they could release it to the public the next day. It doesn't really mean they did it all overnight, I highly doubt that's the case. It probably took some guys a few days to put it together.

Anyway, I do agree with your point. It's certainly a crude work. The final version should be more polished. There's no telling for sure if the sound will be better, but we shouldn't lose all hope.

You just backed up what I said.

Key phrases..

- "and in that regard it is the best so far"
- "livery editor and online"

You stated it is the best so far, and 2 features no GT game has ever had, FULL GAME, not demo or Prologue if that is what you like to call it.

It all depends on what you want. If you like expressing your ideas, whilst driving round Lemans in a slightly cartoony fashion under the influence of almost realistic physics, than Forza is the game for you because it entertains you in that way.

However, if you want to tear around the streets of London in a F1 car whilst being under the influence of very realistic physics (better physics soon to come in GT5) in a state of mind blowing visuals on a machine that won't brake down in a year or two, you'd have a PS3 and GT5P because you are entertained by that.

So what this basically means is, if your "entertained" by Forza, that's fine. But if it's realism your looking for (+entertainment), get GT5P, (and GT5 when it comes out). It all depends on what your entertained by, and/or what you want.

So, I have seen us discuss everything about GT5, but I have not seen a discussion about what "premium" could mean in regard to a track.

Its so freaking baffling.

If you're not sure what I'm referring to, check out the GT5rs video at exactly 30 seconds. Look towards the bottom left under the name of the track. It says premium. So strange.

Does anyone have any ideas?💡

I'm not really that surprised that some people still don't see Prologue as the glorified demo it is. The flawed thinking that "demo = free" is how PD made such a killing off what is just an old, incomplete build of a game. There haven't been "Metal Gear" prologues or "Final Fantasy" prologues, because the average developing team realizes the better plan is to knuckle down and actually finish their original goal. Not package up what they've done so far and charging nearly full-price for it. It doesn't matter GT5P has more cars than NFS; what matters is that it was what, 1/6 or 1/8 of what's been promised for the full game, and you paid 2/3 for it.

As for the whole sound issue; whether or not its the latest build, you would think they'd have recorded the engine at some point if Peugeot has such a close tie with them on the 908 that they've got it modelled with its current livery. it's alarming, but not entirely surprising that PD would do this.

Well ok, that definately makes more sense. Like I said, that was what I heard which was wasn't anywhere near as descriptive as you just put it so thats definately more reasonable to me.

Exactly. In the midst of people freaking out over the minute things, thats all I'm try to convey (even while it doesn't appear to be interpreted that way).

All this realism/physics is based on Users opinion though, Forza boys will argue theirs is realistic and has better physics, and GT fans, like yourself will argue the opposite.

It is a no win situation for neither, all I stated was that Forza is the best going, will it change soon? I hope so, competition is good, we all should embrace it and embrace both games for what they are.

What I want from GT5 is:

- More vehicles, I can never get enough.
- Massive garage limits.
- Online stores, selling, buying and trading vehicles.
- Livery editor, storefront type of thing. Community based functions!
- Heaps of tracks, more the better.
- Awesome tuning, body kits, some cars I love as they are, like Ferrari, Audi's etc. Some I just want to pimp the **** out of.

Those things to me is what will make GT5 the better game. physics, realism, well I am not that good at the actual racing part, while I enjoy it immensely and will continue too, I am still a long way behind most people here, which means I tend not to play online, even in Forza.

I pointed that out a while back, but got no response. However, I bet a premium track is a brand new build of a track for GT5, and a, lets call it, standard track is and HD version of a GT4 track copied into GT5. That's just a wild guess, and I honestly have no idea.

YES!! I'm happy now that I've seen the interior view. You bloody ripper! Looks fantastic, really looking forward to E3 and playing the game.

When it comes out, you better make Ken Butler proud :D

I think it gets so little response because its so confusing that people don't even know where to begin.

I mean, no racing game in history has had a separation of tracks. OH MY GOD!!!💡💡💡💡💡

It just clicked. Weather and freaking day/night cycles!!! Some tracks have it and some do not!!! That just moved my estimation of dynamic weather and day/night cycles from about 50/50 to 85/15.

What else would make sense?

I agree with all of this.

Without the ability to personalize our cars, online would be fairly bland. Lots of same-colour cars racing together, so on and so forth. It can't harm the gameplay at all if they add it in, and it gives us something else to spend hours setting up IF we want to.

Just saw that the car in the trailer is premium and was wondering have we seen any 'standard' cars yet? i was worried about the car view drama but I'm not too fussed anymore lol just want the game released!

Maybe the premium cars are the ones that can be fully customised with new body panels? Guess we will find out real soon (I hope......):nervous:

Again to show a difference of opinion, I feel physics are more important. Thats why currently I am playing LFS, NFSS (PC: sharp mod) and just purchased an iRacing subscription. To me customization is secondary.

Wow that makes a lot of sense. It's the most plausible explanation I've heard so far. 👍

Not exactly difference in opinion, difference in gaming style for sure.

I am also sure I would notice the difference in Physics, Realism and what not, hopefully I can go alright online and at least put up some sort of fight.

Be good to hook up with fellow gtplanet members for a spin, at least then I know who is beating me.

Thank you

Seriously, what else could it be? Does anyone remember seeing "premium" listed next to either of the Nurburgring tracks?

The image I cannot get out of my head is driving in the Clio V6 down the Ring at night while it storming... Not quite sure if that should be classified as heaven or hell. :)

Holy hell, the premium mystery has been solved!! Or has it??

I do remember that, but it was something esle. Definately a valid theory.

Haven't we been over this before? Premium cars being ones that have the insides modeled for extra damage? (i.e if a fender falls off, the panel behind it has been modeled for damage as well)

Oh allright thanks for clearing that up 👍
The damage model seems to have improved quite nicely as shown by the suburu in the trailer.

That's exactly how I feel.
You claim you don't state is as fact yet a sentence later you give it enough credibility to question what other motive there could be behind the "engine sound" being there?

So what? Its discussing the same thing, differently worded (unintentionally). Like I said, thats what you interpreted it as.

Interpreted it? I didn't interpret anything. I read every word and found no indication of an opinionated statement. The fact that you started with "Like I said..." gives indication of sureness, can't think of the word.

It basically is, though I think its there just as a place holder for this special demo.

Opinion, yes.

The sound is more then likely just a place holder so I wouldn't be worried about it. As its been said many times now, its a demo.
Opinion, yes.

Like I said, it was a place holder. They put together a quick demo and just stuck a sound in which in this case is the old Skyline sound from GT3-GT4).
No hint of opinion there.

Loved how in your effort to seemingly accuse me of being a fanboy, you completely missed this part :
Loved how in your effort to amuse me further, you seem to backpedal. I said it would make no sense for such a huge GT5 showing to display a demo put together at the last second, as if they didn't have time or something, to which you replied with pretty much "That's just what I heard it doesn't mean I agree with it".

Exactly. In the midst of people freaking out over the minute things, thats all I'm try to convey (even while it doesn't appear to be interpreted that way).

Freaking out about minute things? LOL.

I don't know why you're so defensive about this. I'm not picking on you. I replied to you simply because there are only a few posters here that I pay attention to. You happen to be one of them and I hoped that you would point me in the direction of your source for the info you posted.

Yea, I'd say that in my head its totally clear now. Hopefully, we have confirmation of this soon. Come on E3.

By the way, does anyone have a fast forward button?
